Former THE NANNY star Charles Shaughnessy tweeted yesterday that he’d booked an episode of the ABC drama, and the network has confirmed he will appear in “The Limey,” this season’s 20th episode. (It was also announced yesterday that Brett Tucker will appear in the hour.)

In an episode slated for spring, Adam Baldwin, who played Firefly's Jayne Cobb to Nathan's Capt. Malcolm 'Mal' Reynolds, will guest star as a detective named Ethan Slaughter. (How's that for a character name?)

ADAM: Hope springs eternal, Elizabeth, especially after an upcoming episode that involves a bombing at an anti-Wall Street rally. While Castle and Beckett try to piece together what happened, they will examine their relationship. "It does make Castle and Beckett start questioning what they're doing in life," executive producer Andrew W. Marlowe teases. "[The victims] had plans... and then suddenly their lives were over. So it makes you think: 'Should I wait or should I act now?' Those thoughts are definitely on their minds." I think I speak for many of us when I say: Enjoy yourself (It's later than you think)!

Spartacus: Vengeance actor Brett Tucker is set to team up with the pair for an upcoming episode this season, playing Simon Hunt, a hottie detective from Scotland Yard who is trying to find the murderer who killed his friend’s daughter. He will appear in episode 20 of this season, set to air some time in April.

In tonight’s brand new episode of CASTLE, murder victims are dressed up as fairytale characters…and the bodies are found with character specific details on them. It’s a good thing the NYPD has a trusted medical examiner they can count on.

“[Lanie]‘s definitely very focal in the solving of these mysterious murders that are popping up,” Tamala Jones (Lanie) teased. “There’s some sicko out there that is killing all the fairytales [characters]…he’s dressing his victims as some of the characters’ we see.”

So how influential is Lanie to figuring out what the heck is going on?

“Lanie is very helpful in discovering this is all together, this is all linked, this is what’s happening, let’s get this guy,” Jones shared. “There is some interesting things that Lanie discovers inside the wound of the body and she really helps uncover a lot of information by finding these things.”

Wetpaint Entertainment: You guys have had quite a season! What is coming up on tonight's episode?

Tamala Jones: Oh, my God. We have such a wonderful episode coming up. We have a murderer that is basically Charlie Manson, and Beckett and Castle are trying to hunt him down before he makes his next kill.

But the crazy part about this murderer is that he is recreating fairy tales. As he’s killing the women, he’s dressing them up. I think we have a Snow White and a Little Red Riding Hood. And the murder scene, the way he sets it up is crazy. Little Red Riding Hood has the Big Bad Wolf after he— I’m just going to leave the mystery there.

It’s crazy the way it’s set up. If you thought that Pandora and Linchpin had you twisted, this one’s even more twisted.

ADAM: The show is definitely keen on revisiting that story line, but it's all about timing. "We're having talks about whether we're bringing him back by the end of this season," executive producer Andrew W. Marlowe says. "But we're still waiting to hear on Season 5. If we get the Season 5 pickup, it's something that we might wait and make more of a meal of next year."

As if Castle‘s Detective Beckett hasn’t already had a bad day, having seen a key witness shot dead right in front of her as she and her team race to prevent a national crisis, on a personal level she’s about to get an eye-opening earful.

In tonight's episode, CIA agent Sophia Turner calls Rick and Kate on the carpet for letting the aforementioned witness die on their watch after going a bit rogue. But after undressing the duo on a professional level, Turner takes a dig at Rick with a pointed allusion to their years-ago working “relationship” — and the slip does not go unnoticed by Beckett.

Castle creator Andrew W. Marlowe hinted to me that Kate’s secret will soon emerge, that she remembers Rick saying “I love you” after she got shot. Do you think she will drop that bombshell of her own when railing against her partner in crimesolving/potentially more? Something à la “So tell me, Rick, did you love her, too?”

Lanie and Esposito (Tamala Jones and Jon Huertas) may have already gone there by trying their hand at inter-office dating, but Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Beckett (Stana Katic) are still dancing around each other. And honestly, that’s just how Huertas-- and Esposito-- likes it!

“I don’t want them together. I’d like to see them actually get pulled farther apart. "Castle" is bringing in reinforcements for its latest ultra-tense two-parter, "Pandora." Jennifer Beals joins the team when her CIA agent character Sophia Turner needs help with a case. Yes, she's the latest obstacle in the way of Beckett and Castle hooking up like we all know they should -- but although he and Turner had a similarly complicated work/love relationship (yes, Beals says Sophia was Castle's muse for the character of Clara Strike and "there was an intimate aspect to their relationship"), it sounds like her presence could help bring our favorite should-be couple together.

Beals tells Zap2it that her character joins the team when she needs help with a case. "She's involved right now with an international conspiracy case that's moved to U.S. soil so there's not a lot of stuff she's able to do," Beals says. "But she finds that Beckett is on this case and enlists her and Castle's help. So she's reunited with Castle after 12 years."

They have cases that intersect — Sophia is working on an international case that comes to U.S. soil, and it just so happens that Beckett is involved with part of this case. And because the CIA has its hands tied when it comes to working on U.S. soil, she sees an opportunity to take Beckett into the team to help solve this case.

Jennifer Beals is returning to TV for a two-episode arc on "Castle," and her CIA agent character Sophia Turner will be stirring up emotions between Castle and Beckett. Could her history with Castle finally inspire Beckett to share her true feelings for him once and for all and maybe return those three little words?

In the upcoming episode, "Pandora" (Mon., Feb. 13, 10 p.m. EST on ABC), and its follow-up on Feb. 20, "Linchpin," the stakes have never been higher for Castle and Beckett as they work with Sophia and the CIA to solve an international conspiracy that could have a massive effect on the U.S.

I caught up with Beals, who was cagey about whether or not her past with Castle was romantic at all, but she did reveal that he shadowed Sophia years ago and modeled his character Clara Strike after her ... meaning Beckett isn't his first muse. She also talked about Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic's onscreen chemistry (calling it "magical"), whether or not this could spark a "Castle" spinoff for her character and, knowing that we begged for it, what it'll take to get her back on TV full-time.

First off, I miss "Chicago Code." Gone too soon …

I miss it, too. I love that character. She was such a badass. And I loved working with the CPD, and we had a great cast. I was just excited about it.

Well, I can tell you what you definitely won’t see: Beckett versus guest star Jennifer Beals. Beals, who plays CIA op (and former Castle flame!) Sophia Turner on the show’s two-parter, said she always hoped the character wouldn’t come between Castle and Beckett and made that clear that to EP Andrew Marlowe when they first chatted about the role. “I’m not interested in a triangle. I’m not interested in two women fighting over the same guy,” she says. “Sophia Turner is not the woman whose pining or trying to undermine another woman. I’m not interested in a catfight. There can be tension, problems, it can bring up issues for Beckett, but we’re not going to be mud wrestling.” Somewhere, Richard Castle is weeping in disappointment.

Jones: One of the other cast members, and I won't say who, ends up following Lanie around and discovering Lanie's world from her perspective. I think you're going to like this dynamic here because it's really nice.

THR: As you near the end of the season, what is the direction it's moving toward?

Jones: I can tell you from the way that the double episode is written, the season finale is going to be explosive. It's definitely going to top any season finale we've ever had, I can honestly say that. It's getting more and more intense, more and more mysterious, especially after the [two-parter]. The mystery is heightened and whatever they're doing in that laboratory that they call the writer's room, I think everyone is going to be in pure shock. A good shock.

We talked with the lovely Stana Katic on set and she is gunning for Castle/Beckett to seal the deal, too, but sadly (sad trombone!), it's not happening any time soon. "I hope that they deal with their relationship, I hope that it moves forward. I kind of feel like we're at that point where it's got to grow," she tells us. So what's coming up after last night's fantastical forties episode? "I think the next thing that we're looking at is the two of them almost drowning. I think we're going to try to take them through every element and almost kill them in any way possible and then hopefully they'll get it. Hopefully they'll say, ‘I really love you and I'm crazy for you and let's just get married and have children.' " Season finale, anyone? Done and done!

TVLine spoke with show boss Andrew W. Marlowe about the origin of this “noir” idea and how dipping into the past might affect the character’s futures.

Well, we had wanted to do something different for a while, and I think every show that’s been around for a few seasons wants to do something where they go back in time or have some sort of fun or gives the audience a chance to see their characters as not quite themselves. And part of it was inspiration drawn from thatcast photo. Looking at it, we thought, “Nathan looks so good in that outfit, and Stana looks so great…. Wouldn’t it be something to be able to play with that as a trope?” The challenge for us was finding a way to do it that fit into the storytelling so that it was really organic and not forced, and one of our writers, Terrence Winter, did a really great job with that.

TVLINE | So how do we gain entry into this world?
There’s a current-day murder, but it has a component that is influenced by something that happened back in the 1940s. Castle gets access to this private investigator’s journal, and as he starts reading it he starts imagining himself as the P.I. and Beckett as the gangster’s moll. And our other characters make appearances in the past as well.

When Jennifer Beals comes to Castle as part of February sweeps two-parter, she will be more than just one of Rick Castle's old flames.

When Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Beckett (Stana Katic) discover a murder victim who was apparently murdered by a rogue CIA agent, they quickly find themselves in the middle of a much larger investigation, led by Beals' Sophia Conrad.

"She is a CIA agent and, as we know, in Richard Castle's first series of books, a female CIA agent figured prominently," creator and executive producer Andrew W. Marlowe tells TVGuide.com. "So, of course, it would lead us to ask: Is Beckett Castle's first muse?"

Naturally, Beckett learning that she isn't Castle's first will leave Beckett with lots of questions about the will-they-won't-they couple's future. "Beckett has to wrestle with where she thought she stood in Castle's life and where she might really stand in Castle's life," Marlowe says. "I think it's natural in a situation like that to feel threatened to some extent, and to measure yourself up."

What [Sophia] meant to Castle at the time ... and whether or not it makes Beckett feel any less important in Castle's life, are all things we're dealing with," he continues. "Those are questions that Beckett is trying to have answered without exposing her feelings too much."

The film noir episode that Castle fans have been waiting for is finally here on February 6, and Wetpaint Entertainment has some exclusive details about “The Blue Butterfly.”

“I didn't think we'd get to this episode until the eighth season because it's such a departure from what normally happens in the show,” says Seamus Dever, who plays detective Kevin Ryan.

When Rick Castle discovers a journal of a private investigator back in the '40s, which is connected to the murder that the team is trying to solve in present time, we get to see past events through his eyes.

“He imagines these flashbacks to 1947, and we're all dressed up in '40s costumes, in this beautiful Copacabana type club,” says Seamus.

“Tamala Jones gets to play a torch singer, and she's really singing in it. I get to play an Irish mobster, and Esposito plays a Cuban mobster. I got to do an Irish accent! So we get to play thugs. It's the opposite of our characters and it was kick ass fun!”

But it’s not just the visuals — and the kiss between Castle and Beckett’s alter egos — that’s worth tuning in for.

While chatting about what Castle fans can expect from the next batch of new episodes, executive producer Andrew Marlowe said the show’s reality TV-themed episode, which will feature a guest spot from White Collar and One Tree Hill alum Hilarie Burton, will find the partners in a situation they’ve never experienced before: sharing custody of a four-legged friend. “There’s some fun to be had with the Castle-Beckett relationship [because] our victim is a celebrity dog-show host and famous dog trainer. And in the aftermath of his death, his beloved golden retriever is left family-less. So Castle and Beckett get to enjoy sharing custody of the dog and I think it brings out stuff in their relationship that’s a lot of fun,” Marlowe said.

Marriage is definitely not easy on television. Fortunately, Seamus Dever -- who plays Detective Kevin Ryan on Castle -- is up to the challenge. He will marry his longtime paramour, Jenny (played by Seamus Dever's real wife, Juliana), in this week's Castle episode, "'Til Death Do Us Part."

Dever recently spoke to BuddyTV about the episode, the character of Ryan and his TV wedding.

BuddyTV: First off, a basic question: Can you confirm that Ryan will actually be married at the end of the upcoming episode?

Seamus Dever: Yes! Yes, I can confirm that, yes. But there's some bumps along the way, as with any wedding. So within a good, dramatic TV show, there are bumps and conflicts along the way.

BuddyTV: Bumps are good -- on TV anyway. Where, in the wedding process, do we pick up at the beginning of "'Til Death Do Us Part"?

Seamus Dever: Well, the lead-up to the wedding, I think we start like five days out before the wedding. Maybe it's a week? I can't remember the time frame. But, regardless, it's the lead-up to the wedding, a few days before the wedding, and we're investigating a case.

CASTLE is a cop show that embraces comedy and levity in the most absurd investigations, but which will also delve into the darker side of murder, cop killers, and sociopaths. Sliding seemingly effortless between the agile comedy and finely-tuned drama, Seamus is a chameleon on screen. In an exclusive interview, Seamus shared what drives Ryan and the relationships he prizes above everything else.

In your mind, who is Detective Kevin Ryan and what do you think epitomizes who he is in his soul?

SEAMUS: Whoa, deep. Wow. I think Kevin Ryan is a nice guy who is always under-estimated about what he really knows. I think he is quiet and I think he is a smart-ass. He grew up with two older sisters, so there’s always been an interesting relationship with older siblings that he has. I think what epitomizes who he is, is his loyalty to his partners and his loved ones around him and how he would protect them regardless of the cost. I think that’s my answer. [Laughter]

Over the past two seasons particularly, we have seen Det. Ryan take increasing risks and make harder decisions when his fellow officers’ lives are on the line. What lengths do you think he’ll go to, to protect those he cares about?

SEAMUS: Well, it’s been one of those things — we had an episode last season where Ryan and Esposito are being tortured to find out some information that would compromise and harm Beckett and Castle — Beckett in particular — and it was one of those things that we were willing to bite the bullet and be tortured and take all this punishment rather than tell them what they wanted to hear. So I think it gets to the point where you get to the point — and Ryan comes from the neighborhood still — where you don’t squeal on the people you’re protecting. He’s not a rat. He’s going to protect the people around him. We saw that in his response to torture. But on the other side, it’s one of those things where he has an idealistic sense of what the job is — because there was the whole predicament last year that we were playing with Captain Montgomery and it was like, “Do we tell anyone about this? Or do we sort of do the right thing and let him die in peace and not reveal that he was a dirty cop?” And it was always one of those things that Ryan was in favor of letting everyone know and Esposito was in favor of letting him die in peace. So it was one of those things that we sort of carved out how everybody feels about those particular moral situations.

Will Ryan's Wedding Inspire a Castle - Beckett Coupling?

For ABC's Castle, nothing makes a wedding more memorable than murder.

As Detective Kevin Ryan (Seamus Dever) prepares to tie the knot with his fiancee Jennie (Dever's real-life bride, Juliana) on Monday's episode (10/9c, ABC), the death of a notorious Lothario derails the wedding planning. And things only get worse when Beckett (Stana Katic) and Castle (Nathan Fillion) learn that Jenny has a connection to the womanizing victim.

"It's sort of an interesting wrinkle," Dever tells TVGuide.com. "What ends up happening is that everyone else worries about it a little bit more than Ryan does. Beckett and Castle are trying to protect some information from hitting me, and in the end, they sort of underestimate my ability to deal with that information."

But don't expect that reveal to give Ryan cold feet. "It's nice to see one of [the characters] in a stable relationship," Dever says. "I think it's cool because everyone else gets to reflect on what Ryan has. I think it's something that my character owns, which is a nice little space we've carved out for Kevin Ryan."

Indeed, creator Andrew W. Marlowe says that on a show that so heavily relies on its leads' will-they-won't-they sexual tension, it's helpful to have a couple that will. "It's important, not just for the audience, but for the characters in the show to have a touchstone of what they can aim for," Marlowe says. "They need to see something that's functional and happy."

Castle returns to ABC after taking the holidays off and front and center is Det. Kevin Ryan's upcoming nuptials to fiancee Jenny, but in true Castle fashion, something potentially life-changing forces the couple to rethink their future.

Actor Seamus Dever said as much when he chatted with The Hollywood Reporter about Monday's pivotal episode, centered on the murder of a lothario who has surprising ties to Jenny. "She becomes involved in the murder and we discover some information that might affect Ryan's decision to get married at all," Dever tells THR. That's not all: The couple will have another point of contention.

"Ryan and Jenny have decided to go on a cleanse to purge themselves and make themselves pure before they get married. It's sort of a spiritual thing," Dever says.

The cleanse proves to be too much. "He's letting things boil and he's becoming anxious because he can't wat. His partner Esposito is taunting him with donuts," Dever says with a laugh. So much so that by episode's end, "Ryan decides to finally break his cleanse. There's a scene where everybody's eating Chinese food and Ryan loses it and starts devouring everything on the table," he adds.

Monday's episode is crucial to Ryan's journey to becoming a man -- and playing opposite his real-life wife Juliana helped. He recalled a moment that drew parallels to his actual wedding: "There's a moment right before I head into the chapel to get married; it's a funny thing that happens to a person. There's a mixture of excitement, of nervousness and fear all combined into one."

This Monday night Detective Kevin Ryan (Seamus Dever) will tie the knot with his longtime girlfriend Jenny O'Malley (Dever's real life-wife, actress Julianna Dever). Fans of the hit detective series, Castle, on ABC have long been looking forward to what is sure to be a funny, yet romantic episode filled with none other than crime-fighting!

If you're not already a fan of this quirky take on the NYPD, now in its fourth season, you sure need to catch up! The show stars Nathon Fillion as Richard Castle, a best-selling mystery writer who originally joins forces with New York's finest when a copy-cat murderer begins mimicking his books. While shadowing the police force, Castle becomes taken with Detective Kate Beckett (Stana Katic), who he decides to make his muse for his next book series 'Nikki Heat'. While Beckett is initially unamused by having Castle join the team, an unlikely friendship (and possible romance) develops and Castle proves to be rather useful in solving cases. Detectives Kevin Ryan (Seamus Dever) and Javier Esposito (Jon Huertas) round out Beckett's team, helping to solve murders and often bailing Castle and Beckett out of some serious trouble. We sat down with Seamus Dever to find out what the rest of Season 4 has in store.

Q: One thing fans love about Castle is the banter and camaraderie between the characters on the show. Tell me a bit about this.

A: We are a lot like that in real life- playing off each other, giving each other a hard time, making fun of each other. It's a very classic 'locker room' mentality... or maybe junior high, but we have fun. We know each other pretty well now going into our fourth season so it is easier for us to joke around. We make each other laugh and enjoy each other's personalities which is good because we often put in really long hours filming. It doesn't make it seem so long! Plus, we are all real friends and the cast has grown into a family. We spend time together outside of work, we hang out, and we genuinely like each other. It's really nice that after four seasons we still feel that way and are doing that.

‘CASTLE’: THREE TEASES FROM EP ANDREW MARLOWE!
One of my favorite things about Spoiler Room is that I get a chance to preview for you a lot of the fun things to come here on InsideTV, and here’s yet another: Yesterday, I hopped on the phone with Castle EP Andrew Marlowe, who talked about the second half of the season. And while you can expect a full report on our chat over the next few days (good stuff!), here are three bits I’ve pulled to entice you for the time being!

+ Another kiss coming?
As one of you pointed out in an e-mail to me, last January, fans were treated to a kiss between Castle and Beckett. So, I posed the factoid to the ever-coy Marlowe, while shamelessly fishing to see if there was something coming up to be equally excited about. “I think we can be treated to something, if not at that level, close to that level — in terms of movement and complication,” he teases.

+ Another high-stakes two-parter!
One of my favorite episodes of Castle last season was the two-part dirty bomb episode that guest-starred Heroes alum Adrian Pasdar. This season, Jennifer Beals will guest in another two-parter as a CIA agent (with ties to Castle!) who will allow the writers to “do storytelling on a grand scale.” “We have some folks here who spent some time in features and we want to try to bring that movie mentality to TV as best we can,” he says. “I think it will be as explosive as last season. Certainly, I’ll say, we were dealing with a dirty bomb so explosive is a good word for last season. This one will be equally high stakes.”

+ Finale planning in progress
Last season’s Castle finale was, for yours truly, the best episode of the series. So how does one top that? Simple: You don’t. “You try to do something different,” clarifies Marlowe. “If you’re doing the same thing, only better, it still gets a little bit familiar. We always like to keep the audience a little bit on their toes, so we’re conceiving the last couple of episodes — what can we do that’s really compelling in a way we haven’t explored on the show yet?”
