Question: Any Castle scoop? —Tamar
Ausiello: Someone we haven’t seen all season will be back during May sweeps.
Question: Any news if Castle and Beckett will become Caskett in the season finale? —Cat
Ausiello: Funny you should ask. We ran into Castle co-star Jon Huertas (Esposito) over the weekend at the 26th annual Genesis Awards and here’s what he had to say about the season-ender: “I think the audience is going to be surprised about what happens between Castle and Beckett. More surprised than they ever have been.” Interesting. One might even say veddy interesting.

THR: 'Castle' Boss on Turning the Tide, Lanie-Beckett's Revealing Chat and an 'Emotional' End (Q&A)
When series creator Andrew Marlowe made the point that last week's Dancing With the Stars-themed episode would be the ABC procedural's final "normal" episode, it all comes down to the secrets partners Beckett (Stana Katic) and Castle (Nathan Fillion) are keeping from the other.
So much so that when those secrets surface, the two spend time apart with other detectives (Brett Tucker and Adam Baldwin, specifically). "When some of the information is put on the table and they start making discoveries, then it's going to cause them both to do a little soul searching," Marlowe told The Hollywood Reporter.
Beckett may take a deeper plunge than her counterpart. As Marlowe reveals details of her intimate gabfest with best friend Lanie (Tamala Jones), Beckett seems to be on the road to making a big decision about her future -- and this time, it may stick. "The discussion really is about what Beckett ultimately wants in life and what she's willing to do, what she's not willing to do," he teased.

Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic Drop Scoop on Their TV Romance: "You Will Be Happy!"
Hear that? It's the sound of fangirls squeeing. And OK, so some of them are coming from our own office.
Nathan Fillion, Stana Katic and the rest of the Castle crew are floating five spoilers your way, and one of them has to do with a certain fan-favorite couple.
1. Just Kiss Already! After nearly four full seasons, Caskett fans can stop crossing those fingers and toes because we've learned that things are finally going to progress! When we asked why it has taken so long, Fillion was very quick to defend their slow-moving flirtations, saying, "Our writers have been very talented and very deft about dealing with the ebb and flow of a relationship with two people who don't meet eye-to-eye." He continues, "We've been dealing with a lot of ebb lately, especially towards the end of the season, we're going to get a lot of ebb, but right at the end we're going to get some flow." Hooray for flow! Stana Katic also confirmed it, "Oh yeah, the end of this season you guys are going to be happy." She repeated with a coy laugh, "Any Caskett fans out there: You will be happy!" Squee!
2. Who's Your Daddy?: In the jam-packed two-parter "Pandora/Linchpin", fans were shocked when psycho Sophia (Jennifer Beale) revealed that Castle's father was involved in the CIA. Showrunner Andrew Marlowe assures us that the Daddy dilemma will be touched upon, but it might take a while to get an answer. "I think it's a little mystifying for Castle because he doesn't know if he can trust what Sophia said, and if your father is in the CIA, how do you find out? But it is something that we're going to be exploring as we move forward in the series." Start throwing out your dream-castings!
3. Firefly Fandemonium: By now, you should already be well aware that Adam Baldwin is coming to reunite with his fellow Firefly castmate Nathan Fillion! And if you didn't well then, it's not like we're judging you or anything. (We totally are.) Fillion assured us that Firefly fanatics will be more than pleased: "I'm reading the script right now and I've already seen two Firefly references!" Baldwin will be playing Ethan Slaughter, a no-nonsense detective from the city's gang unit whom Castle is very eager to follow on a case and Fillion revealed that Slaughter is a very "Jayne character" on the show.

Beckett Glams Up for a Case… and a New Man?
"The Limey" - A devilishly handsome detective from Scotland Yard, Simon
Hunt (Brett Tucker, "Off the Map," "Spartacus," guest stars), teams up
with Castle & Beckett to find the person responsible for the murder
of his friend's daughter. Meanwhile, Lanie convinces
Beckett that she needs to make a move on Castle before it is too late.
Does Castle's Beckett have her eye on a charming crime solver?
TV Line previously reported, Spartacus: Vengeance's Brett Tucker will guest star as a Scotland Yard detective, and we've got a sneak peek of the handsome newcomer and Beckett getting all dressed up for a case.
In the April 2 episode of the ABC drama, Tucker's Simon Hunt teams up with Castle and Beckett to solve the murder of his friend's daughter. When the trio becomes suspicious of the Deputy General at the British Consulate (played by Days of Our Lives' Charles Shaughnessy), they find themselves attending a veddy fancy ambassadorial ball.
And while Beckett is a stunner in her black gown, Stana Katic told TVLine that "everybody takes notice of "her dashing escort."

Hi Sandra. Since you mentioned you were going to the Castle Paley panel, surely you didn’t return empty handed? I am hoping you brought your loyal readers some juicy scoop. Maybe about Beckett’s secret getting out? Also Stana said things are going to get naughty soon between our favorite duo, does that mean what we think it means! — Cheryl
Well, we know for sure her secret will come out this season. And Nathan Fillion tells me that it’ll be just one part of the upcoming rush of action we see between the two. “I think our writers have been very accurate with how relationships ebb and flow, especially between two complicated people who aren’t always on the same page. We’ve had a lot of ebb this season. So I think we’re going to have more flow,” he said cryptically.
Sandra, I’m pumped about the Firefly reunion on Castle! I love me some Adam Baldwin! Got any scoop on what Castle and his character will be doing together?
You’re not the only one who’s excited. Fillion told me it’s probably his favorite of the upcoming episodes. But it sounds like Castle will have his hands full with Det. Slaughter (Baldwin). Or is that the other way around… “I’m really excited about it. [Slaughter is] very tough — very rough and tumble. He’s working on a case that Castle wants to be a part of, but he’s not an easy man,” he says.

Matt's Inside Line - 3/15/12
Castle | So this is interesting.
Stana Katic had some rather specific thoughts on how Rick will react
upon learning that Kate heard his “I love you,” when we spoke to her at
PaleyFest. “It’s a tough pill to swallow to know that you unveiled your
feelings for someone and they haven’t been able to respond to that, so
it’ll be tough for a little while,” she shared. “And then it’ll be
really, really good!” (Ooh, a second “really,” folks.
Italicized, too!) And would Kate theoretically echo Rick’s declaration?
“I think she’ll try to be brave and come forward with her feelings …
because it’s been a while that they have this kind of like thing,” Katic
offered. “She wants to bring a bit of closure to her feelings about him
at least.” Yes, closure is good. Really, really good.

Mother Nature Network: This is one green 'Cast-le'
At the core of "Castle" is the relationship between cop Beckett and crime novelist Castle, and the chemistry Katic and Fillion bring to the characters. So far they've flirted a lot but haven't consummated their attraction, something that the producers think is inevitable. Zaks points to Fox's "Bones" as an example of a show that made their leads' relationship official with no ill effect. "I don't think it's the kiss of death," she said, and Marlowe echoed that belief, saying he's "not someone who believes in the curse of 'Moonlighting.' There's a lot of storytelling we can do."
Marlowe won't pin down the timetable for the Big Moment, believing "characters organically suggest where they want to go. The challenge for us is to find reasons for them not to be together and struggle with when they should be together. We just want to be true to who these characters are and that any obstacles that get in the way are natural obstacles. As long as we feel we can credibly do that there will come a time where we don't keep them apart. When that time comes it will open up new opportunities in the storytelling because the characters will act differently and get on each other's nerves in different ways. The next evolution in their relationship will be just as fun," he promised.
Other upcoming developments this season include an April guest appearance by Fillion's "Firefly" co-star Adam Baldwin as a gang task force detective named Slaughter, a zombie-themed episode, and an "emotionally powerful" season finale. "This has been a season of secrets," said Marlowe. "Castle and Beckett are both keeping significant secrets from each other and as we get to this last run of episodes the secrets will start to come out and both characters and all the characters around them will have to deal with the emotional consequences." The ongoing thread of the murder of Beckett's mother "is something we'll be touching on by the end of the season. Whenever that arises it puts Beckett into a very emotionally raw situation," he added, noting that the matter of Castle's missing father, who might have been in the CIA, will also be explored.

I'm really rooting for Lanie and Esposito to get back together on Castle. What do you know about that? — Nicky
ADAM: You'll probably enjoy Beckett and Lanie's upcoming girls' night! Tamala Jones tells us the episode will reveal what it was in Lanie's past that turned her against marriage and spooked her into breaking things off with Esposito. Perhaps reliving the bad will lead to good things down the line. "We're talking about Castle and we're talking about Esposito, and I think that's a good segue into rekindling or figuring out why Esposito and Lanie didn't work," Jones says.

Ausiello: An April episode will address a lingering Beckett-Lanie mystery. “A lot of people were questioning why Kate never called Lanie when she got out of the hospital [after being shot],” notes Tamala Jones. “In Episode 20, ‘The Limey,’ you’re going to see that reason why and a whole lot more for those two ladies. We finally get some girl time between the two! There’s a lot of confessions going on. I think what the audience has been waiting to hear Kate say – mainly to Castle – she’s [sharing with] me. ‘The Limey’ is really setting the tone for the season finale.”

Castle Creator Weighs In on 'Spectacular' Finale Buzz
ABC’s Castle will close the book on Season 4 “with such a huge satisfaction, but such a huge cliffhanger. You’re going to be like, ‘Oh, that’s great. We got through that, but — [Gasps] — oh my God, did that just happen?’”
That titillating teaser is courtesy of Lanie’s portrayer, Tamala Jones, who also used the word “spectacular” to describe the season-ender when speaking with TVLine prior to the ABC drama’s PaleyFest event this weekend.
Color us intrigued.
We went to the source — series creator Andrew W. Marlowe — to see how he himself was touting the finale, set to air May 7. Namely, how does one top sending a sniper to gun down your female lead, and then have her partner in crimesolving profess his love? (And all in the wake of killing off their boss!)
“I don’t know that we top [Season 3's finale],” Marlowe answered. “We try to service the characters where they are now, and every story is different. It’s always significant when such a key player of the family ends up getting killed, but that’s not something we want to do every season.
“But we have some tricks up our sleeves,” he continued, “to make it a pretty big event for the loyal viewers of the series.”

PaleyFest: 'Castle' Gang Say 'Caskett' Fans Will Be Happy, Offer 8 Season 4 Teases
As Castle creator Andrew Marlowe so eloquently introduced prior to the screening of March 19’s hour, “A Dance With Death,” This will be the “last normal Castle episode before the stormy weather hits.” But what’s normal in the world of Castle?
As the end of the show’s fourth season nears, several big questions loom for fans of the Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic-led procedural. The biggest one being: Will Castle and Beckett finally commit to one another in any significant capacity?
Marlowe teased this of the partners’ future to the packed Saban Theatre crowd on the eighth night of PaleyFest. “There will come a moment when the two will come together and there are plenty of story after,” he coyly said during the panel, before admitting, “It’s 2012, people fall into bed .. all the time.”

'Castle' star Stana Katic: 'Caskett fans will be very pleased by the end of the season.' Plus, more Inside TV scoop!
The March 19 episode of Castle, screened tonight for a packed theater during PaleyFest in Los Angeles, has all the things that make a great standalone hour.
There’s a mind-bending case (involving a murder at a Dancing With the Stars-esque show), some hilarious interactions between Ryan (Seamus Dever) and Esposito (Jon Huertas), a few great scenes involving Martha (Susan Sullivan) and a rival from her past, and, of course, a revealing moment or two between one of TV’s best sort-of couples, Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Beckett (Stana Katic). But executive producer and creator Andrew Marlowe had a warning for the crowd before he showed the episode: Take some time to bask in the familiar lightness of the episode — because things are going to get heavy. “[It's] the last normal episode before the story weather hits,” he said during his introduction. Gulp.

TV Guide Scoop: Will Castle Go In Search of His Father?
During Castle's recent two-parter, Rick's former muse dropped a bombshell just before she was seemingly killed.
Sophia (guest star Jennifer Beals) hinted to Castle (Nathan Fillion) that his father may have had ties to the CIA, which would explain both his absence from Castle's life as well as the ease with which Castle was able to shadow a federal agent. The question remains: Is Sophia — who was revealed to actually be a Russian sleeper agent — being honest?
"I think [Castle] is evaluating whether Sophia was telling him the truth," creator and executive producer Andrew W. Marlowe tells TVGuide.com. "He doesn't have any way to really access it. So he is trying to figure out how to follow up on it, but I am not sure that he knows how."

I'm kind of bummed Castle killed off Sophia (Jennifer Beals). I liked the way she challenged Castle and Beckett. Is that weird? — Ashley
ADAM: It's a little weird. But we may not have seen the last of the Russian spy after all. "I always knew that she was going to be the bad guy and we were going to kill her in the end. But I also know that in any sort of CIA-inspired story, nobody is ever really dead for certain," creator Andrew W. Marlowe tells us. "I like to have my cake and eat it too. It's all depending on where our storytelling takes us and assuming that Jennifer had a good time and wants to come back and play with us." (OK, maybe it's not so weird after all...)

Keck's Exclusives: 'Castle' Stages 'Firefly' Reunion
Long before Nathan Fillion was solving crimes with Stana Katic on Castle, he was soaring through space on the short-lived cult fave Firefly. Now, for the first time, Castle is reuniting Nathan with one of his former co-stars on the ABC crime series.
In an episode slated for spring, Adam Baldwin, who played Firefly's Jayne Cobb to Nathan's Capt. Malcolm 'Mal' Reynolds, will guest star as a detective named Ethan Slaughter. (How's that for a character name?)
