I think ABC has actually improved in their support for the show, at least compared to what it once was.

This UST/ sweeping love story/ will they won't they has been the show pulse for three and a half years. Putting the leads together is a big deal for the writing and production of the show. Marlowe & Co. wrung every excruciating ounce from Caskett dissonance this season.
...And the confirmation that the show is gonna Go There is broken and scooped without sanction? Don't think so.
I don't begrudge Ausiello going about his Business, not just with Castle but everything else on air too, even if it comes across as irksome in handling sometimes.
Well, looks like we know part of the tension between Ryan and Esposito. Maybe Ryan decides to tell Gates, Gates tells Beckett she can't investigate, and Kate resigns, therefore causing even more friction between Ryan and Esposito??

They might even enter into a physical altercation leading upto Espo officially requesting a new partner. This might who knows could introduce a fresh blood in the precinct next fall...!!!
One partnership reaches new heights while the other clumbles! Just as you pointed earlier. The possible last scene could be intertwined between a love scene between B&C, while back at the precinct Javi officially requesting a new partner...!!!
I'm out if that happens. Ryan and Esposito are one of the main reasons I watch this show. I love those two. Castle wouldn't be Castle without them. I sucked it up and dealt with Montgomery leaving, I refuse to lose one of the boys.

In all seriousness if that happens I think Kate should help Javi to let his anger go. She has been betrayed many times, and can easily relate. Javi is about protecting his team and especially Kate. Mostly Kate because I think those two formed a brother and sister relationship before Ryan came along and then ryan formed a bro/Sis bond with Kate too, but I would love to see Kate be like Ryan didnt betray us Javi, He helped. And Javi says How? How dies rating you out help? And she says because gates and you caught my sniper. And so did he. He caught me. Plus I'm glad he told. You and ryan kept your jobs and I needed time away from mine to process everything. You have to forgive him Javi. Who else is going to tease me and Rick about our relationship? Darn it Javi what's the point of hiding a relationship from u two if nobody is going to threaten Rick or tease us about it?
Brit/ Anon 7.47 I definitely think that there will be a major confrontation and a sense of betryal between Javi and Kevin. As viewers we have always endulged in their bromance and gotten accustomed to the tight bond they share. This time around that bond will be tested and what we find are two individuals chosing very different paths to protect a woman they both love. She is family, she is their sister, she almost died in front of their eyes and they will do whatever they can to keep her safe. Ryan believes telling Gates will force her into pulling back, and Espo thinks that nothing will keep her away from JB case...the only way to ensure her safety is to bring down the house of cards once and for all and catch the snipper (by the books or not)!
So yes, in a way it still is about Beckett at the end of the day!
No worries, no damage will remain permanent between these brothers. AWM I am sure still maintains that he wants to bring the fun back into the show as had been in the past. I don't think this angst between them will last more than a episode or two as the whole team returns to status quo by the episode 2-3 for some shit load of awesome!
Also remember, just because Espo wants a new partner doesn't men he gets one (This is not kindergarden and partners dont grow on trees, Gates won't stand for peronal conflict at workplace). It might be more symbolic in nature and gives the viewers a sense where these characters are at the moment.

@Romy so true! Everything you said was true. Both boys have the best intentions for Kate, and want to do what they think will protect her. They both almost lost her last summer and they don't want their sister to get hurt anymore.
@Brit as you rightly pointed out Espo is far more attatched to Beckett than Ryan. They both care for her in their own way and its real but Espo is more protective of Beckett and their bond is deeper! We have witnessed that in many forms through their jouney, in contrast I feel Ryan is leans a bit towards Rick. Could be my imagination but that's what I felt. Though I firmly believe that both men have her best interest at heart, Espo is more selfless. There is a nagging feeling somewhere deep within me that despite Ryan's true intensions there is a need in him to play by the rules and protecting himself above all. This fundamental difference will ultimately begin to emerge at the end of the finale between these two partners who thought they knew each other so very well! I believe we as viewers would also feel threatened and compelled to pick sides! Its growth in its own way, no person or character can be one dimensional and I think we will get to witness some shades of Grey in Kevin and a peiriod of darkness! I am strangely attracted to this new arc, I don't necessarily want for it to last more than a few episodes but I do think it would be a brilliant plot that has a lot of potential. You can't certainly count for the fandom to go viral over how we are agaaaaain being tortuted..... but so long as we keep coming back the show will go on!
@Romy it is really interesting you say that. Im not disagreeing with you, but I would hate if Ryan was self centered like that. But as you rightly pointed out Ryan can have 2 intentions of wanting to tell gates it's either he wants to protect Kate and he believes getting gates to hold her back would keep Kate safe. Or he can tell gates because he doesn't want to get in trouble. I really hope it isn't the latter but honestly I really dont think it is. I mean Roy was a father to Ryan, espo and Kate. When they found out Roy was dirty, Kevin was able to accept the truth more than espo and Ryan agreed with all of them to keep Roy's secret. If all he cared about was his job he could've not just been apart of keeping roy's secret. He couldve just did his own thing. So I think ryan's true intention to tell gates will be to protect Kate from getting to deep and all of them having to lose her again. Espo reacts by his emotions and that's it. Ryan gets emotional too but tries to consider all angles. I think they are both selfless. And ya ryan seems to favor Rick but I totally think once caskett start dating, both Ryan and espo will be dishing up threats to Rick that he better not hurt their sister. This is just all my opinion by the way. But I see where your coming from
@Brit I don't necessarily think given what we have known about Kevin for all these years that he is selfish. I am wondering if its an angle that would be explored to bring out this different storyline. I don't believe that his initial intesion for going to Gates would be anything but in Kate's best interest, but as we all know once the information is out one has no control of how they recepient of that news will react. I fear such will be the case, knowing Gates it might spin a bit out of controls. It could also happen that the very revelation might just save her life...Gates might come to her rescue. The issue I suspect will be her resignation that will cause this drift between Ryan and Espo. Am I making sense?

Soo cruel:) The 2nd sneak peek was soo sad. Poor Kate. I want Rick to hig her or at least promise the other shoe won't drop. I really hope they catch the sniper, cause Kate carrying around that fear all theses months is too much. And poor Rick trying his best to play it down but he can't say anything after she says I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop. With the 3rd sneak peek, I think it's already getting to Javi. I assume him and Kate were the first two before Ryan came along to work with Roy. He was their father figure before he became one to anybody else. And did Kate call Rick, Richard?? With the 4th sneak peek Im pouting. This is how the 12th will never be the same. This sniper is gonna break both partnerships of caskett and the boys but in the end they will be ok, but both their relationships will change emotionally. OMG... First one is AWESOME... He's kinda stunned that she says yes to watching movies. I love the brotherly protection Javi has over Kate. I just love Alexis, full stop. I think watching movies is code for... finding out what Castles been hiding for the last year and having yet another fight????

Good sneak peeks but not as spoilery as last years (remember the castle and beckett arue scene at her apartment ...yeah that was a sneak peek last year). Anyways the crazy amazing promos were like sneak peeks themselves! I totally agree with you Elena! This is what AM met and it makes me nervous but from what we saw in the promo(the kiss) and knowing that its near the end of the episode I think its safe to assume that she forgives Castle for his secret and understands why he did it. So at first from the promos it looked like Castles secret would come out at her apartment but maybe it comes out at his loft... I dont know. So obviously it seems that most if not all the sneak peeks (except possiblt the Espisito\Ryan one or the alexis one ) are at the beginning of the episode . I think that when Kate is wearing the white shirt is the second day and when Castles secret comes out is the 2nd day on the case...at least thats what im hoping for...for castles secret to be out in the first half of the show (if not before!) Wooo Okay Im happy that didnt give away too much. So I have been thinking since technically Castle has not been renewed for a fifth season, I would imagine there has to be some type of conclusion right? I mean if it didnt get renewed (it will duh) but if it didnt they cant end the series with a cliffhanger. I guess its just my way of hoping for a happy ending so summer isnt a hellish wait.
that's what I've been thinking (and hoping)... I'm 90% sure that the cliffhanger will be Beckett getting to Rick's apartment, then lots of kisses and when things get even hotter the screen goes black, so it'll be like a 'happy ending' but we'll want MORE... Andrew Marlowe said that there would not be a break or a separation during the summer, but people will want to see what happens in the immediate aftermath.. so to me this makes a lot of sense... I'm happy with the direction this season finale is taking, though! :p

John Woo marathon...now that's a first date I can get behind. So perfect for them. I did that exact thing one night with friends in college. The thing about Woo movies, the character with two guns is always invincible. Wonder if that will figure in anywhere, a little homage somewhere. Oh, I doubt we'll actually get to see that scene, given the fight and the, errr, state of mind in which Kate arrives at the loft.

No ABC shows have been renewed yet. ABC will make its official renewal announcements (including Castle) in about 2 weeks at the Upfronts. It's basically a press conference or the networks to unveil their fall schedule. ABC renewed crazy early last year, so we were all spoiled. This year they've been waiting to see how new shows like GCB, Scandal, and Missing would do before designing their fall schedule. So, no worries. Castle WILL be renewed!
These weren't too spoilery.. but there's supposed to be another sneak peek released tomorrow that is.. I honestly think it's going to be the kiss.. and that sucks because I KNOW I won't be able to stop myself from watching it.

I think they were pretty judicious in what they released. The big ABC & CTV promos were much more revealing IMO.
LOOOOOOVED the first one especially. They're somehow both simply adorable and all chemistry at the same time.
I guess the Kevin/Espo thing will have a bigger fallout if Gates is in fact involved. That combined with Captain Montgomery's old case-files being stolen and now the NYPD has to officially investigate instead of going along with their story of his death, and Beckett's resignation, all really do combine in a way that the Precinct might never be the same.

When I think more and more about the situation with Ryan wanting to tell Gates about the case, I think that he will. Makes since. In the US promo it shows Beckett AND Esposito in Gates office whenever Kate resigns.
Gates would call them into her office to talk to them and they be in trouble for keeping information from her. Of course Ryan wouldn't because he's the one who told. And so Espo is mad at him for telling AND mad because that caused Beckett to quite and now she is on her own and in danger. Thoughts???
I think (hope) deep down they are both trying to protect Beckett in their own way. Ryan doe not want to break the rules and feels Gates will reign in Beckett and steer her away from harms way....while Espo thinks Beckett won't stop either way until they catch the Snipper....so why even complicate matters and tell Gates...b/c that might leave her more vulnerable to danger if she goes rogue! Question is, how far will Ryan go? And is he really doing it to protect Beckett or himself. He might be thinking that protecting all these people isn't worth losing his job. Also, can we trust Gates... we don't really know her very well and her intensions.

Moving on...I really think that Ryan will tell Gates everything. I don't think he'll do it to protect himself, but because he thinks it's the right thing to do. He wants to protect Beckett, and he feels that going through Gates is the most effective way of doing that. Maybe the reason we see both Kate and Javi in Gate's office is because she's going to fire/ suspend them, but Kate resigns before Gates can do anything. I think it's completely Marlowe's style to juxtapose the Castle/Beckett ship with the Ryan/Espo ship. One relationship gets stronger, the other crumbles. It makes me wonder whether the cliffhanger will involve Ryan and Espo this time around... I am dying waiting for Monday to arrive! Can we just skip the weekend??

I adore Nathan and Stana's chemisty and when Rick asked Kate in a roundabout way on a date and his look which was a mixture of surprise, delight, confusion and hope all mixed in. And she's looking as if she knows exactly what her response has done to him and she's loving it.
I've so missed these kind of interactions this season with all the secrets stuff hanging in the background and it's been like a lead weight on the characters which has spoiled the season for me but now we get to see them back to how it should be.
These two are just so adorable together, I can't wait until they become a proper couple. Marlowe please don't split them up. You can do anything else, blow up the precinct have Martha kidnapped by aliens but don't sink this ship!
yeah remember how Ryan was acting all paranoid in Rise about getting caught, and how he doesn't like getting caught doing the wrong thing. I do reckon he tells Gates about it because he thinks that they will get in less trouble now than they will later and that he is trying to do the best for his friends, keep them safe from danger. i love Ryan he's so cute the only question is if Beckett resigns, then how does she get back on the job because this is a cop show in the end so that will be interesting to see, but i think we will get the answer to that question the continuing episode (as it is meant to be a 2 ep arc over the hiatus) 5x01 :)!! and i dont know if u guys kno this already but there is goin to be a SCREAM (sneak) PEEK released tomorrow morning (which i assume will be in about 8 or so hours from now) that is scream squeel and fangirl worthy....I CANT WAIT!!! -Carina
Loved the way Rick nervously asked her out and she teasingly said yes with a big flirty smile on her face and his reaction - so cute! God I've missed these two being happy together. I don't know why Marlowe worries about getting them together they would make an adorable couple and still be interesting - so come on get them together please!

Clearly the Ryan/Espo chat ties in with what Seamus talked about that there is a big issue between them and that was the build up of it there.
Loved the fear Rick was feeling when Kate was talking about the break in you can see he's thinking a mile a minute about those files he's got!
These look like clips from early on to me, his secret comming out I think appears a little later on but not too late, the sex (if it happens) is after that.
About Ausiello, I'm sorry but the guy is a douche the way he worded the statement that he would have someone ASK the question and it be answered was an awful way to mislead the fans - he did ANSWER because he said I'll tell you in 2 weeks and that was his way of getting around it.
He looks like an idiot pulling a cheap trick like that -just pathetic.
Well, what do you expect from Ausiello? I just started following him a few months ago, and I figure out pretty quickly to take everything he says with a whole heap of salt. Ausiello's job is to hype up the show, to keep fans interested and on their toes. He's been know to stretch the truth to the breaking point before, misleading (and angering) many fans. It's the same when you read spoiler articles and interviews from the cast. They're there to get you excited for the episode, but most of it is composed of half- truths and fluff. It's fun to read it and speculate, but it's up to us to take it for what it is- fluff.
That is totally fine to get the fans attention, but this guy didn't leave a whole load of salt--he left a lump of coal. He lied. Flatly lied. All he had to say was 'I can't say' instead of getting people to tune into his spoilerAlert program with high hopes.
The guy has always lied about spoiler teases in the past, so really, this should have been a clue. As far as the cast interviews, I have yet for anyone to flat out lie about what they are saying. Sure, they build it up and fluff it up, but never lie about how they feel or think the viewers would react. And, also, the cast is under some contractual obligations not to give away things not meant to be known yet. They can hint and stuff all they want, but can't directly say anything, so they add a little fluff and circumstance in there to help fans out in a way that isn't breeching contracts.
When Kate said she was just waiting for the other shoe to fall, you can see it hit Castle - all the ramifications. He was just worried about keeping her safe, never thinking his participation would leave her in a constant state of unrest. That's alot to take in. So whether she pursues the case or not, she'll always be looking over her shoulder. This was a great lead in to him revealing his part to her. He has to tell her WHY she's been kept safe. And of course Kate's going to be angry. She'll know why, and even understand why he did it, but how could she be expected to be right with it? Even though it wasn't his place, there was no choice.
10.06PM coming back to say I really loved Nathan in that scene showing his fear because that's good acting when you know what the person is thinking without them having to say a word and he totally nailed it for me there.
He now realises that the clock is running out on his secret and he's going to surely have to come clean, he suddenly realises the pain keeping this secret has caused her unwittingly but then he knows that she may never forgive him just as they seem to be moving forward!
I guess this is the "couldn't happen at the worst time" scenario Marlowe talked about.
If her therapy sessions and this story line mean anything then she should be angry but then forgive him and move on from her mother's murder. If they choose to just undo the lot and have her go awol about all this then the whole idea of her trying to get better and be ready for "them" has been a total waste of my viewing time.
Just hope Marlowe doesn't go there, it would be disappointing for me.

I debated whether or not to watch the sneaks, but of course I caved because I'm weak-I'm happy that they're not too spoilery. I squealed when Kate accepted Castle's date invite and then my heart melted when she asked for reassurance from him. That's why I love these sneak peeks. It gives me time to freak out over and digest the smaller things so they're not overshadowed by the more intense things sure to come in this episode.
Does that make sense? If not, I came up with this handy- dandy metaphor. Castle is like a bag of candy. It's better to savor a few pieces over a couple of days than to eat the whole thing in one sitting, which will cause you to get sick. Or, in the case of the Castle fandom, explode from the sheer amount of awesomeness that is Caskett. ;)

You can watch them without fear of ruining the episode. I debated too, but then I remembered that it's the last set of sneaks we'll get this season, and it's fun to watch them and then speculate with everyone on what will happen. Watching the sneak peeks has never ruined an episode for me, it just makes the wait a little easier! ;)

OK PEOPLE I NEED YOUR HELP. i have resisted the urge to watch the sneak peeks and read any of the comments above. but i'm starting to break... To watch or not to watch? that is the question.....
I just went through the same thing a while ago, I watched them and like Romy said ... the sneaks aren't too spoilerish although I didn't watch #4 cause Romy said not to.
These sneaks really aren't too spoilery. There are no pivotal scenes- not like when they showed the scene in 47 seconds when Kate blurts out that she knew everything. These scenes just set up the episode. Remember, it's still 3 whole days until Monday, so I say go for it!
haha loving it can't wait!! btw who would love to see meredith, gina and beckett face off in season 5, that would be fun!? and castle and fan caught in the middle ;-) awkward....
I HAVE A QUESTION- Maggie Furlong tweeted 'the sneak peek will post by 9 am ET' 4 hours ago. Does it mean more sneaks or what?? Sorry, I don't live in US so I don't even know exactly what 'ET' means..
I'm not from the US either but I think it means 9am eastern time. So when it's 9am in new York I think another sneak peek is gonna be released. And apparently it's gonna be a really good one.
ET is short for Eastern Time, which is the New York side of the United States. Right now it is 7am here, so two more hours to go. And yes, she says this is a scream worthy sneek peek, and I think this will be the final peek for the Finale.
Remember guys, California, where they produce Castle, is 3 hours behind the eastern timezone. So it is 7am here, and in LA it is only 4am.
First sneak peak is definitely my favorite!! i hope they actually have that scene, though they probably wont.
Does anyone else think ryan and esposito seem a bit out of character? I cannot believe that espo would try to push beckett back into her mothers murder when they have no idea for sure if thats what its about, and it will be putting her in danger again. And I was shocked when ryan wanted to tell gates that they were investigating her mothers murder.
I don't see it as Ryan and Espo being out of character- it's just that most often they're the comic relief and we rarely see them in such a serious situation. From that sneak peek. it looks more like this episode will add layers to both of their characters.
I don't think Espo is pushing Beckett to look into her mother's murder, I just think he's being realistic about the fact that she won't quit even if Gates ordered her to stop. I mean, look at her history. Every time Montgomery threw her out of the precinct in the past, she kept investigating anyway. Espo doesn't want her to get in trouble with Gates on top of investigating the murder.
That said, Ryan is looking out for Beckett as well, he's just acting in a different way than Espo. I have a suspicion that Ryan will tell Gates everything, because it's inevitable that she'll find out eventually. Ryan just wants to protect Beckett from herself, and maybe he thinks going through Gates will be the most effective way.
I think that both bros are going to act as they see fit, and they'll come to blows over the results. Ryan and Espo are going to have their friendship and partnership tested, and we'll have to wait to see what the outcome will be.

DeleteI just couldn't figure out how the network or studio would sanction such a thing, even if the promos pretty much lead one to conclude something significant between the leads will take place.
Ausiello depends on good graces, and also web hits.
I think ABC has actually improved in their support for the show, at least compared to what it once was.
Anyways. Ausiello was cryptica as is typical, but I don't think he really promised anyone anything.
This UST/ sweeping love story/ will they won't they has been the show pulse for three and a half years. Putting the leads together is a big deal for the writing and production of the show. Marlowe & Co. wrung every excruciating ounce from Caskett dissonance this season.
...And the confirmation that the show is gonna Go There is broken and scooped without sanction? Don't think so.
I don't begrudge Ausiello going about his Business, not just with Castle but everything else on air too, even if it comes across as irksome in handling sometimes.

I'm out if that happens. Ryan and Esposito are one of the main reasons I watch this show. I love those two. Castle wouldn't be Castle without them. I sucked it up and dealt with Montgomery leaving, I refuse to lose one of the boys.

In all seriousness if that happens I think Kate should help Javi to let his anger go. She has been betrayed many times, and can easily relate. Javi is about protecting his team and especially Kate. DeleteI definitely think that there will be a major confrontation and a sense of betryal between Javi and Kevin. As viewers we have always endulged in their bromance and gotten accustomed to the tight bond they share. This time around that bond will be tested and what we find are two individuals chosing very different paths to protect a woman they both love. She is family, she is their sister, she almost died in front of their eyes and they will do whatever they can to keep her safe. Ryan believes telling Gates will force her into pulling back, and Espo thinks that nothing will keep her away from JB case...the only way to ensure her safety is to bring down the house of cards once and for all and catch the snipper (by the books or not)!
So yes, in a way it still is about Beckett at the end of the day!
No worries, no damage will remain permanent between these brothers. AWM I am sure still maintains that he wants to bring the fun back into the show as had been in the past. I don't think this angst between them will last more than a episode or two as the whole team returns to status quo by the episode 2-3 for some shit load of awesome!
Also remember, just because Espo wants a new partner doesn't men he gets one (This is not kindergarden and partners dont grow on trees, Gates won't stand for peronal conflict at workplace). It might be more symbolic in nature and gives the viewers a sense where these characters are at the moment.
Focus... the kiss!!! Yes they are the Blind Item. Asiello dodged that question b/c that would be giving it away!
@Romy so true! Everything you said was true. Both boys have the best intentions for Kate, and want to do what they think will protect her. They both almost lost her last summer and they don't want their sister to get hurt anymore.
Delete@Brit as you rightly pointed out Espo is far more attatched to Beckett than Ryan. They both care for her in their own way and its real but Espo is more protective of Beckett and their bond is deeper! We have witnessed that in many forms through their jouney, in contrast I feel Ryan is leans a bit towards Rick. Could be my imagination but that's what I felt.
DeleteThough I firmly believe that both men have her best interest at heart, Espo is more selfless. There is a nagging feeling somewhere deep within me that despite Ryan's true intensions there is a need in him to play by the rules and protecting himself above all. This fundamental difference will ultimately begin to emerge at the end of the finale between these two partners who thought they knew each other so very well! I believe we as viewers would also feel threatened and compelled to pick sides! Its growth in its own way, no person or character can be one dimensional and I think we will get to witness some shades of Grey in Kevin and a peiriod of darkness!
I am strangely attracted to this new arc, I don't necessarily want for it to last more than a few episodes but I do think it would be a brilliant plot that has a lot of potential. You can't certainly count for the fandom to go viral over how we are agaaaaain being tortuted..... but so long as we keep coming back the show will go on!
@Romy it is really interesting you say that. Im not disagreeing with you, but I would hate if Ryan was self centered like that. But as you rightly pointed out Ryan can have 2 intentions of wanting to tell gates it's either he wants to protect Kate and he believes getting gates to hold her back would keep Kate safe. Or he can tell gates because he doesn't want to get in trouble. I really hope it isn't the latter but honestly I really dont think it is. I mean Roy was a father to Ryan, espo and Kate. When they found out Roy was dirty, Kevin was able to accept the truth more than espo and Ryan agreed with all of them to keep Roy's secret. If all he cared about was his job he could've not just been apart of keeping roy's secret. He couldve just did his own thing. So I think ryan's true intention to tell gates will be to protect Kate from getting to deep and all of them having to lose her again. Espo reacts by his emotions and that's it. Ryan gets emotional too but tries to consider all angles. I think they are both selfless. And ya ryan seems to favor Rick but I totally think once caskett start dating, both Ryan and espo will be dishing up threats to Rick that he better not hurt their sister. This is just all my opinion by the way. But I see where your coming from

I am wondering if its an angle that would be explored to bring out this different storyline. I don't believe that his initial intesion for going to Gates would be anything but in Kate's best interest, but as we all know once the information is out one has no control of how they recepient of that news will react. I fear such will be the case, knowing Gates it might spin a bit out of controls. It could also happen that the very revelation might just save her life...Gates might come to her rescue. The issue I suspect will be her resignation that will cause this drift between Ryan and Espo.

At least I have Castle- it's the best part f my week, but Alexis' situation is bringing back painful memories. Sorry, I know this is not terribly reassuring. ;)

I really hope they catch the sniper, cause Kate carrying around that fear all theses months is too much. And poor Rick trying his best to play it down but he can't say anything after she says I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop.
With the 3rd sneak peek, I think it's already getting to Javi. I assume him and Kate were the first two before Ryan came along to work with Roy. He was their father figure before he became one to anybody else. And did Kate call Rick, Richard??
With the 4th sneak peek Im pouting. This is how the 12th will never be the same. This sniper is gonna break both partnerships of caskett and the boys but in the end they will be ok, but both their relationships will change emotionally. But I'm not worried, they wouldn't ruin the bromance. Or the romance. And I wanna hug Ryan. He just wants to do the right thing. I think the case already got to Javi and Ryan feels helpless cause Kate is his sis but he wants to tell gates and do the right thing. I think in the end Ryan will tell gates AND he'll be the one to catch Kate.

Good sneak peeks but not as spoilery as last years (remember the castle and beckett arue scene at her apartment ...yeah that was a sneak peek last year). Anyways the crazy amazing promos were like sneak peeks themselves!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you Elena! This is what AM met and it makes me nervous but from what we saw in the promo(the kiss) and knowing that its near the end of the episode I think its safe to assume that she forgives Castle for his secret and understands why he did it.
So at first from the promos it looked like Castles secret would come out at her apartment but maybe it comes out at his loft... I dont know.
So obviously it seems that most if not all the sneak peeks (except possiblt the Espisito\Ryan one or the alexis one ) are at the beginning of the episode . I think that when Kate is wearing the white shirt is the second day and when Castles secret comes out is the 2nd day on the case...at least thats what im hoping for...for castles secret to be out in the first half of the show (if not before!)

I am 100% sure that Castles secret will come out towards the middle and at her apartment. Just a feeling of confidence. LOL I know I'm right....LOL And so towards the end when whatever is solved with Beckett and the case or whatever happens, she will go to his apartment for the movie night.

So I have been thinking since technically Castle has not been renewed for a fifth season, I would imagine there has to be some type of conclusion right? I mean if it didnt get renewed (it will duh) but if it didnt they cant end the series with a cliffhanger. I guess its just my way of hoping for a happy ending so summer isnt a hellish wait.

I'm 90% sure that the cliffhanger will be Beckett getting to Rick's apartment, then lots of kisses and when things get even hotter the screen goes black, so it'll be like a 'happy ending' but we'll want MORE... Andrew Marlowe said that there would not be a break or a separation during the summer, but people will want to see what happens in the immediate aftermath.. so to me this makes a lot of sense... I'm happy with the direction this season finale is taking, though! :p

John Woo marathon...now that's a first date I can get behind. So perfect for them. I did that exact thing one night with friends in college. The thing about Woo movies, the character with two guns is always invincible. Wonder if that will figure in anywhere, a little homage somewhere. Oh, I doubt we'll actually get to see that scene, given the fight and the, errr, state of mind in which Kate arrives at the loft.

They're most likely waiting for the upfronts later this month. Waiting for word on most ABC shows.
DeleteNo ABC shows have been renewed yet. ABC will make its official renewal announcements (including Castle) in about 2 weeks at the Upfronts. It's basically a press conference or the networks to unveil their fall schedule. ABC renewed crazy early last year, so we were all spoiled. This year they've been waiting to see how new shows like GCB, Scandal, and Missing would do before designing their fall schedule. So, no worries. Castle WILL be renewed!

ReplyDeleteI think they were pretty judicious in what they released. The big ABC & CTV promos were much more revealing IMO.
LOOOOOOVED the first one especially. They're somehow both simply adorable and all chemistry at the same time.
I guess the Kevin/Espo thing will have a bigger fallout if Gates is in fact involved. That combined with Captain Montgomery's old case-files being stolen and now the NYPD has to officially investigate instead of going along with their story of his death, and Beckett's resignation, all really do combine in a way that the Precinct might never be the same.

I wasn't convinced that Caskett might be the blind item until I saw the Seamus interview, and Nathan saying this year's finale would be more like dessert and less life & death. Well, that and the door-slamming promos, lol.

When I think more and more about the situation with Ryan wanting to tell Gates about the case, I think that he will. Makes since. In the US promo it shows Beckett AND Esposito in Gates office whenever Kate resigns.

And so Espo is mad at him for telling AND mad because that caused Beckett to quite and now she is on her own and in danger. Thoughts???
I think (hope) deep down they are both trying to protect Beckett in their own way. Ryan doe not want to break the rules and feels Gates will reign in Beckett and steer her away from harms way....while Espo thinks Beckett won't stop either way until they catch the Snipper....so why even complicate matters and tell Gates...b/c that might leave her more vulnerable to danger if she goes rogue!
DeleteQuestion is, how far will Ryan go? And is he really doing it to protect Beckett or himself. He might be thinking that protecting all these people isn't worth losing his job. Also, can we trust Gates... we don't really know her very well and her intensions.

DeleteMoving on...I really think that Ryan will tell Gates everything. I don't think he'll do it to protect himself, but because he thinks it's the right thing to do. He wants to protect Beckett, and he feels that going through Gates is the most effective way of doing that. Maybe the reason we see both Kate and Javi in Gate's office is because she's going to fire/ suspend them, but Kate resigns before Gates can do anything. I think it's completely Marlowe's style to juxtapose the Castle/Beckett ship with the Ryan/Espo ship. One relationship gets stronger, the other crumbles. It makes me wonder whether the cliffhanger will involve Ryan and Espo this time around... I am dying waiting for Monday to arrive! Can we just skip the weekend??

DeleteI do believe that both Ryan and Espo has Kate's best interest at heart and wants to keep her safe in their own way. Only the decisions they make has domino effect and things don't really go as each hoped.
I guess that if Beckett does infact resign it would be because it would be the right thing to since she was the one that asked them to cover up Monty's involvement( in her pov). I guess somehow Ryan n Esposito is at risk of either getting fired so she takes the wrap n resigns. sounds convincing.

DeleteI adore Nathan and Stana's chemisty and when Rick asked Kate in a roundabout way on a date and his look which was a mixture of surprise, delight, confusion and hope all mixed in. And she's looking as if she knows exactly what her response has done to him and she's loving it.
DeleteI've so missed these kind of interactions this season with all the secrets stuff hanging in the background and it's been like a lead weight on the characters which has spoiled the season for me but now we get to see them back to how it should be.
These two are just so adorable together, I can't wait until they become a proper couple. Marlowe please don't split them up. You can do anything else, blow up the precinct have Martha kidnapped by aliens but don't sink this ship!
yeah remember how Ryan was acting all paranoid in Rise about getting caught, and how he doesn't like getting caught doing the wrong thing. I do reckon he tells Gates about it because he thinks that they will get in less trouble now than they will later and that he is trying to do the best for his friends, keep them safe from danger. i love Ryan he's so cute
ReplyDeletethe only question is if Beckett resigns, then how does she get back on the job because this is a cop show in the end so that will be interesting to see, but i think we will get the answer to that question the continuing episode (as it is meant to be a 2 ep arc over the hiatus) 5x01 :)!!
and i dont know if u guys kno this already but there is goin to be a SCREAM (sneak) PEEK released tomorrow morning (which i assume will be in about 8 or so hours from now) that is scream squeel and fangirl worthy....I CANT WAIT!!!

ReplyDeleteLoved the way Rick nervously asked her out and she teasingly said yes with a big flirty smile on her face and his reaction - so cute! God I've missed these two being happy together. I don't know why Marlowe worries about getting them together they would make an adorable couple and still be interesting - so come on get them together please!
And had to laugh that they signposted that Martha and Alexis will NOT be there that night! So they can get up to whatever they want.
Clearly the Ryan/Espo chat ties in with what Seamus talked about that there is a big issue between them and that was the build up of it there.
Loved the fear Rick was feeling when Kate was talking about the break in you can see he's thinking a mile a minute about those files he's got!
These look like clips from early on to me, his secret comming out I think appears a little later on but not too late, the sex (if it happens) is after that.
About Ausiello, I'm sorry but the guy is a douche the way he worded the statement that he would have someone ASK the question and it be answered was an awful way to mislead the fans - he did ANSWER because he said I'll tell you in 2 weeks and that was his way of getting around it.
He looks like an idiot pulling a cheap trick like that -just pathetic.
Well, what do you expect from Ausiello? I just started following him a few months ago, and I figure out pretty quickly to take everything he says with a whole heap of salt. Ausiello's job is to hype up the show, to keep fans interested and on their toes. He's been know to stretch the truth to the breaking point before, misleading (and angering) many fans. It's the same when you read spoiler articles and interviews from the cast. They're there to get you excited for the episode, but most of it is composed of half- truths and fluff. It's fun to read it and speculate, but it's up to us to take it for what it is- fluff.

DeleteThe guy has always lied about spoiler teases in the past, so really, this should have been a clue.
As far as the cast interviews, I have yet for anyone to flat out lie about what they are saying. Sure, they build it up and fluff it up, but never lie about how they feel or think the viewers would react. And, also, the cast is under some contractual obligations not to give away things not meant to be known yet. They can hint and stuff all they want, but can't directly say anything, so they add a little fluff and circumstance in there to help fans out in a way that isn't breeching contracts.
When Kate said she was just waiting for the other shoe to fall, you can see it hit Castle - all the ramifications. He was just worried about keeping her safe, never thinking his participation would leave her in a constant state of unrest. That's alot to take in. So whether she pursues the case or not, she'll always be looking over her shoulder. This was a great lead in to him revealing his part to her. He has to tell her WHY she's been kept safe. And of course Kate's going to be angry. She'll know why, and even understand why he did it, but how could she be expected to be right with it? Even though it wasn't his place, there was no choice.

DeleteHe now realises that the clock is running out on his secret and he's going to surely have to come clean, he suddenly realises the pain keeping this secret has caused her unwittingly but then he knows that she may never forgive him just as they seem to be moving forward!
I guess this is the "couldn't happen at the worst time" scenario Marlowe talked about.
If her therapy sessions and this story line mean anything then she should be angry but then forgive him and move on from her mother's murder. If they choose to just undo the lot and have her go awol about all this then the whole idea of her trying to get better and be ready for "them" has been a total waste of my viewing time.
Just hope Marlowe doesn't go there, it would be disappointing for me.

I debated whether or not to watch the sneaks, but of course I caved because I'm weak-I'm happy that they're not too spoilery. I squealed when Kate accepted Castle's date invite and then my heart melted when she asked for reassurance from him. That's why I love these sneak peeks. It gives me time to freak out over and digest the smaller things so they're not overshadowed by the more intense things sure to come in this episode.
ReplyDeleteDoes that make sense? If not, I came up with this handy- dandy metaphor. Castle is like a bag of candy. It's better to savor a few pieces over a couple of days than to eat the whole thing in one sitting, which will cause you to get sick. Or, in the case of the Castle fandom, explode from the sheer amount of awesomeness that is Caskett. ;)

I debated too, but then I remembered that it's the last set of sneaks we'll get this season, and it's fun to watch them and then speculate with everyone on what will happen. DeleteThese sneaks really aren't too spoilery. There are no pivotal scenes- not like when they showed the scene in 47 seconds when Kate blurts out that she knew everything. These scenes just set up the episode. Remember, it's still 3 whole days until Monday, so I say go for it!

I'm not from the US either but I think it means 9am eastern time. So when it's 9am in new York I think another sneak peek is gonna be released. And apparently it's gonna be a really good one.
DeleteET is short for Eastern Time, which is the New York side of the United States. Right now it is 7am here, so two more hours to go. And yes, she says this is a scream worthy sneek peek, and I think this will be the final peek for the Finale.

ReplyDeleteDoes anyone else think ryan and esposito seem a bit out of character? I cannot believe that espo would try to push beckett back into her mothers murder when they have no idea for sure if thats what its about, and it will be putting her in danger again. And I was shocked when ryan wanted to tell gates that they were investigating her mothers murder.
I don't see it as Ryan and Espo being out of character- it's just that most often they're the comic relief and we rarely see them in such a serious situation. From that sneak peek. it looks more like this episode will add layers to both of their characters.
DeleteI don't think Espo is pushing Beckett to look into her mother's murder, I just think he's being realistic about the fact that she won't quit even if Gates ordered her to stop. I mean, look at her history. Every time Montgomery threw her out of the precinct in the past, she kept investigating anyway. Espo doesn't want her to get in trouble with Gates on top of investigating the murder.
That said, Ryan is looking out for Beckett as well, he's just acting in a different way than Espo. I have a suspicion that Ryan will tell Gates everything, because it's inevitable that she'll find out eventually. Ryan just wants to protect Beckett from herself, and maybe he thinks going through Gates will be the most effective way.
I think that both bros are going to act as they see fit, and they'll come to blows over the results. Ryan and Espo are going to have their friendship and partnership tested, and we'll have to wait to see what the outcome will be.
"Say something reassuring" is the nicest line in all of these sneaks!
