Castle‘s season finale just got a lot more interesting.
Sources confirm to TVLine exclusively that Battlestar Galactica and Dollhouse vet Tahmoh Penikett has landed a potentially recurring gig on the ABC drama that kicks off in the emotional May 7 finale.

Deleteno AM said they won't be touching on the Castle's dad thing until next season. 4x16 was as much as we were gonna get for this season. He obviously can't be castle's dad anyway, he's too young. But he could be Castle's half-brother from his dad's side, that would be interesting. But I think AM said the finale will be an especially emotional one for Kate, so I'm assuming it has something to do with her. If it is her shooter, then I guess the beginning of next season will include scenes of his trial.

DeleteMaybe he looks like a bad guy at first but he just wants to take down the dragon too? that'd be nice twist. Also recurring could mean he's in the final episode and if castle is officially renewed (no need to worry about that) he will be in the first episode of s5.
ReplyDeleteHe's Castle's half brother - that 's the tie to dad. And the returning character is Montgomery 's wife making connection between Roy and Smith. I am signing this so when it turns out to be right I can claim it. BJW

DeleteThe 'Castle's Half Brother' part seems a bit far-stretched, but then again ... we wouldn't/couldn't have known the Montgomery story.

DeleteI've been thinking kidnapping too. If both Castle and Beckett are taken, there's your cliffhanger AND it would break the pattern of them being separated over the summer.
DeleteI'm thinking involuntary separation as well this summer - kidnapping a possibility, but also one ends up in jail or in hiding (would make sense if they needed to take Roy's family into hiding too).
DeleteI'm thinking involuntary separation, too. I was betting prison because if one of them were kidnapped they'd probably break out before 3 months went by. Nobody wants to see them mad over the summer but we all want to see them awkwardly try to work together after they've gotten together (and they either have to be together or move on with their lives at this point--I'm with Martha). Then again, maybe given the book synopsis, Beckett will be going to Europe.
DeleteIts really not so bad, me personally would like to NOT miss the initial stages of their Romance and Banter! Kidnapping does just that, postpones the dating process untill we return for Season 5!!! Plus they are emotionally connected the entire summer...

DeleteOk i have a strong feeling that this guy, Cole Maddox, turns out to be Becketts sniper, 'cold and calculating'. And because the season will end on a cliff hanger the story will have to continue, so thats how he'l be in 2 episodes. I just had a thought that maybe the cliff-hanger is that this sniper guy holds Beckett at gun point or something (i imagined in her apartment but i have no idea how he would get in there...) and Castle is there and then he jumps in front and says if you want to kill her your going to have to kill me first. And i just had another thought that maybe Castle shoots and kills the sniper (coz AM does love irony) then coz Castle killed a man....you know all the police stuff the comes afterwards. Or maybe not coz thats too much like the S3 premiere....anyway. Cole Maddox is not Castles half brother AM said we already did the Soap Opera episode LOL
ReplyDeleteI think the returning character will be Montys wife because we saw her in 3x23 and 3x24! And seeing as Castle secret does come out in the finale i reckon that finding a lead on the case and watching Beckett react is gonna turn Castles love switch right back on. IT will be interesting to watch them put everything on the table and confront their feelings directly! ahhhhhhhh i cant wait!!!

It would make a great story to have these detectives kill the sniper and then have to figure out how to get away with murder...

ReplyDeleteIf Beckett's mother's murder is solved, there does need to be a new major story arc... :) it would be intriguing for them to basically become the people they were fighting against, but feel it was for all the "right" reasons.
