Richard Castle’s hurting — and it’s not easy to watch. In fact, it’s downright heartbreaking.
After learning in last week’s episode that
Beckett (Stana Katic) remembered everything about being shot
(including, you’ll recall, Castle’s confession of love), Castle (Nathan
Fillion) is looking for a way to deal with an influx of disappointment.
His solution? Apparently flaunting a blonde in front of Beckett in
tonight’s episode! But there’s so much more underneath his playboy
guise, says executive producer and creator Andrew Marlowe.
“I think he feels like if he confronts her, it’s just gonna be a big
ego blow, so it’s better for him to swallow it at this point, which
gives us a little bit of drama in the next couple episodes,” he says.
And with only four episodes (including tonight’s) left in the rest of
the season, the drama will come fast and furious, stemming first from
the fact that poor Beckett has no idea why Castle is giving her the cold
shoulder. But her confusion and — in a way — her sense of loss from his
apparent “drifting away” could prompt Beckett to make some bold
actions. “She’s wondering if she needs to declare herself, and she’s
feeling ready…but then he’s acting out.

ReplyDeletehahahaha u just made my night lol :) ^^

AND OMG I CANT WAIT FOR THIS FINALEE!!!!!!!! ITS GOING TO BE AWESOME!! (even if Castles not allowed to day the word now...) :)

Yes, this confirms it, no forward movement until 'Always.' I'm a hardcore fan, but maybe I just need to see Always, know that it ends well and then watch these last two yet-to-air episodes. My heart can not take this. I am waaaayyyy overinvested in these characters. To top it off, I live in Jakarta where they are just about to finish season 3 and start season 4. Which means, "Knock Out" and "Rise" - I really can't watch either without this crushing pain in my chest. I ache for them to be together.
ReplyDeleteTotal agree with you. They can't give us an episode titled "Always" and then have Castle and Beckett mad at each other.
DeleteOh, try Hulu or Blinxx .com to watch Castle. Here in Canada, ABC .com and Hulu don't work, so I use Blinxx or CTV. ca which may work where you are.
Katrina
I am seriously considering watching all the episodes from now til "ALWAYS" on the last night. The angst and heartbreak are killing me. I really can't stand Castle right now either. This is both their faults because neither of them talk about how they feel, but his behavior is just mean and spiteful. She has never purposely rubbed anyone in his face. With Demming she tried to spare his feelings. With Josh we hardly saw him, here he is making sure he turns the knife in her, about him moving on constantly. Not the Castle I have grown to love. The man we all wished really existed.
ReplyDeleteI don't see it as mean. Just immature. And thoughtless. He doesn't think that she cares about him in a romantic way. So he isn't doing anything to twist a knife in her. He is protecting his own ego and trying to prove to himself (in part by showing her), that he can be happy without her. Granted, he's wrong...
DeleteI totally agree with you, Anon 6:43. It's exactly how I think about the way he is acting.
DeleteAgree with both of the last two comments. To the first comment, remember, Castle thinks Beckett's been toying with his feelings: not telling him she wants to stay friends. He doesn't realize she loves him and he's hurt and his ego is bruised and he's not going to confront her so he's trying to forget his feelings for her. I nearly cried during 4x20 when Castle was being such a b**ch to Kate. Then I remembered how much more amazing 4x23 will be when their conflict is resolved after sitting through all the angst.
DeleteThis I think is the reason I won't stop watching -
ReplyDelete"but since we know where their going, we don't have as much anxiety as the fans do."- AM
Yet can I just say... No shit you don't.
see it gonna be good in the end always
ReplyDeleteI simply hope tha t something or someone, like martha for example, tels Beckett to let Castle living on his own, then she reacts and finaly understands why Castle is acting like a jerk and then evrything is going to become fine.
ReplyDeleteI think Richard Castle is going to go from most hated (currently) to most liked fictional mystery writer in the last three remaining episodes of the season.
ReplyDeleteLook, they've made no secret about the fact that BOTH Rick and Kate are scared of confronting each other over their feelings because they fear rejection (in Rick's case), or that they might not last (as Kate thinks). While Rick's behaviour is pushing the boundaries of good taste (and has caused many a "fan" to get a bit flustered judging by the Discussion Post for The Limey), it might just be the rocket that gets fired up Beckett's backside that sparks her into action. Admittedly it's a pretty big rocket!
I'm picking that working with Ethan Slaughter will actually make Rick realize how much he valued working with the detectives and how much he misses working with Kate. Despite all that has happened so far since her secret came out he still has deep feelings for her. His anger only appears to be superficial and I think that all it will take is for Kate to go for broke and completely open up to him. I think once she does this he will feel a bit embarrassed that he went AWOL on her but knowing him he won't show it!
According to Andrew Marlowe, Rick's secret is supposedly coming out at the worst possible moment imaginable. I wonder if this is directly after Kate finally opens up to him. Maybe she discovers his murder board, or he realizes that since she has opened up to him that he needs to follow suit and goes on to reveal his secret to her. Many people are picking that Kate will spit the dummy when she finds out that Rick has been keeping her away from her mother's case for so long, and that's a fair assessment. Auseillo was hinting that someone who we haven't seen all season will be returning towards the end of this season. I feel that the only person this could be is Jim Beckett. Once Kate discovers Rick's secret it's highly likely that she will confide in her father. If this does happen it would be great if he told her that he pleaded with Rick to make sure she didn't throw her life away (way back in Knockout). That would certainly help the detective cool off. I know it would effectively mean cramming a whole heap of emotional stuff into the next two episodes (and there is probably a case to have had the season extended out to 24 episodes like Seasons two and three were), but I would love to see both Rick and Kate on the same page heading into the finale, where it seems that the so far mysterious "Dragon" character may finally be exposed.
I like this. The only thing is, the existence of Castle's murder board is not really the secret, is it? It's more Mr. Smith and the possibility of new leads (from him & Dial M for Mayor case). If, upon seeing the board, Kate questions Rick and then he either refuses information or confesses, then I could see her getting pissed off. Until then, it might just seem sweet that he's trying to solve this so they could be together as per swing conversation. Or, who knows, he could end up explaining some new leads to Ryan/Espo, and Kate could find out badly. However it happens, the point is, it seems like it won't be an accident when Castle's secret comes out... it can't just be happened upon; it requires a more conscious effort/more awareness of the situation/repercussions. Should be... fun?
DeleteI've kind of wondered if Castle's secret will come out through Mr. Smith showing up somewhere/sometime when both Castle and Beckett are there (the 'worst possible time'-I'd like to think this is when Rick and Kate have a heart-to-heart or hooking up but I think it's not in their characters to communicate that openly, so who knows). I doubt it's something Castle will admit to (I don't think we'll ever hear a conversation that goes, 'well, now that you said you love me, Kate, let me tell you in full disclosure that I've been trying to solve your mom's murder case without you because some mysterious man called me and told me to distract you from it') but I think you're right that just stumbling on the murder board won't be enough to get the full weight of it.
DeleteI'm wondering if there's a twist where somehow this secret brings them together in a way that we can't see/comprehend now (because now it seems like Beckett would only be pissed). All official spoilers have not ever said Beckett gets mad only that she is "emotionally raw." When's the worst imaginable time to get emotionally raw?
When the person you love's life is hanging in the balance...
DeleteMaybe Smith gets killed, and they find his burner cell(s) with calls to Castle!
DeleteCastle's behavior in the Limey was just like a wounded animal lashing out by being completely immature, and I'm glad AM confirms it. Hopefully the tide of hate will change now that he's come out and explained the characterization (which IMO wasn't needed, but people seemed to be going completely crazy about this.)
ReplyDeleteso..basically castles behavior wont change till the finale...and its dosents seem like hes gonna tell kate why his behavior has changed...so is she not gonna know till the finale? If not thats kinda decieving of marlowe because he said both secrets will bed out before the finale...but the only one to know about her secret is obviously castle(and martha)but it sounds like kate wont know for a long time still. Bummer.
ReplyDeleteAnd on top of that we still have castles secret to come out. I thought marlowe said that both secrets will be when they are seperated but from these latest interviews and the promo i see no evidence that castles secret will come out in this next episode. So it has to be episode 22 his comes out. Which means that nothing will be resolved and the miscommunication will continue till the finale which is supposed to be worth the episodes angst procedding it.which makes me kinda mad because im fine with angst as long as castle and beckett both know why each other is mad but this passive aggressive crap is ridiculous. Watch them cram the part where castle and kate talk and make up till the last few minutes of the finale..i hope im wrong.
Since its pretty obvious from this spoiler no movment will happen to the finale ,i think im gonna skip the next 2 episodes because my heart cannot handle another episode like the limey.
I had a strange thought last night as I was watching, and while I don't even believe it all myself, it makes Castle a little less awful in the episode--
ReplyDeleteIf he really, truly believes Kate doesn't have feelings for him (which I think is ridiculous at this point, but whatever), then all he's doing isn't actually to hurt her--'cause she doesn't care (in his mind). So he's definitely acting out, but it's out of his own wounded pride and not AT Beckett to hurt her/"get back at her". Which is a lot more understandable and forgiveable to me.
That said, they both need to grow a pair and start talking TO EACH OTHER instead of to Lanie or Martha or random British men. Just sayin'. :)
He's acting out to try and get over her and to avoid the pain of her "rejection" of his ILY, NOT out of spite. It's immature still, for sure, but I feel for him.
Deletecome rain, come snow... come night, come day... come betray, come trust... come hardships, come fun... come hate, come love... ReplyDeleteLOL. A fesh carrot from AM, tied to the stick that never ends. This season will end in a cliff hanger too people; do you really think its going to be the two of them getting together? Be serious!
ReplyDeleteI'll come back here to see how it went as I have lost interest in watching it on TV.
AM tweeted a quote that gives me some hope that he knows what he's doing:
ReplyDelete"It's like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were. And sometimes you didn't want to know the end. Because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it's only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines, it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something, even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn't. Because they were holding on to something... There's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo. And it's worth fighting for."
-Sam, Lord of the Rings
For a TV program to last it has to entertain enough people to stay on the air. Season's 1,2, and 3 were very entertaining; for me this season has been very boring. I can recall one episode this season that I really enjoyed: Cops and Robbers.
DeleteUnlike the Mentalist, this show is built around the boy-girl relationship. If that sputters the show sputters. This season it sputtered and quit.
After 4-19 I told myself--and my girlfriend, who insists C&B have no sexual chemistry--I was done. I came back for 4-20 but last night was just awful. I don't care anymore how it turns out because I no longer find the show entertaining.
I'll bet the ratings will be okay for last night because many people were expecting progress. I bet 4-21s ratings see a drop. Justifiably so.
AM is a LOTR fan! Awesome! This actually reassures me a little.
DeleteI saw that quote last night and almost posted it here myself. I'm very glad you did, thank you.
DeleteBeckett: "That's what the great love stories are about, right? Beating the odds?"
Castle: "I hope they make it"
Beckett: "Me too"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4LLnSqxpvws
Translation: Keep your panties on, it will all work out.
Delete...and with that Castle friends I say farewell!
ReplyDeleteAfter The Limey, I'm not interested to watch the rest of the episodes except for the Season Finale.
ReplyDeleteSo, bye Castle....
see you in May
I want to know if anyone else noticed Castle was avoiding making eye contact or even looking at Beckett for most of the night? I mean, if he could and she wasn't talking directly to him (or maybe at him, since she really wasn't saying much) and when he was talking at her (that one is true since he tried to put back that wall between them), he definitely never looked at her, never glanced at her. That's all on Nathan Fillion, because he made it look effortless for an effortful action. People do not respond that strongly to writing alone. Yes, the writers got the angst well, but NF carried that role to the end, and it was the little touches that made the angst so much more powerful.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely. When they can maintain steady eye contact, the sparks will fly!
DeleteShe rembembers everything.Does she ? She has talked with the shrink and to lanie and has not mentioned that castle said those three little words.I dont think she heard him.
ReplyDeleteShe admitted to her therapist at the end of episode 1 of season 4 - Rise, that she remembers EVERYTHING. For the purpose of storytelling they aren't goint to change that to mean everything but the I love you.
DeleteShe remembers. No reason for her to lie except that she remembers. What is the purpose otherwise?
ReplyDeleteDear Mister Marlowe. Good Sir,
ReplyDeleteI very much like the quote you have tweeted a link to. I very much appreciate the comments made in interviews mollifying the angst of the journey of the show's driving couple.
I'm pretty bloody-well certain that everyone expected the show to drive the characters further apart to truly risk losing what they've built and/or taken for granted.
Understanding the dark before the dawn path to progress doesn't necessarily make things more palatable. 47 Seconds served this journey well. Headhunters looks like it will serve this journey well. The Limey, however, gets two minutes for gratuitous and unnecessary bi-lateral mutual douche-baggery of our favored not-quite-couple.
We all get what the Limey was in service of. It doesn't mean that some of the choices of direction therein weren't odd and occassionally crossing into unenjoyable for this wee viewer. Grown adults 'acting out' was not terribly entertaining, and mutual passive-agressive befuddlement is wearing thin.
I love fallible characters. I love drama and comedy. I love a fun mystery. I love a good combo of all the above. I did not enjoy the Limey as much as I thought I would. In short, I wouldn't mind having my 42 minutes back.
We all understand the chess game. It's just been the most gratuitously slow gambit deployed, carefully nursed to last thru the season.
Glad the Limey is over. Very much looking forward to Headhunters. And Zombies. And action. And fun. And secrets finally surfacing, even if they're being pulled forth like impacted molars, to kick this show out of the season-long holding pattern and back into having some kind of a pulse.
I very much appreciate all the hard work y'all have done this season, even if I've been at odds with some (or even much) of what has graced our screens this season. Keep it up, no matter what our lunatic fandom says.
Thanks kindly.
I don't mind this kink in the CB relationship, The Limey was frustrating not so much because of Kate & Castle's behaviours, but because I think it lacked the emotions and the scenes it could've shown. I just hope the season ends in our preference. Here's two scenarios I'll be happy with:
ReplyDelete1) If Castle's secret is meant to tear them apart:
Have Kate confront Rick at the end of 4x21 or in 4x22 about her feelings for him. I feel like once Rick hears her say, "I love you" to him, he'll take it and start making out with her, not really thinking about the pain she caused him because Castle caves in really easy to Kate. Then in the finale, his secret comes out and everything blows up. We're left hanging for the summer, but at least we see them together for one episode and that's enough for me.
2)If Castle's secret is meant to bring them closer together:
I wouldn't mind Kate confronting Rick in the finale, she tells him she loves him, she finds out about his secret, all the cards are put on the table. She sees that Castle loves her to the point where he would risk his own life just so that she can be protected and she could have her happy ending. Then the ending scene of the finale is them making out - the start of their relationship. We're left happy and anxiety-free for the summer. From all the spoilers I've read, I think #2 is the most likely to happen. It goes with the whole "it's going to be such an emotional episode" thing they keep telling us and it goes with Stana's saying that fans will be happy in the end. I think I'll be angry if they leave us with a cliff hanger where Kate confronts him and Castle's secret comes out and that's it, we don't get to see how it plays out til the next season ... that would be unfair.
But they said there's going to be a huge surprise for the CB relationship in the finale, I can't guess what that might be and I don't know if it'll be a good or a bad surprise.
See. Everyone on Facebook is all mad and I am not because I know it will be okay in the end :)
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6J1-eYBbspA&feature=artist for castle!! *sniff i agree anon 12:20 ;-)
ReplyDeleteAfter The Limey, I have no interests to watch the rest of episodes except for the Season Finale. If I want to watch the immature characters I'd rather watch 90210 than a dumb ass 40 yo writer.
ReplyDeleteSo, bye Castle. See you in May
I'm really getting sick of the show. Marlowe is jerking us again. He says one thing and then does something else. The secrets are suppose to be out before the finale. It's been twoeps since becketts is out and she doesn't even know it. She will probably know it in the penultimate. Then maybe endof that she find sout his or in the finale and then it's her turn to throw tantrums. God can this sow get anymore stupid.
ReplyDeleteI'm tuning out until the finale too. It's just too dumb to even watch. People day we will miss GE progress...what progress??? Them being angry and avoiding each other. Yeah that's great progress.
anon 10:37...at first i thought the same thing..that castles secret wouldnt come out till the finale. But there have now been more than one conformations my marlowe that castles secret will come out before the finale...so that means episode 21 or 22. And i have a feeling that it will not be until the very end of episode 22..and then the finale will pick up from there . So unless marlowe lied(and i dont think he would lie about something like this) castles secret will be out before the finale but probably just barely. So your theories are still very possible. These past two episodes have about killed me and the next two will probably as well so i hope the finale is worth it. I just keep thinking about what stana said...its the only thing keeping me from being a complete wreck.
ReplyDelete-brittany
So when's the end??? All AM is doing is laying cards on the table so you have a reason to see how they handle those cards. Schmuck bait.
ReplyDeletelook for another season of more card shuffling
I guess Marlowe is saying that all cards will be on the table in the season finale, so considering the progress between our leads (or rather you may not even call it progress) The theme of next season is going to be......wait for it...................
ReplyDelete'Playing the cards'
The next season will be them playing the cards meaning dealing with the consequences of the secrets and another season will go down the drain! Castle and Beckett may get together in season 6, that is not very different from Booth and bones who got together in season 7!
I am going to watch only the finale, as AWM has made it pretty clear that nothing is going to happen till the finale and I am not enjoying and finding Richard Castle and Kate Beckett pretty annoying and childish right now!
-Where is the Richard Castle who once told Kate and Alexis to give things time? To kate in Rise to give her mother murder time and to Alexis when she got rejected by Stanford.
-Where is the Kate Beckett who if wanted to talk to someone, used to drag them in the corner and get things sorted. She did that when she wanted to talk to him about Natalie Rhodes in season 3 and she used to ask Montgomery many times that they needed to talk when she was having trouble with Castle in the beginning. If she had guts to order her boss and get things sorted then, why isn't she doing that with Rick instead of feebly asking him that hey need to talk.
The writers have spoiled the characters for me, and it seems that the Castle I saw this season and season 3, who had become quite matured, his loving character and his ability to read people, even his patience has all got ruined for me. Even Beckett seems to me as an insecure 16 year old girl in love with a teenage boy, not the person whom she knows and loves and has been working with for 4 years and has heard him confess his love to her, still doubting her feelings and above all his character now. Why does it now worry her that he has been married twice and by all means, they are not getting married or something therefore the writers can address these issues after that are together too, its not that he has asked her to marry him, he just said that he loved her and now is the time for them to stop dragging.
I hope the finale is good, though I dont know how are they going to make us happy and address all issues and give a cliffhanger and repair the damages ALL is 42 minutes. It should have been better spread. I dont see the sense of these 4 episodes, they rather seem as fillers. Whats the sense of the secret coming out and Kate not knowing it? Just to show Castle angry.. ok fine thats acceptable but they should have made Kate able to find out by the end of Limey because she is supposed to be a great detective and she could not make the connection seeing the coffee glass and Javi telling her that he just left! If not then then at least by now she should have figured it out, and Rick should have been tough and if not then but now in Limey he should have manned up and told her or hinted her indirectly about him 'Knowing the secret' and not telling her about his lovely date with that bimbo. I am watching this series for Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic and not for the absolutely ridiculous writing and story. If castle and beckett were played by any other character, I would have left it by now. But I love ALL the characters that is why I am gonna watch the Finale which AWM is saying that is gonna be awesome. Now that he has raised all our hopes and titled it 'Alway' it better be awesome.
-Jane :)
The wall within Beckett has to come down. She's spent a decade in building it so it won't just fall because Castle says ILY. It's a big and strong and very real wall.
DeleteThe wall has to come down by Beckett pulling it down but she does everything consciously and subconsciously she can to avoid that task.
She refuses to use her detective skills to figure out the change in Castle. She refuses to push for a chat - she could very well tell Ryan & Espo to take a hike when they interrupt, she's their boss. She refuses to answer a direct question like when Castle stops, turns round and asks "why?". She runs away by picking up the phone to call Hunt for a drink.
It is going to take a huge emotional shock for her to break through. Huge.
I am guessing in Headhunters she will hear that Castle is dead or dying in Hospital after a run in with the Latin gangs. That would do it. She runs to him as fast as she can and throws out the bimbo that's keeping him company declaring that he belongs to her and that nobody is getting between them ever again.
Doesn't really matter if he's awake to hear or what he says in response because once the wall is down, it's DOWN.
Thinking about it, I wouldn't be surprised if Espo/Ryan tries to interrupt one last time and she tells them to get lost in no uncertain terms. The writers have been teasing us with the cockblocking for too long for them to not acknowledge it at its end.
In other words, I think the breakthrough we are all hoping and praying for will be in the hospital at the end of Headhunters. That leaves one episode for general lovey dovey before the Beckett murder takes over in the finale.
I like that theory! Kate has been trying to take down that wall piece by piece in an effort to be in the right space to have a relationship with Rick. I couldn't agree more, being faced with Rick's life in danger could have the effect of smashing that wall down with a huge wrecking ball! We all saw the way she reacted in Cops & Robbers when the bomb went off. She went from utter shock, to desperately calling out "Castle!", to that wonderful smile when she discovered he was safe and unharmed. I get the feeling that with both of them working apart in Headhunters they are going to have to do some major soul searching. Kate will go to her psychiatrist, who will give her a major psychological boost and the confidence to finally come forward with her feelings. Rick is going to get more than he bargained for with this brief foray into the world of Detective Ethan Slaughter, which could likely have the effect of making him realize just how good things were with Kate and the other two members of the "family". I think that despite the way he's acted since he discovered her secret, his anger and behaviour is only superficial and deep down he is still a man deeply in love with Kate. Headhunters will likely be the episode where he snaps out of it, only to have to likely deal with the ramifications of his own secret. According to Andrew Marlowe, Rick's secret is going to come out at the worst time imaginable. I have no idea exactly when that will be but knowing these guys it will come out before Kate reveals her feelings! I'm OK with that but I would love to see her get her feelings out first before getting sucker punched by Rick's secret. Most people are expecting Kate to spit the dummy when she finds out what Rick has been doing (and I know I'm going to sound contradictory here), but what if she doesn't? Andrew Marlowe recently said that they don't like repeating things too much, which is why they didn't show much of Ryan's wedding (because they had already done a wedding type episode in Season 2). Rick's secret revolves around him meddling in Kate's mother's case behind her back, mirroring what he was doing towards the end of Season 1. We've already had a bad reaction from Kate after the first time he dug into it. Maybe this time she will understand why he is doing it again. Her perception of him has changed quite a lot since the time he gave her that heartfelt apology after she bit his head off for looking into her mother's case. I'm not willing to drive the knife into the back of the creators of this show like a lot of people have, simply because I feel that I belong in that group that Andrew Marlowe describes as feeling like they know the characters and where they're heading, (in other words aren't throwing a massively pointless wobbly fit and are still enjoying this show).
Delete@Anon 2:18: Thought provoking comments. Thanks!
DeleteI am not sure at all that Kate's wall has in any way weakened. As Lanie says, Kate's totally in a holding pattern, no emotional progress on her part at all since she came back to work. Sure she kids about doing the handcuff thing again but that's over the shoulder on the way out of the room. She's already running so zero danger of him following up. Smiling at the sight of Castle being a great dad doesn't count because she makes damn sure that he doesn't see. Bottom line is she has not progressed one inch. Not one.
In 20/20 hindsight, her shooting caused the wall to wobble. She heard Castle's declaration and it scared her witless. Already physically vulnerable, I'm guessing that was her first time in hospital having to depend on others for the simplest things, she also felt emotionally defenseless. She could hardly speak to castle when he came to visit. She was so scared of blurting out words she would regret that she lies to Castle about remembering. Is that the one and only lie that she has ever told him? I think so.
So she sent him away. She sent Josh away. She sent Lanie away. All so that she could run away to be by herself in a safe bolthole (her dad's cabin) to rebuild and reinforce the wall without distraction. She recovered physically by letting her body recover. She "recovered" mentally by just rebuilding the same walls, blocks, inhibitions that she had before she was shot.
The scene before the shooting when Castle goes to her apartment and yells at her to talk about their relationship was classic wall. She totally refuses to communicate. All she does is tell him to get out, they were through. The wall is totally in control.
After the shooting only when the wall was well and truly back in place did she risk seeing Castle again and risk coming back to work. She refused any human contact until the wall was there to hide behind.
The wall is there. Strong as ever. She knows it's preventing progress but so far all she has done is gently leaned on it by talking to Lanie & Worf. Not even a shove. She might have it within her to blow it up with dynamite (which is what she should do!) but I doubt it. I think she'll need an external event like Castle getting hurt.
So I think that's what will happen.
Anon 2.18 AM here again. You are so right Anon 12.06 PM, she is definitely still hiding behind the wall now that I think about it after reading your wonderful comment. I've seen people complaining like broken records that there has been no movement this year between Castle and Beckett and that that makes Season 4 a big waste of time. I suggest that these people read the comment by Anon 12.06 PM and then they might have a better understanding as to why Kate Beckett is the way she is. She has made movements with her psychiatrist but she has also had her wall up when she's visited him. In Eye Of The Beholder she refused to acknowledge how she truly felt about Castle and the situation surrounding Serena Kaye's presence. Also, in Kill Shot she did not want to hear from Dr. Burke that she was suffering symptoms of PTSD and was determined to solve the case anyway, (which led to her driving herself into the ground until on Rick's urging Javier Esposito helped her in that magnificent scene in the evidence room).
DeleteI really think that by putting Rick's life in danger she will be forced to bring down that wall. She is crazy in love with him but at the same time her wall has ended up causing her to keep him in a holding pattern because she's fearful of ruining what they had between each other. It is going to hit her hard when she realizes that by keeping him at arm's length she was going to drive him away anyway.
what bothered me is i was so happy after 47 seconds because i thougt o well done Mr.Marlowe 4 episodes to lay all on the table and answer any questions.I was expecting a lot of anger ,frustation, pain and irrational behavior it is ok with me .I thougt there will be confrontaion until the last episode but then they are throug.Something like in Dr.Quinn the Ep before their Wedding that was so a damn good writing and let every shippers heart melt.If Mr.Marlowe do something like this in the last 3 or 2 episodes then i will lift my hat and say very good job if he put all in the final ep and in the last 2 minutes they say i love or something like this then i will say just like every other show nothing special.
ReplyDeleteI am keeping my expectations low that way i wont be that disapointed. Everytime we are built up Andrew gives a lot of hipe and little else. This is suppose to keep us interested so we come back for the next season. That worked in the past I dont think it will work this time not for me anyway.
