I missed Jayne, It's surprisingly comforting seeing Adam Baldwin acting like an opportunistic jackass again. I loved him on Firefly, loved him on Chuck, I'm going to love to hate him on Castle.
Oh man I echo your thoughts Anon 03.11 - I will be loving Adam acting the ass again and Rick desparate to get in with the guy to play partner.
He had to give him that lovely leather jacket he looked so good in too - shiny brown coat - Firefly!
Can I just say I love that Rick is all enthused and happy and keen to follow this guy around, I need a break from all the misery inflicted by the Kate and Rick secret saga.
Don't get me wrong I love the two of them together but the last two episodes have not been that fun for me watching all the upset unfold.
So this is a great treat.
Of course it's all going to go badly wrong for Rick you sense eventually when he finds out Slaughter couldn't care two hoots about his welfare and probably abandons him in a fist fight.
Yes, I've seen them on Tumblr.com but there's just Adam & Nathan and it takes place between sneak 4 and sneak 3 (therapist). I really think the ep will become interesting after Kate & therapist scene.
hahahaha these sneak peeks. Oh poor Castle, he has no idea what he's doing, I love how he's being toyed around by Slaughter. I love how naive he is, his child-like personality and wild imagination make him an innocent, and Beckett knows this about him and probably loves him for it, he's not a tough guy, he's a sweetheart. Holding a gun and being tough does not suit him, leave that role to Beckett.
funny clips, but they're holding out on us. i want the casketty goods, and they know it. whatever happens after castle gets his face rearranged and beckett has to, err, comfort him. being honest and telling him she's all besotted with him. tending to his wounds. all that gooey lovey dovey stuff.
That's either at the end of the episode (i.e. too late for a sneak peek) or not happening at all. I'm not sure this ep will have many "Casketty goods" and maybe the sneak peeks are prepping us for the inevitable.
Dick Coonan's (the sniper who killed Beckett's mom) brother was in the Westies gang. He was killed because he was going to rat Dick out to The Feds because he had the Latin Kings pushing drugs through the Westies's territory and they didn't deal in drugs.
This episode DEFINITELY is going to be connected to the Johanna Beckett case somehow. I figured the next cople of episodes would be giving us some clues about the JB case leading into the finale.
Yeah I can definitely see this connection and it would be so awesome if they play it out like this, but honestly, sometimes I feel like the fans know more about the show than the writers, watch them not make this connection. I mean they don't even get their timeline right.
Agree with Anon 4.14PM I love Castle here all childlike, naive and enthusiastic like some little kid trapped in a grown man's body! He's so adorable really, how can Kate not love this man? Nathan play that so well.
As for Slaughter I just love some of the stuff he's coming out with here, just so funny. Rick really is in way over his head with this guy, just hope that we get do get to see the much speculated face rearranged scene that Nathan talked about - nothing too bad - but just enough to worry Kate sick!
After all the troubles between Kate and Rick, it's really nice to laugh and have some fun after two episodes of awful angst, I know we will get some more drama here too but I miss the fun element so it's good to have it back for a while.
While I understand that the Castle/Slaughter partnership is a contradiction of their relationship on Firefly, I don't like that Castle comes off looking a little pathetic. I know some fans have felt that Castle needs to grow a backbone because his mother and daughter push him around, but this is different. It's like Castle is the nerdy guy who's into the hot girl, but the hot girl's only using him for her own benefit and the nerd is too blind to realize it. (Slaughter's the hot girl, in case you didn't get that)
Anyway, that scene where Slaughter hands Castle the gun and tells him to run into the line of fire really bothers me. Like, I feel real anger over that. It's so wrong on so many levels for Slaughter to have done that, and I hate him for it. Of course, he's not entirely at fault- Castle knows the law and correct police procedure and he shouldn't have consented to do that. I guess I'm just empathizing with Beckett right now. I'm not siding with her or anything, but she needs to confront Castle about how she feels about him, if only to get him away from Slaughter because that guy is poison.
Don't get me wrong- I love the show, and I'm looking forward to this episode. I enjoyed having some of the old humor back. Det. Slaughter is kinda funny in a condescending way, but I only hope that he gets what's coming to him for taking advantage of Castle. I'm thinking Kate will say something to Castle try to stop him from following Slaughter, but he doesn't realize that she's right until it's too late. He'll be injured or in a life- threatening situation due to Slaughter, and Kate will have to save him. I hope that will be enough to make Castle see that Kate loves him too, and they can at least go back to being partners... Until "Always," that is.
I know what you're saying but I think that's the whole point of having him follow Slaughter around. He is going to find himself way out of his depth and will more than likely find himself in some serious danger (maybe even life-threatening), which will cause him to take stock of everything that has happened over the last four years and realize just how much he enjoyed working with Kate, Javier and Kevin (but especially Kate). This will be the episode where he drags himself out of the rabbit hole he fell in when he overheard Kate reveal that she remembered her shooting back in 47 Seconds. I think it would be awesome if Kate has to come to his rescue too. I don't know if her true feelings will be revealed in this episode to Rick, as it would be more predictable to expect the creators to leave that until the end of the finale, but you never know. I think she will at least realize why he went off the rails and apologize to him. It appears that by Undead Again they're back on good terms, so that points to a resolution of some sort at the end of Headhunters. Should be a good episode, especially with Adam Baldwin in it!
I think I'm going to enjoy this episode MUCH more than I did the last one. "The Limey" episode just made me feel uncomfortable. This one looks like there will be a few laughs in it. The only laugh in the other one was Castle's plan to get the guy's fingerprint by scaling the building, etc. However, I don't think we're going to like Slaughter, because he's making Rick come off looking silly. Even though Kate knows that Rick's not a "tough guy", but rather a sweetheart as someone here has said, she never belittles him or makes him look stupid. We know that his wild, crazy ideas may make her roll her eyes, but she does appreciate the way his mind works and that he thinks outside the box when they're solving a case. Looking forward to seeing how this all plays out. At the very least, it may make Rick appreciate what he had with Kate and the gang at the 12th, and hopefully he's going to see that she really does care for him - maybe make him question his notion that she doesn't. And like I said on here somewhere before, if he gets hurt it may be the wake-up call Kate needs to finally admit that she does love him. Can't wait!! JM
But she does belittle him sometimes. Remember when she was telling him about Josh, how he is a surgeon and saves lives everyday. And what did you do today, Castle? I felt that it was a little mean and unnecessary. She knows what he does, she was his fan once before she became cooler than that. And on some other occasions, I can't recall right now, but she totally has a mean streak where Castle is concerned.
Beckett doesn't belittle his masculinity though, which is exactly was Slaughter is doing. Beckett just jokingly makes fun of his occupation... Even though she was a total hardcore Castle groupie before knowing him!
Seriously? Anonymous 1:29am no offense, but obviously you don't know when someone is joking around. Beckett was just teasing Castle in that scene. It's what a lot of there relationship is...teasing. She didn't mean anything by it. Don't get mad, just saying your wrong. LOL We're all on the same team. Team Caskett.
Well I think whether a joke or a tease is okay or not depends on how the other person takes it. The audience may see Kate's teasing as mean (I do sometimes, but that's me). Castle though clearly doesn't mind her teasing him the way she does it, in fact, I see it as her way of flirting with him and I think he likes it. Sure she rolls her eyes at him sometimes for his silly theories, but that doesn't mean she doesn't enjoy listening to his ideas, she is fascinated by him, but she doesn't show it. She never showed any disrespect towards him really and she doesn't belittle his masculinity like Slaughter is doing. The fact of the matter is that she is a huge fan of him, she just won't let anyone know about it. She's a control freak, she has to control how she presents herself. I think that's Kate's problem, the fact that she won't make her feelings about him obvious is what caused Rick to conclude that she doesn't love him. I just can't wait for the day when she no longer tries to hide how much she admires him, no longer controlling herself and emotions.
This episode can become the best episode in castle's history so far, if Kate realizes why castle acted weirdly and confesses her love to him in hospital standing besides his bed... But, here's how I think it will end ----- Kate will definitely save him they'll have a normal chat, some smiles and how they missed working together .... I even doubt that Kate will even know something if castle hits slaughter for kate's honor .... I really hope what is expected from the writers doesn't happen but what I hope happens and this episode makes me fall in love with caskett all over again
Is it just me, or does Nathan look a lot smaller next to Adam? Maybe the only reason he looks big sometimes is because he's always around small people, like Ryan and Espo.
Nathan doesn't just look shorter. He also looks smaller in stature as well. Nathan's been losing weight, though. You can see it in his face and neck area.
I never want him to lose that sexy ass of his. Yummmmm!
Nathan is sexy as hell to me in an adorkable way.
Look at him before he goes into that bar. HaHa! I rewound that scene a million times. How does he do that to me? He really is ruggedly handsome!
I agree with those who say Rick will learn a lesson from working with Slaughter - probably a quite painful one if we believe the spoilers.
And whilst I think it's good that he realises how much he is cared for by Kate and her colleagues at the 12th another part of me hopes they don't have Slaughter do Kate's dirty work for her - in getting him back.
Kate so far has done little to try and figure out what went wrong, when she did get brushed off once she simply caved in and phoned another guy in the Limey which I hated because it made out that she didn't care enough to fight for Rick and what she was losing. She keeps on asking people like Lanie and her therapist a lot of questions but even when getting answers she still doesn't want to do anything which is getting annoying.
I don't think we will get any declaration from her or him at this stage over her sekrit but I don't just want him crawling back to the precinct with his tail between his legs, begging for her to take him back at the end.
She needs to step up and take some action herself for a change and I don't mean by the simple act of rescuing him from danger. I mean I want her to show to him that she cares, that she wants him back, that she knows there is a problem and that she wants to try to do something about it.
Otherwise we are just back to where we started with Kate still stitting around doing nothing and not being forced out of her comfort zone and Rick still not talking about the hurt she's caused him.
But I sense they will go down the route of having Castle just crawl back to her using Slaughter as the catalyst. Kate then can just carry on as normal breathing a huge sigh of relief that's she's got her wind up toy back.
I disagree. What's the point of having Castle crawl back to her when I believe the whole point of this kink in their relationship is to have Kate realize how she's taking him for granted and needs to start compromising for him. The last thing I want to see is Rick going to her to apologize, she has to be the one to take the initiative and to fix the problem, not him. Otherwise, we're back to square one when Rick is the kind and forgiving one and Kate makes him compromise for her.
I think Rick should go to her to apologize for his recent behavior. Rick should realize he doesn't need to go back to being a immature twat every time things don't go the way he wants
yes he should apologize for his behavior, but she has to apologize back as well... for keeping what she knew for so long. It wasn't right , it wasn't fair, perhaps some will see it as selfish, but in the end... she did it so he can be with him. Because she loves him.
So when they are gonna talk, I want them to say what they thought of the other for what they've done and I want them to realize that even though they chose different path, they had the same goal in the end: they want to be together.
I highly doubt rick and kate will go back to how they were before 49 seconds, no way, castle isnt gonna let this one slide. and not to metion the producer said they put the ball in kates court for a reason... she has to make a move, and its gonna be good.... :) not to mention theyve also said that all the secrets are coming out including castles about mr. smith and becketts shooting and her moms murder... thatll make becket pretty mad they're both gonna end up doing some more serious soul searching in these next two episodes, but anyway i think we all know what to expect from the season fanale see how the episode is called 'always' !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The interesting thing is Beckett sees castle wearing the Brown Coat then she sees slaughter wearing it. i hope that is some plot point we will touch on,
Those clips were hilarious! This is going to be a fun episode :) Castle so wants to be in on the action, but is really freaked out by it, too. At the core, Rick is a crime writer, not a hard-core crime fighter - that's Beckett's job. Slaughter is playing out all the extreme tough guy scenarios that Rick probably comes up with all the time for his books, but in real life things are much more dangerous. I can't wait!
Notice in how different circumstances Beckett and Castle working with their new partners. Beckett with Hunt in high society, ball, ambassadors etc. Castle with Slaughter taking down some dirtbags, street gangsters etc.
I think that Anon 5.07 AM means that Rick used to be involved in high society, with his book parties and playboy ways, and Kate has always been away from the limelight taking down thugs and gangsters etc, etc. So the point that Anon 5.07 AM is trying to make is that in these two episodes their roles are reversed somewhat.
I use to enjoy the other elements of the show.. The cases , the other characters... After the last 2 eps all I can think about is Caskett! Too much angst the last 2eps...
I think last episodes were clearly signals from Marlow why they SHOULD NOT be together. Simple. They cant talk openly to each other about these things, you know feelings...
I think Marlow in 5th season will be teach them how to talk. So its obvious that they will be not together soon. Maybe at the s5 ending? S6 beginning?
I don't know. After watching Kate rant about Castle and how she fears she may have lost him, I think they will be official by the end of the season. They've been hinting on Kate's desire to tell him how she feels for a few episodes now, so I have no doubt that she will tell him in the finale and I feel like once she tells him, Castle's gonna jump right at her for a kiss. They may not get together right away because of the negative consequences of their secrets/lies, but I do think we'll see a make-out between them in the finale. I feel like this season has deprived us of good Caskett moments. I mean even the kiss in 4x14 was not a real kiss. And I think they did that on purpose to make us long for a kiss even more, so when it does happen in the finale, it'll feel so worth the wait. They told us the fans will be happy about Caskett at the end of the season.
OMG, I didn't see the SPs, but I so can't wait till Tuesday! I'm absolutely spoiler- free this time, I so hope that I can survive with out them the last days!!
Oh please, don't remind me about the books... I so can't think about that this will be the last book - for now - and I so hope that he writes some more :)
Oh, don't worry- in order to justify shadowing Beckett any longer, Castle is going to have to get a contract for more Nikki Heat books, which means we get more Nikki Heat books!
You'll know who Finn is and brush up on The Westies and Latin Kings at the same time. I have a feeling the end of this season will be brushing up on the past events that revolves around the Johanna Beckett murder mystery.
Slaughter says he's "top legbreaker of the Westies".
It's be cool if Finn had some sort of vendetta against the dragon for losing Jack Coonan the way he did. Beckett kind of did him a favor shooting Dick...
Okay so let me understand this properly. Finn is the leader of the Westies (he's that old Irish guy in 2x13), he hired Jack Coonan to find out who's dealing drugs in his territory and Jack found out it was his brother Dick, only Dick killed him before Jack could tell the Feds about it. Yeah I suppose Beckett did do Finn a favour, maybe this will play out in the finale? I hope we see Castle piecing things together in 4x21 and 4x22 and not just have the whole story play out in the finale.
Wow. ABC keeps on giving. :D
ReplyDeleteHe hands him his Browncoat!!!

There are 2 more sneak peeks out there, 6 in total. Alas, no extra Caskett treat... :-(

DeleteI highly doubt rick and kate will go back to how they were before 49 seconds, no way, castle isnt gonna let this one slide. and not to metion the producer said they put the ball in kates court for a reason... she has to make a move, and its gonna be good.... :)
Deletenot to mention theyve also said that all the secrets are coming out including castles about mr. smith and becketts shooting and her moms murder... thatll make becket pretty mad
they're both gonna end up doing some more serious soul searching in these next two episodes,
but anyway i think we all know what to expect from the season fanale see how the episode is called 'always'
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And he gives him his BROWN COAT! Who said the other day the should make Firefly references? Well, here you are.
ReplyDeleteThe interesting thing is Beckett sees castle wearing the Brown Coat then she sees slaughter wearing it. i hope that is some plot point we will touch on,
DeleteSo that's why I saw that BTS photo of them in brown coats? they had one each. Ha ha, funny.
ReplyDeleteCaskett or no Caskett, I have a feeling this episode is going to be good.
ReplyDeleteThose clips were hilarious!
ReplyDeleteNotice in how different circumstances Beckett and Castle working with their new partners. Beckett with Hunt in high society, ball, ambassadors etc. Castle with Slaughter taking down some dirtbags, street gangsters etc.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you mean by this? Are you saying there's a significance to this somehow?
DeleteI think that Anon 5.07 AM means that Rick used to be involved in high society, with his book parties and playboy ways, and Kate has always been away from the limelight taking down thugs and gangsters etc, etc. So the point that Anon 5.07 AM is trying to make is that in these two episodes their roles are reversed somewhat.
DeleteI use to enjoy the other elements of the show.. The cases , the other characters... After the last 2 eps all I can think about is Caskett! Too much angst the last 2eps...
ReplyDeleteI think last episodes were clearly signals from Marlow why they SHOULD NOT be together. Simple. They cant talk openly to each other about these things, you know feelings...
ReplyDeleteI think Marlow in 5th season will be teach them how to talk.
DeleteI LOVE that he gets the letters mixed up when he "storms" the bar!
ReplyDeleteBoring.... I have no interest in watching Castle with this guy.
ReplyDeleteWell don't watch it then. Don't waste your breath complaining about it.
DeleteLOL!! These sneaks are the best ones yet! hahaha! Finally something I can get a laugh out of.
ReplyDeleteOMG, I didn't see the SPs, but I so can't wait till Tuesday! I'm absolutely spoiler- free this time, I so hope that I can survive with out them the last days!!
ReplyDeleteEmi
I, for one, can't wait to read how Castle's experience with Slaughter will "spice up" the new Nikki Heat book.
ReplyDeleteOh please, don't remind me about the books... I so can't think about that this will be the last book - for now - and I so hope that he writes some more :)
DeleteBut you're right... So cant wait :D
Emi - germany
Oh, don't worry- in order to justify shadowing Beckett any longer, Castle is going to have to get a contract for more Nikki Heat books, which means we get more Nikki Heat books!
DeleteThese books are available in spanish?
ReplyDeleteYes, all the Nikki Heat books are available in Spanish.
DeleteDid I hear correctly, Bryan is head of the Westies? What happened to Finn?
ReplyDeleteWell Slaughter just said he was top of the Westies, or something like that. It might just mean that he's high up there, but maybe not the head guy.
Deletewhat are you guys talking about? Who's Finn?
DeleteGo watch Sucker Punch...
DeleteYou'll know who Finn is and brush up on The Westies and Latin Kings at the same time. I have a feeling the end of this season will be brushing up on the past events that revolves around the Johanna Beckett murder mystery.
Slaughter says he's "top legbreaker of the Westies".
DeleteIt's be cool if Finn had some sort of vendetta against the dragon for losing Jack Coonan the way he did.
