We talked with the lovely Stana Katic on set and she is gunning for Castle/Beckett to seal the deal, too, but sadly (sad trombone!), it's not happening any time soon. "I hope that they deal with their relationship, I hope that it moves forward. I kind of feel like we're at that point where it's got to grow," she tells us. So what's coming up after last night's fantastical forties episode? "I think the next thing that we're looking at is the two of them almost drowning. I think we're going to try to take them through every element and almost kill them in any way possible and then hopefully they'll get it. Hopefully they'll say, ‘I really love you and I'm crazy for you and let's just get married and have children.' " Season finale, anyone? Done and done!

ReplyDeleteI just noticed what Stana said about the elements, it was fire in season 2's double parter, ice in season 3 and now by the promo, the hints of wetsuits and Stana comments this one screams water. Can anyone say buried alive season 5?

DeleteI'm a massive Chuck fan, so the first thing that pops up in my mind is a WIND machine -- they love using that thing ;). So, how about by next season's two parter, Beckett makes an entrance with the help of a wind machine for Castle (may/may not be in Castle's fantasy). *wink* *wink*.

At NIkola, I agree with the first comment, it may not have been mentioned directly, but as actors they may know bits and pieces. And besides Stana didn't say she thinks it's not happening, she said it isn't, that's affirmative.
ReplyDeleteBuried alive, great another bones reference for thoe se fans to slam us. So I hope not. And anyway those element don't matter to me as much as how they are dragging this relationship. I think if w got to see some real movement with castle and Beckett, fans would enjoy the cases more because we would not be so tensed up and looking for how things are professing with the leads.

ReplyDeleteIn response to the AA spoiler, Ausiello can be a real troll sometimes. A lot of people have been speculating that he's being sarcastic. If not, he could be hinting something. His response was quite blunt and specific, he's usually more vague. IDEK but I have a feeling that there's more to it than we think. It would be an incredibly smart move (on AWM's part) in reference to the storyline and ratings for 'Linchpin', if the cliffhanger was of romantic capacity as well as life threatening.

In response to this spoiler, I like that Stana gives it to us straight. Not gonna lie though, have been a little disappointed with the progress. This is an interesting show, with interesting characters, and Castle and Beckett's relationship is complicated enough for the show to last well beyond the "getting together" point.
Sexual tensioned can heightened once characters initiate some kind of relationship. It's just a matter of a writer's understanding of a character/s and unique vision to continue with an engaging trajectory.
I don't understand where E! got the idea that Beckett and Castle aren't getting together anytime soon. Where in Stana's comment did it say that? She said what she hopes will happen with them and made no comment about what she does or does not know. How does "I hope that they deal with their relationship, I hope that it moves forward. I kind of feel like we're at that point where it's got to grow," translate into "It's not happening anytime soon." Someone help me out here because I'm really stumped. Am I just not comprehending or is this a piss poor job of reading between the lines?
ReplyDeleteFYI, the cast doesn't get their scripts for any episode until 2 days before they start shooting. That's straight from the mouth of Tamala Jones in her latest interview. The rest of the cast has said before that AWM plays it close to the vest and doesn't divulge too much to them ahead of time. I'm sure they have conversations about the general direction in which things are going and ideas that are being kicked around, but I'm pretty sure the cast isn't privy to quite as much as we might think they are. Stana was talking about what she HOPES will happen by the end of the season because she doesn't KNOW what's in store for sure just yet. She also said she thinks it's time for the relationship to grow. She has such respect for AWM. If she knew there was no movement on the horizon for them I very much doubt she would go out and say something that is obviously in alignment with the opposite of the direction in which AWM is taking things. Seems a little insubordinate, don't you think?
Anyway, I feel like I'm getting all riled up here because this seems like irresponsible reporting. There are a lot of people out there right now who seem to be gunning for Castle and looking for any reason to tear this show down. Most people gripe that the Caskett storyline isn't going anywhere and threatening to jump ship bc of that. It's stuff like THIS little tidbit that fuels their fire and gives them more to go on, you know.
The facts are these: Stana did NOT say in that brief interview that Castle and Beckett aren't getting together anytime soon. The cast doesn't know FOR SURE what's going on in an episode until about 2 days before shooting begins. How does Watch with Kristin get from Point A to Point THEY'RE NEVER GETTING TOGETHER in this interview?
Also, one last thing, this mini-article seems to predict they will get together or at least admit their feelings for one another by season's end. That's in 9 episodes. Is that REALLY "not anytime soon?" Hmmm, because if their time frame "prediction" is true, 9 episodes sounds a lot sooner than "not anytime soon." Accurate reporting is not much to ask for, is it? I mean, I know a tv show is not NY Times worthy news, but I'm just saying...it would be nice, is all.

Actually nobody should believe ausiello or eonline they are always adding their 2 cents to our spoilers which is fine and all except they change our spoiler. Like remember ausillo said that josh and castle would be in a fist fight in rise and it just turned out to be Josh pushing castle and nothing after that. You can go to these sites if you want to I'm just saying not everything they say is true and they could be misleading. I say getting spoilers here or from wetpaint but get your spoilers wherever you want to. I think BIG things will happen in between these 9 episodes. Secrets should be out soon, all feeling will be on the table soon, we will see how all that plays out soon.
DeleteIt is very poor reporting, every journalist ask the same questions to both stana and nathan, one talk about caskett babies, the other about moonlighting curse...they just repeat the same PR stuff. That's why the paley festival will be interesting with great fan with good questions.

Hey, I'm with you. I just wish they would move forward. I agree that the show can handle the relationship. I don't want to be one of those who jump ship, but I am growing tired of Castle and Beckett not talking about their feelings for one another. It almost seems as if the show stalls a bit because they aren't dealing with it.
DeleteI kinda hate it how E manipulates stanas quotes. She never confirmed or denied that something significant would happen with caskett in these episodes. We always complain about them giving up false hope and hyping an episode but I think the other side is just as worse.

Kristen and Auseillo will screw with your head. They both drove me nuts during Alias' 5 year run. My shippers heart took a hit time after time....just like it is now with Castle.
ReplyDeleteE! interview took place a few days before Till death do us part and they were filming the noir episode, Stana might have gotten the script for Pandora but there's no way she knew what was going to happen in the second episode of the two parter since they only get a script two days before they start filming a new episode so let's all calm down a bit.

thanks for pointing that out anon@4.29, it makes me feel a WHOLEEE lot better ;) and yeah they have shown in two separate parts an interview for different episodes, but they obviously did it all in one go coz they r wearing the same clothes and were on the set for the blue butterfly so they might not have even seen the script yet for Pandora.... so yeah i hate it when they release stupid things like this to throw us off track, it might have been true at the time but now things could have changed... and i just melt every time Stana brings out her inner caskett shipperness ;) hahah

I love Stana- she is just so damn cute! Every interview I see, she's saying that Caskett needs to get together man! Have babies! Awwwwwww. Can't you just see a hugely pregnant Beckett in labor, yelling at Castle for doing that to her? It would be hilarious and a cute throwback to their early days!

ReplyDeletec and b get togeather? i dont think so maybe season 6 if the show last that long. wtwt is what keeps the show going. people like us keep coming back to see if they do.that is why they will never get together.the kiss the kiss that realy dosnt happen.i for one is getting a little tired with wtwt. i love this show but if things dont start moving with those two i doubt ill be back for season 5. i for one asked if its monday yet. latley i havent asked myself that question.dont get me wrong idont want them to jump into bed right off. i think one romantic kiss between those two would be the begining of a great romance. i think it would be a begining not the end of a good show. i guess i am too much of a romantic
