Castle Bombshell Coming! How Will Kate React?

As if Castle‘s Detective Beckett hasn’t already had a bad day, having seen a key witness shot dead right in front of her as she and her team race to prevent a national crisis, on a personal level she’s about to get an eye-opening earful.

In tonight's episode, CIA agent Sophia Turner calls Rick and Kate on the carpet for letting the aforementioned witness die on their watch after going a bit rogue. But after undressing the duo on a professional level, Turner takes a dig at Rick with a pointed allusion to their years-ago working “relationship” — and the slip does not go unnoticed by Beckett.

Castle creator Andrew W. Marlowe hinted to me that Kate’s secret will soon emerge, that she remembers Rick saying “I love you” after she got shot. Do you think she will drop that bombshell of her own when railing against her partner in crimesolving/potentially more? Something à la “So tell me, Rick, did you love her, too?”

  1. They have told us that none of their secrets would air in the two-parter because it would be too much emotion, but now they come up with this. How are we suposed to wait 10 more hours to know what happens? I hope they don't let us down after saying this. (Sorry if there is some mistakes, english is not my language =D)

    1. Who exactly said that none of their secrets would emerge in the two-parter? I thought it was only said that Kate's secret definitly wouldn't be part of the cliffhanger between both episodes...and it wasn't. Personally, I don't think her secret will emerge tonight, but it wasn't actually confirmed by someone, was it?

    2. They have said this many times, but I don't think that there will be any "secrets" emerging tonight. On every major episodes, like the noir episode they said something like that, but it didn't quite happen. And usually in those episodes, there is just a few minutes of their "love" moments. So hopefully they are telling the truth about the two-parter.

    3. Good question, Anon 9:17. When was that said? I'm not an authority on Castle spoilers, but I read just about everything that gets posted on this site. I read that bit about Kate's secret not being part of the cliffhanger, but that's it. Where did you get your information from?

  2. nahh its not coming out tonight. they just like to tease!

  3. And they also need to keep the viewers excited and be wanting to watch it.

  5. i'm sure that it won't happen tonight! i'm a little pissed because they said that sophia wouldn't come between castle and beckett and now here we are discussing how she gets between them! i really hope they'll get there soon !!! i want to see castle and beckett together!!!!! after 4 years of waiting i think it's time !

  6. It's not even teasing anymore. I used to have a lot of respect for Marlowe, but i don't know what to think anymore, because i feel like they outrightly lie to us in these interviews. It's really unfair to those fans who really invest in the show, and are disappointed afterwards. I don't want to be a fan who whines even before the episode airs, so i'll wait till tonight to see. But honestly, no one should get there hopes up after reading this snippet, because i doubt any secret will actually come out!

    1. I agree with what you said. It's like the same thing that they show on each episode you know? Like there's a murder, and then holding hands, then moving on and never talking about it. They avoid the fact. I mean I like the show but doing the same thing over and over again is not cool. It's time for a change up. Marlowe said that they were gonna be together mid-season, but i highly doubt that considering its already past mid-season, unless he thinks that mid-season is 4X16

    2. I think it's only fair to also remember that some of the sources play up and exaggerate what is said by Andrew Marlowe and the cast in an effort to rile up the fans and draw attention to the show...

      Delete
    3. Anon 10:17, that is very true. I've learned not to trust these interviews at all. I don't have expectations based in them, so I can't be disappointed when the episode airs.

      Delete
    4. Anon above... You're proof that people disappoint themselves based on spoilers amd sneaks.

When in the hell has AM said Caskett would be together midseason?

      NEVER EVER!

I have read every AM interview and has never read a lie from him and am old enough to know spoilers and interviews arw there to lure people in and leave it open for interpretation.

This article never said AM would reveal the secret .... the author is speculating.

Also why in the hell would they tell us something HUGE like this is going to be revealed beforehand. That's like telling us the ending of the finale in an interview.

Stop reading spoilers and articles and blaming AM and the cast on your own expectations.

I am so sick of the fans on this site crying and complaining before an episode airs.

Watch the episode first and then complain and cry.

I'll repeat. People disappoint themselves and lie to themselves. AM has NEVER lied and his part of his job is to hype his own product. Take every article, spoiler, and interview with a grain of salt.

      That's really common sense, imo.

      Delete
    5. Marlowe had just declared that the first wave of revelation will arrive by mid season.
      He would never couple.

    6. Anon 10:57, THANK YOU!!! I am getting so aggravated reading comments calling AWM a liar and saying the cast and writers have purposefully told fans things that weren't true. It's so unfair for people to read a spoiler, jump to a conclusion based on that spoiler, and then decide AWM "lied" when things turn out differently than they expected. Spoilers are let out so people can speculate and get excited about upcoming plot points. They're not leaked to tell us exactly what's going to happen. Yes, we all read this site because we like spoilers. However, I don't think any of us really want to know exactly what's going to happen ahead of time. We like to be teased and talk about what we think is going to happen because it's FUN to speculate. Most of us get that interviews are given to drum up excitement and get people talking. Why would AWM (or any show runner) want to piss off fans by making them feel like they've been lied to??? That would be pretty dumb and a surefire way to lose viewers. That's not what's happening here.

I, too, am so tired of people bitching about things and dumping all over the show before they've even watched a particular episode. Why watch if you already have such low expectations? I don't get it. I really, truly don't get it.

Well said & agreed 100%! I tried to say something similar last week, but it wouldn't load my comments. I wish all of these "fans" that are disappointed every week would either get over themselves or just stop watching the damn show. It's just a tv show with actors playing characters. Seriously, there are bigger things to stress about in our world. Sheesh! Just enjoy the show for what it is and be thankful that you can afford television and internet service to entertain yourself.

  7. But by telling us things that won't be, they only get us disappointed... I don't think that's good for the show, i'm starting getting tired of being told things that never come up. The show is great, they don't have to lie to us about what's going to happen!

    1. Simply don't read the interviews?
I dont get why people keep reading them when they find themselves constantly frustrated by the contents.

      Delete
    2. They don't lie. They exaggerate, they speculate, they pose questions that make you think something will happen when it won't, they hint. They do it deliberately, it's their job. When you take that information and run with it you only frustrate yourself. Consider the source, consider the context, consider EXACTLY what's been said, take it with a huge grain of salt, then decide. Or, just stay away from spoilers.

THATS KATE"S SPOT** and when she asked him about kate i just wanted Castle to say **THATS NONE OFF YOUR BUSINESS YOU SELF-CENTERED BITCH** No offence! I love Jennifer beals and even her acting in these two part episodes (i guess its her awesome acting that has made me hate Sophia SOO much) But i clearly hate Sophia Turner as a character for simply these two Sneak peeks.. no matter what her motive is!

  11. Although I'm not expectin any secrets to slip out, want some progression between Castle and Beckett as a duo (not individually, such as we only see Beckett working alone on her side to be ready). I do have to say though, Jealous!Beckett is very funny.

  12. I'm very excited for tonight, regardless if secrets come out or not. I've found that these interviews cannot be trusted. It seems that the authors always take whatever the actors say out of context just to get us fans excited and talking about the article and the show. I doubt that Marlowe has ever actually outright lied in an interview, it's just the interviewer manipulating his words. So don't take this too seriously, people! Just enjoy the show without the false expectations that crap articles like this out in your head!

  13. Um one question, maybe I can't find it, but when did the interview say her secret was being revealed in the 2 parter? I know they asked us if we thought it was going to come out via did u love her too, but I don't think they said it was coming out tonight, did they? Please explain. And I thought AM hinted in this interview that her secret will come out soon. I think maybe it might come out in eps 17 or 18. Honestly guys don't believe everything in this interview. Sometimes the people who did the interview lie. Not AM and the cast but tvline, e, and ausiello like to lie and change up things the cast and AM say. Let's just watch freely and if her secret comes out tonight well then we can talk about that. If not nothing to get upset about.

    1. It hasn't been said anywhere that the secret's coming out tonight. It's just that we fans start speculating and then those crappy authors that write those crappy "spoiler" articles feed off what the fans want and manipulate whatever the actors/ writers say to fit what we want to hear.

Yes, I'm pretty bitter about this. I've just learned to go with the flow and stop trusting those stupid articles, because it makes the viewing experience 10x better if you don't have expectations from something that may or may not (and probably isn't) true.

  14. I would absolutely love for a secret to come out tonight. And keep in mind than Marlowe only said that Kate's secret MIGHT come out before Castle's. He never really confirmed it. If a secret was coming out tonight, it's more likely that it's Castle's, because of Sophia and the murderboard thing. And Kate's walls have got to be higher than ever. She's not about to open up to Castle with Sophia and her damn bedroom eyes hanging around. But Castle's secret could be very close to slipping out.

Again, I doubt that it will happen, but a fangirl can dream. ;)

    6. That could just be a picture of Nathan and Stana taking a break between shoots. "It's a wrap" meaning it's the last scene shot, not necessarily the last scene of the episode.

  16. Stop insulting such a website, let me point out that he works closely with chains and people around gravaitant series. It is their job and if he really distort the interviews, people concerned stop working with them.
You really believe that Marlowe will tell you watch the series but this is the secret for the last 3 episodes. No! and to keep the viewer is forced to say things not entirely true to maintain our interest. This is the buisness of television.

  17. I don't think Kate's secret will come out tonight but something WILL happen and here's why. We've all seen the Canadian promo when Kate says 'Castle' with that voice. Then we get the sneak peeks, and there's absolutely no under-water scene. There HAS to be something there :)

  18. Soooooo, I see the consensus on the board is "In Marlowe We DON'T Trust" LOL

You guys are awesome (and correct!). I'm not getting my hopes up.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I trust Andrew Marlowe. What I don't trust is blogs, interviews, and spoiler sites. They routinely exaggerate, speculate as if it's fact, and generally make mountains out of mole hills. That's their job. And I don't trust "so and so said" in a comment as fact.

Read AWM's interviews and his direct quotes, there are no lies there. He is vague, he hints, he chooses his words very carefully, he says things that can have multiple meanings, he does not lie. He's doing exactly what he's suppose to be doing, his job.

Learn some discretion, consider the source, when someone speculates, understand that it's speculation, not fact. When you read more into something that just isn't there, or assume something has to happen because "so and so said it would", that's on you, no one else. Lean from it for cripes sake, don't let yourself get rolled over and over again. Or if you can't handle the heat, stay away from spoilers. It's a pretty simple solution.

    1. Why is everybody freaking? AM only hinted that the secret would come out. It's the interviewer that took liberties in when and how, asking the readers "do you think?" Did anybody actually read the interview?

  21. i did read the interview. He doesn't mention anything! they are just speculating because of the sneak peaks. on a side not, it seems like it might be fitting for a partial Kate secret to come out in this episode. something that castle will know about her remembering. also, there is a part where Beals mentions they have a chat together with Kate. This might be a brief conversation that will make Kate believe in castle's love again. she will say something like, he is a nice guy and she is not after him.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I'm very sure her sect isn't coming out here. Maybe the 19th epiosde...as for Andrew Marlowe, please don't trust his interviews, he seems to be very misleading. Remember the last time he did this was the noir episode, it was already known that the kiss was between joe and Vera, but then he suddenly says in an interview that we have to tune in to see if it's between joe and Vera or castle and Beckett. I mean he already knew for a fact that it was between joe and Vera so why even lie and upset fans later on.

Terri Edda said on twitter that they gets Yayys and they get boos, well it's their own fault. They use these cheap tricks to get more viewers, and then disappoint fans. Just tell the truth, and hope that your fans will tune in. Even with all the hype and interviews, the noir episode only garnered 8 plus million viewers. So just goes to show that fans aren't believing his interviews and just find his tricks and lies really annoying.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I'm sorry but I have to respectfully disagree with you here. AWM has never mislead fans. His comment about the kiss wasn't misleading...he was teasing us, promoting the show. He's allowed to do that. He didn't lie to us in the slightest.

Even if you still feel like he was misleading the audience in that particular interview, can you give another example of an interview in which he was "misleading" the fans? If you're going to label someone as misleading or not to be trusted then you should have solid reasons to say so. It's unfair to say AWM can't be trusted and has lied to fans in the past if you don't have the evidence to back that up.

What are these cheap tricks that AWM & Co have used to get people to watch? We all knew going into The Blue Butterfly that the main story was going to be set in 1947 and feature a kiss btwn Beckett and Castle's alter egos. Can you give some other examples of these "cheap tricks" being used to get people to watch only to pull the okey doke on them and let them down? Again, if you're going to make blanket statements about the show you should have actual examples to back them up.

I'm not trying to be an ass here. It's just that it's really unfair for people to come on here and say things that are simply inaccurate. AWM is as direct as he can with fans. He can't come out and tell us what's going to happen and when. He can allude or hint but he has to be vague. Like it or not, he is the show runner and part of his job is to build an audience for this show. He does that not only by crafting intricate and interesting story lines, but by enticing audiences by leaving them little Easter eggs to gather in interviews that he gives.

Are there other show runners or cast members of shows who come right out in interviews and give away specific details of important plot points? I don't claim to have read every single interview ever given by every person ever. However, I would still love to know who these people are who are going around laying it all out for viewers. If they're doing that they're making it easy for people to tune out...because, really, who wants to watch a show when you know everything that's going to happen before it happens? Spoilers are fun but they don't give away the farm! They get fans talking and make people excited to watch and see what really goes down.

So, please don't be offended by my reply. I just think people have to be fair when they post things about AWM & Co. Saying they aren't to be trusted and use cheap tricks to get fans to watch is inaccurate and unfair. Just saying...

    2. Well said! Could not have said it any better Elena!

    3. Just saying? I'm just saying too. Why does everyone feel the need to use that phrase?
If you want to be passive-aggressive about an argument, at least own up to it.

    4. To a certain extent I think you're right. It can be quite disappointing, like you said the noir episode, I think the teasing is fine, but I too thought it was a bit uncalled for to say that it could be between castle and Beckett. AM knows we want that, so I think it wasn't very nice to say it when he knew that wasn't the case.

Elena, I can't speak for anon 4.21, but I think another time was the big budgeted wedding, if I'm not mistaken that was being thrown around. Well we didn't even see the wedding, so I'm was kind of disappointed at that. That was Seamus interview I think. I cant really remember. I don't think they mean that AM lies all the time, I think it's more of a don't just believ what he says because half the time it's teasing, and you will only end up getting more disappointed. You know I think fans are just getting more negative about the show simply because the frustration is at its all time high. That's what I gather from the past weeks comments. People are fed up with the snails pace, it was fun for three seasons and I think they want it to move faster. I mean how interesting can you make watching a snail for three years, it needs to turn into a tiger or something with a little more action. Just my thoughts I guess.

I hope we get resolution today. Last weeks sucked for Beckett, and I hated that. Yes I've always been pro Beckett because I'm a woman and I love all she stands for. Sorry castle. I know that beckett is partly to blame for all this issues, but her character is such where she needs time to trust, and whilst she may trust him with her life, she doesnt trust him with her heart, and as a woman thats unrstandable. There are so many aspects she needs to know for sure about this guy, and his flriting ways are going to always be an issue. I hope he really reassures her, not just saying that she is his partner, but something more. I think they are at that pint where if they don't move forward, they are risking losing the dynamics of the show. I'm not a writer but that's just how I feel. They don't need to date, but it's time they know where they stand.

      Delete
    5. Definitely agree, Anon@5:25! I'm not even gunning for a real kiss (although that would be icing on the cake). I think just to have acknowledgement from each other about their feelings would add so much more meaning to all their scenes. Take Pandora, for example... It was really nice seeing Beckett give in and ask all those personal questions and have Castle reassure her as her partner. But imagine the same scenes if Beckett's secret had come out several eps ago and they had an understanding that she wants a relationship with him but isn't quite there yet (no, Rise was too ambiguous! doesn't count!). So now when she asks him about other women, he answers as "boyfriend Rick" instead of "partner Rick". That is what I wanted to see from this season, but it seems like the writers wanted to maintain the relationship reset established on the swing-set scene in Rise.

      Delete
    6. Anon 5:25, AWM and Seamus said pretty clearly that most of "Til Death" was going to focus on the events leading up to the wedding and not on the wedding itself. So, I'm not sure why that was misleading to anyone. Maybe I'm incorrectly remembering the interview but I do know that going into the episode I didn't expect to see too much of the wedding itself based on AWM's comments. Yes, show runners tease the audience a lot...they do that to draw an audience and get people talking...but that's not lying...it's not misleading...he's doing what all show runners do...it's part of his job. I can't be mad at him for getting fans talking, predicting, and debating.

Anon 5:03, I'm not being passive-aggressive here. I'm calling you out on saying things that aren't fair or justified. So, yeah, I'm just saying that you should have more than one example to go on when you say AWM is not to be trusted and lies to fans. I'm not looking to carry this on with you, either. I don't think AWM has ever lied to fans or intentionally mislead them in an effort to disappoint or let them down. Think/say what you want but I respectfully disagree.

  24. I've been thinking that Sophia calls Beckett and shows her the murder board in Castle's loft. Then Beckett would be heartbroken because Sophia knows about it, but she doesn't. And she would wonder if they slept together if Sophia was in his loft, and found his murder board or he showed her it. She would probably be really upset and mad at Castle for telling her that he loves her when he's hanging out with Sophia, and telling her things that he should tell her. So she will probably be heartbroken, and talk to Lanie about it, then Castle would be behind the door hearing everything she said about loving him and stuff, and he would tell her she's the only one that he would ever want, and then he would kiss her. I hope that happens, but probably not. Maybe. That would be a good fanfic.

  27. Why would the emphasis be "How will Kate react?!?" if Kate is the one dropping the 'I remember everything bombshell?' If she's the dropper, Castle is the drop-ee and the logical question would be, how will Castle react to the fact that his beloved Kate has lied to him more than once?
