I'm starting to think the oh so hyped kiss is alternate lanie/castle liplock...and there won't be any other kiss. Which is good because i won't feel like they cheated with another fake kiss between castle and beckett.
OMG, I love this. I hope it's not the best moment in the episode, but even if it were... Notice how he only said Kate-- she assumed he could only be picturing her with him. And of course, he denies it in the most adorable and funny Castle way.
Actually, I love this idea of meta-meta plot. They have been fantasizing about each other for so long and this plot gives them an opportunity to invade each other's minds. It's one thing to joke about fantasies with sexual innuendo (as they have done before), but quite another to get a peek into intimate quarters of a person's mind.
I wonder why we are getting this many sneak peeks. Are they afraid people won't be interested in this story?
I think it's because it's the beginning of 'sweeps' month here in the states. It's all about ratings. They want to get as many people as possible to watch the show so they're giving us an extra dose of spoilers. That's my thoughts on why anyway.
I've been watching since the pilot and haven't missed a show yet. No way I'm going to miss this one.
All reporters, (especially kecks) confirmed a kiss, but they didn't say between whom,and Stana chose her words wisely so we can't really decipher...well i guess we'll see monday.
Kate should not be surprised that Castle is fantasizing about them. She knows that he is in love with her. In Cuffed she gave him permission to fantasize about her, lol.
Or maybe Kate is worried that Castle might have an inkling that she heard the "I love you". She looks like she is trying to gauge if Castle knows her secret.
Well with the first 10 Minutes spoiled and two sneak peaks (1min approx each) that don't cover the same material we've seen about 14 minutes of the episode which normally run 42-45 minutes.
Let's do the math. 42/14=3
So we've already seen approximately a third of the episode already.
Are we SURE that the kiss is between the alter egos (1940s C&B)? I think it would be so Marlowesque to make the kiss between our actual couple, tricking us into assuming it would be between the alter egos.

Feburary is sweeps month. There are showing a lot of sneek peeks in an effort to raise ratings. According to the ratings they have been dropping steadily for the show the whole season. Pretty much everyone is tired of the constant will they won't play and the trotting out of Beckets mothers's murder whenever they need a sudden bit of extra drama to attempt to boost ratings. Even the ABC execs have become tired of the same old play. According the ratings statistics the show has fallen into the category of 50/50 for renewal as of the last episode. When the writers and creators of a show create a scenario that is wanted and then contantly say they know whats best and refuse to listen to what the viewers and fans like and continue to play on the same scene over and over and over again it destroys the show and then creates an atmosphere of where they have to start trying desperate things in a desperate bid to boost ratings to save the show. The show has reached that point. They have played the will they won't for far too long and trotted out the tired spectre of the murder of Beckets mother too many times. They tease back and forth, with far far more on Castles side, as Becket may show a little bit of jealousy once or twice but never any reciprocal affection, trott out the Becket murder and dash any thought of them together onto the rocks at the end of the season so they can start again from the beginning in the new season. Too many times this card has been played.
The new show SMASH in the same time slot and night just may, aptly named, put the final nail in the cancelation box.
Wow you work for NBC or something? NOTHING THAT YOU SAID WAS TRUE.

Castle is a sure thing to be renewed. It's fab. The ratings are always high. The chemistry between the two leads is HOT and it's moving at just the right pace. The funny thing is, everyone, all the fans, THINK they want Castle and Beckett to get together. What they don't know, is that actually they don't! I love the just-about, but-not-quite of the whole Caskett relationship. I think Andrew Marlowe understands this better than anyone. He'll play it out as long as he can, but i also think he's learnt from the mistakes with Bones and i think it will probably happen in the fifth season and it will be much more natural than Bones getting together was. It's a great show though and i for one, will be sending a strongely worded letter if the unthinkable happens - pigs fly- and Castle is not renewed. :) alison ~x~

Yeah I heard the ratings have dropped too, and it's mainly because fans are tuning out because of frustrations with the back and forth between the leads. Honestly about 5 of my own friends have stopped watching the show already. I hope it doesn't get cancelled though. I love the show but would definitely want the relationship to move faster. A new show at the same time could very well pull in viewers who are fed up of waiting.
I really was so surprised with all the sneak peeks...why is abc suddenly nice to us...hehe
I love the spoilers, but at the same time it means that they are desperately trying to get people to watch...which isn't good. Yeah I agree too, the same finale for three seasons and the dragging out the relationship between castle and Beckett has been annoying, and not everyone can be so patient I guess. There is progress but it isn't consistent.
Well AM Did warn us fans would be frustrated I'n the first half of the season. However I know people eat h this show for our leads but honestly If them getting together is the only thing that will bring fans back the show is doomed. People have to watch it for a mix of the banter of caskett and the actually stories told each week. It's not a romance comedy. It is a crime drama after all. Don't get me wrong I want caskett to happen as much as the next shipper but say you took Ryan espo and lanie out of it all of sudden and just had castle and Beckett make gooey eyes at each other for the entire episode whilst sorta solving a crime who'd watch for more then half a season?
My point is gates, Martha, Alexis, Ryan espo all their stories matter too. Do the deserting fans not like there stories? I do I watch for them too! I like the entire package of the show and it would be a great loss if this show gets canned because of the will they won't they issue. They will AM confirmed it so those deserting shouldn't. Oh well that's the end of my rant!

I totally agree with Anon 5:37, this show is going to be around for a long time. Don't let the pessimists drag you down to their level.
Whats wrong with some of you? When you're so convinced that the show is going down and got only bad ratings than please, please give me a article in which I can read it because that's drivel!! Everywhere it means "Castle's going better/ Better ratings than before......etc." Please stop making the show worse than it is - because it isn't!...
And yet, those percentages for S2 and S3 are for the ENTIRE season, not just up through episodes 13 which is what S4 is based on. Castle has 10 more episodes to factor into those numbers. And Castle ALWAYS performs better in the Spring.

I agree. My tv will be tuned to ABC Monday night, and it will not change during the course of the show. I need my weekly dose of sexy! I can't believe there are actually Castle "fans" out there willing to jump ship so quickly just because the show isn't moving as quickly as they would like.
I started watching Castle in the 4th season. I saw the first 3 seasons in DVD. When I was watching the first 3 seasons, I paced of the love story was normal to taken into consideration that this is a TV series. The character development is excellent. Yet when I went to a Castle forum and read discussions dating back during those first 3 seasons, all I read were SLOW< SLOW SLOW , NOT ENOUGH CASKETT etc etc.
Now in the 4th season, that is happening again to this fandom. Some fans are again complaining about slow, slow, , not enough. The writers are giving you an epic love story while staying true to the characters they have developed.
In retrospect, if the so called fans who are so impatient were the ones writing the story for this show, the 2 leads would have been in bed in the first season and by this 4th season, the Castle and Beckett might be grandparents already. I am just saying.

The question of if a show is renewed or not is answered by the 18-49 demographic percentage that it pulls in and not the number of viewers. It is all about advertising and in Castles case its' 18-49 demographic has been steadily dropping.
You can use any website to look at that says it tracks the ratings but the only true one that matters to the networks is the Nielson ratings and that rating has shown a steady decline in the show.
It is not so much the slow pace of the relationship it is the constant same way they keep doing things that most people are tired of I think. They never talk about there feelings. Becket snaps back at Castle rather than reciprocate a show of affection. There has been the show of concern and relief in Cops and Robbers and thats it and a couple of signs of jealousy but even then she is more ready to give him up than try to keep him. There is nothing there other than wishful thinking on Castles part and the fans. Move on with that storey line, its tired and no longer working. Playful banter is fine but the storey line is obviously not there unless they will talk about it. You can also have an intertaining show without bringing up her mothers murder to try and get a boost in ratings every now and then as well. Thats a story line that should have been played out already. Even daytime soaps don't drag out like this long.
Well, what you usually get in soaps are getting together and break ups alternating throughout, becoming boring too and unrealistic. I would rather have a show with the characters are well developed and have their relationship last. I certainly would not like Caskett to turn into like soaps.

Wow, I wish you would take the time to check your facts. Demo is a factor, but it's not the only factor in deciding if a show is renewed or not. Performance for the network is also a factor.
And I guess you missed the news/publications stating that networks have had to start looking at the Live +7 DVR ratings in determining a show's actual performance as families have had to start working more than just day jobs to support their families and rely on DVR to still catch their favorite shows. And where does Castle measure up in those numbers? One of the best performers for the network in the demo increase and the viewership numbers and have been consistently all year. They've also been in the top 25 of all three categories for all prime time networks all season long. Hmm. You must be one of those spoiled brat fans who didn't get it your way right away and started spewing all these half truths to vent your anger. Amusing but sad.
Here we go again. Someone voices a dissenting opinion and the megafans get all upset and start attacking. Anon 8:37, I tend to agree with you somewhat. I have watched every episode of this show. Seasons 1-3 had a natural flow and incorporated all the aspects that make the show great. I have felt season 4 lacking, too, and I also find the way Beckett treats Castle to be somewhat ridiculous. She seems annoyed with him more often than not, which is annoying to me as a viewer since we know she knows his feelings toward her. I also feel a lot of moments are forced, such as the hand holding thing in 'Bitches'; it didn't even fit in with the rest of the episode. (That episode was otherwise great - just proves you don't need to have relationship moment all the time to make it work, just good writing.) I do think things will get better here, the last two eps have shown improvement. (Till Death was a disaster.) The two parter looks really interesting, I actually hope they don't spoiler us to death on that one, I want it to be a surprise.

Correction: 'An Embarassment of Bitches' was the top rated show two weeks ago. I'd forgotten that last weeks show was a repeat of 'Demons'.

Get off it already. No one here is going to believe a single thing you have to say if it's so obvious that you can't tell what's going on with this show.
Wow, I wish you would take the time to check your facts. Demo is a factor, but it's not the only factor in deciding if a show is renewed or not. Performance for the network is also a factor.
DeleteAnd I guess you missed the news/publications stating that networks have had to start looking at the Live +7 DVR ratings in determining a show's actual performance as families have had to start working more than just day jobs to support their families and rely on DVR to still catch their favorite shows. And where does Castle measure up in those numbers? One of the best performers for the network in the demo increase and the viewership numbers and have been consistently all year. They've also been in the top 25 of all three categories for all prime time networks all season long. Hmm. You must be one of those spoiled brat fans who didn't get it your way right away and started spewing all these half truths to vent your anger. Amusing but sad.
Here we go again. Someone voices a dissenting opinion and the megafans get all upset and start attacking. Anon 8:37, I tend to agree with you somewhat. I have watched every episode of this show. Seasons 1-3 had a natural flow and incorporated all the aspects that make the show great. I have felt season 4 lacking, too, and I also find the way Beckett treats Castle to be somewhat ridiculous. She seems annoyed with him more often than not, which is annoying to me as a viewer since we know she knows his feelings toward her. I also feel a lot of moments are forced, such as the hand holding thing in 'Bitches'; it didn't even fit in with the rest of the episode. (That episode was otherwise great - just proves you don't need to have relationship moment all the time to make it work, just good writing.) I do think things will get better here, the last two eps have shown improvement. (Till Death was a disaster.) The two parter looks really interesting, I actually hope they don't spoiler us to death on that one, I want it to be a surprise.
