ADAM: After chatting with Stana Katic, my money is on a kiss... and much, much more.
"What fans will see is probably the fulfillment of what most any fan
would like to see happen with the Castle and Beckett relationship,"
Katic says of the episode, in which Castle daydreams about a detective
who falls in love with a gangster's moll (played in Castle's fantasy by
Beckett, of course). "Fans will be seeing the ultimate expression of
love for those two characters." Ultimate expression of love? Is that
what the kids are calling it these days?

ReplyDeleteOkay, now I'm actually really excited! I like how it's going to be imagined in Castle's daydream and not just dream. Daydreams are proper fantasies, dreams are too ambiguous. This is going to be yummers!!!

ReplyDeleteHey do you guys (and girls) remember that one season promo where Castle was daydreaming about playing pool with Beckett? Fantasy Beckett blows some rose petals at him. Then Real Beckett snaps him out of it and he wakes up. Real Beckett then walks over to him, pulls a rose petal out of his lapel and walks away smiling...like she had seen everything he'd been daydreaming about and the line between fantasy and reality has blurred somehow.

ReplyDeleteI would think that the ultimate expression of love would be to sacrifice one's self for the other. It will be interesting and exciting to see what happens in this episode.

And in a way Castle has already sacraficed himself by keeping his secret - he knows that it has the potential to make Beckett extermely angry with him and possibly loose any chance of a relationship with her (although we know that they will eventually get together, he dosent) yet he keeps the secret to keep her safe...... I consider that sacrificing yourself to protect the one your in love with !

ReplyDeleteAt Shera, the pi will die for the moll...I think it will be castle guilt from last seasons finale of letting her get shot. He wasn't fast enough to take that bullet, and maybe in his dreams he wishes he could have taken it. Just a guess.

i think it'd be interesting to see it from Beckett's view. i mean anyone who has read the Nikki Heat books or watched the promo knows how wild Castle's imagination can be. but i already know that...i'd like to see Beckett actually imagining them together or sacrificing her life for Castle (for once, she could take a bullet for him)

Sorry to burst everyone's bubble. Although i agree that sacrifice is the ultimate act of love, i think what they really mean here is sex. Awm would not let such an opportunity go. I mean, it's castle's imagination. He has fantasies of them all the time. Obviously it's a sex scene. I'm 99% sure of that. Especially the way they've teased- is that what the kids are calling it these days? It can only mean sex. We're already seen these sacrifices in real life. Why would they need to show it in the imagination too? Not to be Debbie Downer here, but i'm sure they're just going to take a physical step. Even though it's imaginary, i'll take it.

ahahah GB... i remember this JAG episode... it was cute... and when Harm saw Fantasy Mac walking out of the shower and sitting down next to him , on his bed, under he realized her called his girlfriend the wrong name (MAC). The expression and the quick recovery was funny.

wtwt the kiss.i think what marlowe is trying to tell everybody is that the only way you will see any interaction between kate an castle is in your dreams.as far as castle goes. marlowe will hold that carrot out in front of you in hopes you will chase it for another few years or get fed up an change the channel..
ReplyDeleteI think the PI dies for the lady. In fact the whole daydream is inspired by the corpse of a man they find and while investigating they find his diaries.

I bet this will definitely impact our DD. The kiss is gonna be "fake" and not between Castle and Beckett. But the whole story will make them think and reflect..
Last year Castle was officially renewed for season four on January 10. Is anyone surprised the show hasn't yet been renwed for another season this year? I know I'm not...hope this episode and the ones after it will be an improvement :(
ReplyDeleteNot at all surprised, actually. and not because I think this hasn't been a strong season, it's been one of my favorites. So, why the lack of surprise? Because NONE of ABC's shows have been given a pickup yet, at least last I checked this morning.
DeleteLook, for all the moaning about castle's numbers, the facts are these:
1. The numbers are consistent with last years numbers, when the show was renewed. The show's numbers are also fairly high up on the percentage scale for the network.
2. To the best of my knowledge Castle is an in-house production for ABC, making it cheaper and more profitable compared to those shows for which they only hold distribution rights.
3. Season 4 will wrap on episode 81, just shy of the usual 88 that would solidify the syndication deal with TNT, and bring in rerun $. A fifth season would also give the show it's 100th episode, still considered red a milestone for an established show.
4. Strange as this sounds, don't discount the fact that Nikki Heat sells well in real life too. There was a recent write up, in Publisher's Weekly, I think in which they said the ebook sales have been very good for Hyperion which is also owned by Disney.
Since it's supposed to all be in Castle's fantasy, I think it's safe to assume that 'the ultimate expression of love' means sex. Which is unfortunate. In my opinion, anyway. Because it's *not* the ultimate expression of love -- it can have plenty of perfectly shallow, selfish motives behind it. If AM goes that way, I'll be disappointed.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I can see the self-sacrifice theory as a possibility as well, because (correct me if I've misunderstood), isn't the episode supposed to sort of recreate a mystery from the past? So maybe when Castle and the gang solve the mystery, it turns out that 'Castle's character' ended up sacrificing himself for 'Beckett's character' (or vice versa). Or is that just wishful thinking...
Isabelle , I agree with a lot of your comments. However, i think it really may be sex they are talking about after I read the spoiler again. 1. She says theres a kiss and much,much more. 2. She says its what fans want to see happen in the real Castle and Beckett relationship. 3. The last comment when it says "the ultimate expression of love is that what peopl are calling it these days".
ReplyDeleteI think that Beckett means so much more to Castle than just getting her in bed. However, this doesnt mean that he dosent think about it in his imagination cause we all know he has a big imagination.....

I would much rather "the ultimate expression of love" to be what your hoping for (sacrafice) because then it wouldnt be one of Castles crazy fantazing but him imagining about how much he loves and what he would do for Beckett !

Castle won for best tv crime drama and Nathan one for best tv drama actor ! That means its a really , really good sign the Castle will be renewed for season 5 ! Look at us the fans made it happen !!

Hmmm. I don't think they'll sleep together. This is a whole different time period with different standards. PLUS, hopping in bed with a gangster's woman would get the PI killed all by itself. If she really is a gangster's moll she wouldn't be alone long enough to get down and dirty with anyone else.
