ReplyDeleteI know there will be people complaining that it's not a real kiss, or probably won't be, but I don't care. Well, I do, but I'm happy with what we're getting. A fake kiss is better than no kiss, am I right? We should be thankful because a lot of shows don't get this much action between the shipped lead characters.

ReplyDeleteIt will likely be a kiss btwn 1940s Beckett & Castle, which is still pretty amazing. Some descriptions of the ep say what happens btwn 1940s Beckett & Castle mirrors our own Beckett & Castle. Could there be a real Caskett kiss, too? Hmmm....

Does anyone know what episode it is is it 13 or 14? Sounds like its gonna be a great episode they really are doing this season amazingly so far only 6 days till it starts again :-)
ReplyDeleteYou know what, I think like most spoilers, this is not going to be what we think. Bare in mind beckett is someone elses girlfirnd in the noir episode, so she could very well kiss him if its them at all. The kiss may also be esplanie or any of the guest stars.
ReplyDeleteIf it is them, im not too happy, another fake kiss? Hhhmmm i hope AM has a plan becasue 1 fake kiss per season isnt good writing. But i will reserve my comments till it comes out. Personally i would rather not have a kiss than a fake one. I just feel its tainting their relationship with all this fake stuff.

Ok if there is a kiss between our leads, i hope its in present day, but i doubt it. Another pretend/fake kiss just isnt going to do it. Not anymore. Not now when we know how they feel. Anyway yeah I agree with Anon 3.32, where are the 4.11 sneak peeks? Shouldnt it be out?

Im not expecting much of this kiss,because as mentioned by others its probably a fake one, so i will just enjoy the rest of the show. I want a real kiss, dont know when AM will give us that, but thats what im looking forward too...

I'm hoping the kiss will be between BOTH 1940s Caskett and present-day Caskett. It might be crazy to even consider that, but I just feel like AM is so sharp and creative. Would he really have them kiss and have it be another "fake" kiss? So far, the storytelling on Castle has been pretty original, right? I've yet to see a storyline that I think, "yeah, that's been done." I mean, Mark Pellegrino, who's guesting as the gangster in this ep, said that the chemistry between 1940s Caskett mirrors present-day Caskett. Could that mean if there is a 1940s kiss there might also be a present-day kiss? Possibly. I'm not putting down any serious money on that idea, but it would be pretty sweet.

Anyway, who knows what will really happen? Like some of you have been saying, maybe the kiss won't be between Caskett at all...that's definitely a possibility. Still, it's fun to imagine a Caskett kiss.

I agree with everyone here - AM won't pass up an opportunity for a second "fake" kiss between our leads - it should at least keep us busy while we wait for the real one. *sigh* someday....

ReplyDeleteThis kiss may not be between Castle and Bcekett anyway. It might be some other couple. Andrew Marlowe is creative so I hope the kiss isnt another pretend one, I mean, its like been there done that. If it is a fake one, then I hope we still get another kiss this season and a real one.

We'll probably get sneak peeks like normal, usually they come through every Friday late in the day here in Australia, so that's either thursday night for the US or Friday morning I'm not too sure.
ReplyDeleteOooh, ooh, I have an idea-- maybe towards the end of the episode we'll get the real Castle and Beckett imagining *together* a scene from the 1940s. The scene they imagine between the two characters becomes tense and they end up kissing in real time, but because they were play-acting in their heads, the kiss stays somewhat ambiguous in meaning (yet real). I hope something like that plays out.

All I can say is if there's no kiss between Castle and Beckett, then it's a complete waste of Castle's imagination. If he's going to concoct a fantasy world, he might as well get some action in it...

ReplyDeleteAM has yet to dissapoint me, and I know he loves surprising the fans. I think it would be just like him to "hide" a real Caskett kiss in an episode that isn't as dramatic. I mean, between The Blue Butterfly and the two-part episode with a rogue CIA agent, where do you expect the kiss to be?
Plus, AM did say in an interveiw that Caskett would touch on the secrets surrounding Beckett's mom's case in Dial M for Mayor...

Elena.. i agree with you . If the kiss is between Beckett and Castle i think i would rather it be real or none at all if its not.... dont get me wrong anytime they would kiss would make me smile and get butterflies inside , yet I dont think my shipper heart could take another fake kiss !!

Yeah, it's a push and pull here with this kiss. I want to see Caskett kiss so badly...I mean, that kiss we had last season was pretty hot...especially when Beckett let herself get caught up in the moment and really go for it for a few precious seconds. Still, it wasn't a kiss for the sake of kissing. It was very real to both of them in a sense...but there was still that safety net of, "Oh, it was just a ruse" that saved them (well, Beckett) from having to actually deal with it.
ReplyDeleteSo, yeah, I want to see them kiss so painfully badly. Still, I really want the next kiss to be one they can't deny or explain away. I want it to happen in a way that there's no denying WHY it's happening...and I want them to deal with it head on afterwards.
It might very well be that Marlowe pulls the okey doke on us and has them kiss but only as their 1940s counterparts. I just think that, from what he's shown us so far with this show, he is anything but trite and conventional when it comes to storytelling. I also love that he is a total Caskett 'shipper. He wants them to be together and looks forward to the day when that happens bc he knows it opens up an entirely new plane of possibilities for the show. He knows the story doesn't end when the leads get together; that's just when it starts getting good.
He's not gonna throw them into bed to satiate the 'shippers, which is also good (though I want to see that crazy badly). He wants to take them there in good time. Until that day comes, however, he is committed to moving the story along in a way that is intelligent, heartfelt, and purposeful. He will not keep them apart for the sake of prolonging the will they/won't they stuff. He won't throw ridiculous obstacles in their way and recycle tired plot lines (for example, he's already said there will be no more 3rd parties coming between them bc he wants them to deal with one another head on). He has too much integrity for that kind of lame and lazy storytelling that insults the fans and makes the show unwatchable.
I know I tend to go on and on sometimes about my faith in Andrew Marlowe and his team of writers, but I really appreciate how they are doing things so far. They don't bait the fans with stories that never develop fully or pan out. They don't put something into motion that they drop along the way and pretend like it never happened. They know these characters as if they were real people and make sure developments in the plot stay true to who we know these people to be.
There's a lot of crap on tv these days, but Castle, from the very beginning, has stood out as a shining light among them all.
Anyway, I'm not sure how I went off the rails with this post, but I'm hoping that if we do get a kiss from just 1940s Caskett and not present-day Caskett in this episode there will be at least one real, game-changing kiss between them later in the season. It's time for them to move on and put things in motion, and I think the writers are way ahead of us on that one. :)
In conclusion, I effing love this show. The end.
Elena I think if we do get a kiss from present day caskett it would have to be real. If they kissed, u know them and not their 1940s counterparts they have to talk about it head on. Because castle said he loves Beckett and they cant brush it off again. And if they kissed their is no going back. Their relationship would have to move forward. So either they kiss then the secrets comes out or the secrets comes out and a kiss comes later. So I think the 1940s them should kiss because Kate isn't ready for a relationship yet. And AM said they won't be going into a relationship with secrets. So unless the secrets are coming out soon, I don't think we will see any lip action. And I love this show too.:)
ReplyDeleteI have complete faith on AM too. Though I just started really watching this show this season, I saw and felt the epic love story he is telling us. He is yet to disappoint me. He stays true to what he says and promises.
ReplyDeleteI agree that he never tends to be trite. He might seem to take some really over done plots but he always give some twists to them. He gives them the unique "Castle" touch. I can't wait to see what he will give us for this special episode. I am sure it will leave me smiling at the end again and again.
