Only hours now till we can see this episode well only a day for us unlucky people in the Uk then we can get it online I think that the month hiatus has actually gone really quick. But hopefully there won't be another hiatus until the end of the season when we get a ridiculously long hiatus lol
@pattycica.. You're right..we'll survive another day..and meanwhile i'll consumo this blog ahah @anonymous 3.54 am..i hope too! If this season was timeless it would be awesome!
for everyone who is saying they have to wait another day...i watch Castle every week from this website: http://www.tv-links.eu/tv-shows/Castle_9161/ it will be up in about 8-9 hours!!!! cant wait!!! :)
going to be a REALLY GOOD episode i can tell :) Ryan and Jenny are getting married everyone!!!! ;) haha so excited!!
Thanks for the link anon 7:17 the only reason I have to wait until tomorrow is coz it on in the US at like 9 or 10 so in the UK that's like some stupid time in the Morning when everyone's asleep lol
My alarm will go off at five in the morning so I can watch this because I live in Germany... Don´t disappoint be dear writers ;))) SOOOO EXCITEEED! :)))
English of course :)First: I'm not a fan of dubbing, too much gets lost; second: you'd have to wait five month or something to get the episode in a different language.
(I'm anon January 9, 2012 8:57 AM)I always watch in English. The Spanish one is OK though. It's just that I got used to watch everything in original version, English mainly. It's OK, I'm used to switch four languages for work every day.
English of course..here in Italy, usually we have to wait March but this year Castle's season premiere was aired in October..and this is very good!only the most successfull american tv series are aired simultaneously with USA (grey's anatomy,pp,desperate housewives) :D Btw i prefer original dialogue( sometimes they are modified) and original voices..but i love nathan's italian voice..it's weird ahahah Ps sorry for my bad english..but thanks to this blog i improved it a lot :)
Wow so cool~!!! Had no idea Castle was shown in so many different countries. we Castle fans rock. Hello to all of u in other countries. Im in Canada so no wait time but I feel for all of u who have to wait.
@Lorie - thanks for the feeling-with-us ;) I started watching in German, the latest ones in English and now I'm in France for a year and watch Castle in French sometimes, it's hilarious!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZ0a9RDpMaw If the link works for you, then you can watch a bit "Castle-French" :)
Here in Portugal we see Castle and all the TV show and movies (except animation) with the original voices and subtitles of course, we (portuguese people) prefer that way :) New Castle tonight oh yeah!!!!
In Belgium they subtitle everything, except for the children's programs. And that's how I like it best! When I buy dvds, I even put on English subtitles, just to make sure I hear every word they say correctly. The original dialog often has so much subtext, I don't want to miss that in a translation!
(I'm anon8:57and 9:46 again) Olá, vizinhos Portuguêses.
Hello, Portuguese neighbors. In Spain, for historical and political reasons, we have a long tradition of translation and dubbing. The dubbing of films and series are outstanding and that's great for most, as not everybody has had the opportunity to learn foreign languages. My poor father wouldn't be able to see his favorite series. However, since we have the opportunity to receive the original version (on TV or online), this is always my choice.
Hi. I'm from Barcelona, Catalonia. Here we watch the show tomorrow morning, Tuesday. Congratulations on your contributions. The blog is fantastic. See you soon
WOW!I am from Serbia, and I AM IN SHOCK!HOW MANY FANS FROM HOW MANY COUNTRIES?!?!?!?!?!?! wait...Castle's fans are from:America,Canada,Mexico,Argentina,Brazil,UK, Italy,France,Spain,Portugal,Belgium,Germany , Hungary,Serbia,Grecce,China,Russia,Japan....and moooreeeeeee, sorry if I miss someone's countrie, and sorry for my bad english. So,cheers my fellow Castle fans!
Hello, in France season 3 episode 22 is on tv right now, in french. In my opinion english voices are way better! Can't wait until tomorrow for episode 4.11! love you all castle fans!
@anon 12.01 pm here in Italy we have a long tradition of translation and dubbing too. Our dubbers are great (translation mmm), i mean beautiful voices but always those voices. Stana, cote the pablo and teri hatcher have the same voices...and Nathan and brian austin green too ahahah Btw i always choose original version..and after i re-watch dubbed :) i could almost dubb a third time ahahah
I'm from the UK but I've listened to it in a different language before just to see what it was like. Have to say English is defintly the best to listen to it in coz sometimes with different languages u can't tell the difference with some of the voices and coz it's in a different language the voice doesn't match the way that the actors Are speaking so it's kinda weird to watch.
Anyone else is nervous about the ratings for tonight's episode? Seeing the somewhat disappointing numbers for repeats in the past weeks with the lack of promotion by ABC and a rating soft Bachelor as a lead-in, I'm kinda biting my nails for it. Hawaii 5-0 is on repeat, so more pressure is built on beating that show for the #1 spot tonight. I hope people remembers to watch tonight!!
@anon 12.40 pm..you're right!in Italian there isn't the "th" sound like in English or American English and sometimes when you see actor's mouth moves it's really weird..for example our dubber pronounce Martha in Italian...Marta and it's weird if you always watch Castle in original version :)
I love how there are already over 40 comments about where people are and what time they can watch it and stuff love how there are so many castle fans all over the world that watch it a lot of the comments aren't even related to the actual episode lol can't wait for it to air gonna be awesome
Just wonder if u fans from other countries can watch online instead of waiting till 4 am or the next day to see it. Here in US Canada we can download or free stream it at 8pm even though it doesnt air untill 10pm. This is the most interesting disscusion post yet. Love hearing about u awesome fans from else where.
hi lorie, in france we can see it online but it is not uploaded until 4AM (it cooresponds to 10PM for US and Canada). The US and canadian websites are locked in france that's why we have to wait.
Yer in the UK u got to wait till like 4am or something so that it is the same time as it airs in the US so for me anyway it's easier to wait till the afternoon to download it even though it wild be so much better if it aired all over the world at the same time so we could all watch it at the same time lol
How about you keep your mouth shut? Specially when you know it hasn't even aired. I guess it was just for the sake of being an "ice hole", well you got it.
I know the episode airs soon, but here's the link I just used below. Very high quality, and comercial free! http://www.sockshare.com/file/699D68385F03450A
Unfortunetly, some moments have already been spoiled, and though I don't wish to spoil any other events, I would like to reccomend to everyone that they watch the episode anyways, as it was a very funny episode! I think almost everyone will be pleased!
I wasnt lovin it. Some funny moments but lacking in an interesting story line and comedy. I was bored! I miss the banter. I almost liked it better when Castle annoyed her or she pretended he annoyed her. Im sure its just me. I LOVED this show but i find more episodes r boring me.
Ok just watched it...great episode...some really fun moments, some not so interesting moments...
Im on the fence with this episode...
Lets go with the stuff I liked first...
1)Funny storyline... 2)Loved loved loved Ryan going crazy... 3)Esposito losing it was cute too...im sure esplanie will be together again soon... 4)
Stuff I was a little dissapointed about
1)I didnt really see the foreshadowing of castle and becketts future...unless all AM meant was seeing them walking down the aisle...hhmmm 2)Seamus mentioned in a few interviews, that Castle, beckett and Esposito will be thinking about their plus ones and what to do. Esposito did and it was so funny, Castle had one but alexis cancelled, Beckett didnt think about it at all. She was completely fine and happy, so Im not sure what Seamus menat.
3)Several Meaningful glances? Really? I did not see that, except for the very end. So just 1 i guess. And even that was not really a meaningful glance in my opinion, it was just a smile. And the camera doesnt show Becketts look at that point.
4)Castle should have at least told Beckett she looked nice, that would have taken like 5 seconds. He seemed more interested in looking aouund. When he enters he is smiling at someone, we dont know who, and then he just looks at beckett like he is seeing her in her normal work clothes, no pause, no "wow you look geat". I thought that scene was very dull.
Not surprised that they didnt dance, though i would have loved that, but I knew AM wouldnt give us that.
Overall, from case and storyline, I thought it was nice, from a relationship aspect, Im sorry I didnt see the foreshadowing that AM promised. Maybe its just me.
Here goes, sorry guys I hate to say this but based on all the interviews from Andrew Marlowe, Seamus Dever, god I was soooooo dissapointed.
The storyline was cute, Ryan and Esposito were hilarious, but honestly thats all I remeber from this episode. Dont remember anything about Castle and Beckett, which is sooooo weird!
The wedding scene at the end did nothign for me. And I love weddings, but I didnt see the "love" so to speak. Ah hope next weeks is better.
Is it just me, or is the chemistry between RC and KB like seriously lacking? That last scene should have given me butterflies, but NO it didnt. Ad yeah I agree with anothe comment, where the meanigful glances? Can someone please point it out to me, becasue I sure didnt see it.
I loved Ryan and Esposito in this episode, and I must say Espo looked so good in his suit, cant believe this but he looked better than our ruggedly handsome writer.
I'm surprised that many of you are dissapointed by this espisode! I loved it! Ryan and Esposito were hilarious, and so were Castle and Beckett! I loved the case, thought it was really unique! I also loved the wedding scene. Espo and Lanie were just so akward but sweet at the same time... I have to say, I REALLY didn't expect that! Plus, I loved how happy Beckett was at the wedding! She's running around, and taking pictures... I watched that scene three times, I loved it so much! Honestly, I think this was one of the best episodes this season!
Not quite as good as Kill Shot, Rise, and Cops and Robbers, but I loved it just as much as Demons and Cuffed (which I think are just as good as Nikki Heat and To Love and Die in LA)!
An overall good episode, EXCEPT for the very last scene. I loved the episode in the whole, but it seemed like they just squeezed in the very last wedding scene, and it seemed kind of unrealistic. The acting was just weird, well, I love the actors, but I guess it was just written poorly... JUST the very last scene... the rest was awesome!
Cute episode that has some lol moments for me. But it did not live up to "Nikki Heat" episode I adore so much. But I gotta love how they handled Ryan reaction to the book :). Okay one couple down, two more to go. Make it happen they this season's end, Marlowe. I have faith in you.
Really guys? The whole third times the charm? Walking down the aisle? The numbers conversation? Beckett crumbling on hearing that Castle had a "date?" and you don't see the "love" in this one? Wow...
I hate to say it but the episode was kind of dry...
1.) There were NO meaningful glances
2.) The wedding scene was way to short... I would have at least like to see them at the alter, maybe with music playing over them saying their vows, while the camera shows the congregation *Castle and Beckett looking at each other*
3.) When Castle and Beckett saw each other at the wedding there was no "oh wow, you look great" dialogue or just that general kind of feeling towards each other
4.) When Beckett went to walk in with Castle, she kind of took his arm in haste and it seemed more "friend-like" than "im-in-love-with-you-like"
I'm just really disappointed because this episode was such a great platform to hint at the Caskett love. My greatest fear is that by the time the writers decide to put them together, they will be more like brother and sister. I STILL trust AM, so i'm really really hoping that isn't the case, but I do think we need more glances, and awkward silences where they don't know what to say to each other.
Gosh I feel so bad... I always have glowing reviews for Castle, and this is the first time I wasn't feeling it :(
Seamus did say that the ep would be more about the case than the wedding, but.... poor Jenny, she didn't get to walk down the aisle for us, but just called out one line from afar. We didn't even see the bride and groom together!!!
I can not believe I am going to say this, but for the first time this season, I am disappointed. I knew we weren't going to get the things we really wanted(drunken, flirty Beckett, anyone?), but this just sucked. The rest of the episode was great, loved the case, loved Ryan and Esposito, etc, etc. But I was expecting so much more from the wedding. Even just seeing Ryan and Jenny taking the vows, they hyped it up in the press, asking Seamus what it was like filming another wedding to his wife, and they made it sound like we would at least see the ceremony, maybe with some "meaningful glances" during the vows or something. So the fact we didnt even get to see the actual wedding is a HUGE letdown. I have been so happy with this season, but this just bums me out.
Just thought I would throw my two cents in here. I really did enjoy the episode, cute, a few LOL moments, # conversations couldn't dissapoint anyone I don't think, the most meaningful glance I saw was when Castle noticed that the ID was gov't issued (however, non wedding related). BUT, there was some "false advertising" with this episode if you will. I don't think it lived up to the hype in terms of the "huge budget wedding" because, honestly, there really wasn't one. Just a gathering in the lobby. And for Sheamus Dever to say it was great to relive the day and say vows in front of coworkers...well that just didn't happen. Finally, all of the promotional photos where Beckett and Lanie look disgusted and Castle is high fiving the vic appeared no where in the episode. I just wanted to bring these points up because I feel like the cast/ABC/whomever just needs to be more careful about what they are posting and saying about the episodes so they are not misleading. In conclusion, it was a good episode, but I think that if they are going to be doing promotion, just do it right or not at all.
Oh man, I totally hate doing this, but man I was expecting more. I always defend AM and constantly tell other who bash him to just trust him, it will happen, then this episode comes out and I'm like just sitting staring at the tv with no emotion whatsoever.
The story was just average to me, nothing great, but my biggest disappoint, ent was the last part. They just look like friends. And where are those meaningful glances AM was talking about. This is the very first episode that I'm giving a negative review, but I'm not going to lie. This episode just fell flat for me. The last scene was just jumbled up and thrown in there. They may as well have not put the wedding scene in.
Esposito and lanies chemistry is wonderful, and I'm happy that they seem like they will be getting back together.
Castle and Beckett, oh castle and Beckett the longingness was just not there. Beckett looks like she is just talking to her friend, not the man she is in love with. I really don't know what AMs plans are for these two, but I'm getting concerned that when they do admit their feelings, the heat will be gone.
@GB I totally agree! Everyone's all dissapointed that there were no meaningful glances and that the chemistry wasn't there, but I thought it was! All people seem to care about is the hookup, not the process of getting there!
So disappointed. If I had heard nothing of the episode, I would have said it was entertaining; a good Castle episode. But with so much promotion, so many interviews focusing on the wedding, I can't believe only 3 minutes were dedicated to the church entryway!
For the first time I am feeling like the fans are being strung along. Castle is great because it can jump from a serious episode to a playful episode, but at the same time it is really stalling the characters and making them feel less dynamic. I am losing faith and I didn't think that could happen!
This episode was anime disappointment for me. And this is coming from someone who didn't have expectations. Many were hoping they would dance etc, I didn't expect that, so that didn't surprise me but oth things did, and in a major way.
First of all, what meaningful glance? I don't recall getting any. This was such a good platform to showcase where they are in their lives, how they feel about marriage etc. it didn't have to be long conversations, because of course there's a case and all but short comments interspersed here and there was what I thought may happen. Then theres that stupid last scene. We didn't get to see Ryan and jenny together, he didn't even see her. Castle and Beckett looked more goofy and playful than romantic.
Nathan and Stana already of course knew how each other looked, their filming all day, but as their characters, seeing each other for the first time all dressed up, should have brought along some compliments. Just a simple, you look amazing Beckett, you don't look too bad yourself castle, then pause, and a shy glance or awkward glance. They looked at each other and talked like tahts how they dress to work everyday. I just did not buy that scene. Too fake. Looked like it was filmed haphazardly, last minute and the actors were rushing to the washroom or something. I didn't see the underlying love they have for each other.
anon 8:26.. Actually there was the high five scene tonight. It was a good episode, but I was disappointed because I thought the wedding would have been so much more... I agree how was it a " big budget wedding " when we barely saw it ? I really liked the last scene with Castle and Beckett talking about 3rd times a charm for marriage , but from all the spoilers thought we were gonna see so much more of the wedding... At least Ryan and Jenny saying I Do.... I thought all the other episodes this season met my expectations , but this episode didnt quite make it :/
Andrew Marlowe, what are you doing? I'm very curious. He seems to be avoiding putting in some good scenes when the moment calls for it. We have had missed opportunities from cops and robbers, killshot, and now this. So much underlying statements could have been made.
The last scene was just too dull for me. What meaningful glance, what huge budget, what designer dress...didn't really get to see anything did we. Ok I will stop complaining now.
The episode was Ryan's episode, for sure...I loved him in this and esposito too. Loved Ryan's facial expressions throughout, when looking at that doughnut, I was laughing. That was funny.
Ok now for my criticism, first of all the promotion and advertising for this episode was crazy, so many interviews about the wedding, the dress, the reflections for castle and Beckett and their future, that this is something they could have. Excuse me? When did all this take place because I obviously missed it.
We didn't even get to see Ryan and Jenny standing together, and I honestly do not recall any scene where either castle or Beckett were reflecting on their relationship or lives etc. nothing.
Beckett says third times a charm so non chalantly, no sweet smile, longing look, eye sex whatever you want to call it, just nothing. Is she even suppose to be in love with this guy? And then she takes his hand to walk in so brashly, again these two scenes with the right look on both their faces would have spoke volumes, no script needed. But it failed to deliver any message other than they were in a rush to get in.
Hate to do this but, I remember in bones, when Angela and Hodgins were suppose to get married, the first time booth lays eyes on bones in the purple dress, he was mesmerized. What the hell did castle do? Talk about being ditched by Alexis. So some of you may think that I'm being petty and very critical but hey I think the writers set themselves up for failure on this episode. So so very much could have incorporated but all was wasted. I am pissed. After a damn five week wait, I was hoping to be excited again about this show. Ryan saved the show this week and espo too, because castle and Beckett just didn't do it, not with this theme in the episode anyway. Their playfulness would have worked maybe in another episode, but with how the wedding theme and romance theme, that aspect failed.
I am FRUSTRATED, so very frustrated. And I didn't even have expectations others than what Seamus said.
Meaningful glances, several meaningful glances was what was to be expected. Why lie in these interviews. They tell us what they know we want to hear, but just set us up for disappointment.
anon @8:44, my thoughts exactly. what is going on this season? crammed in endings, potential big moments (and HYPE, HYPE, HYPE) turning out to be nothing, tigers and hillbillies....?!? to name a few misses and downright bizarre story ideas. this episode was extremely disappointing. i expected a ton more in terms of the actual wedding and all of the possibilities for the entire cast at the event.
there've been some okay moments this season but overall, i'd say something is definitely off this year. could it be the absence of reuben santiago has messed with staff chemistry and the writing? i don't know what it is, but i'm beginning to worry. i don't think this production team could afford the miss they had tonight, especially after such a substantial break in first-run eps. jmho.
I wonder if the cast filmed a lot more - as always, to allow room for editors to make it run within the alloted time - but the vows and glances were cut, without Seamus knowing?
I'm going to investigate Twitter to see what @seamusdever may have said during the last scene...
At anon 8.44, I totally agree. Something isn't right Witt the writing this season. Are most of the writers new. Seems like andrew Marlowe and Terri miller need to take over the writing and out castle and Beckett back on that sexual tension romantic track.
Just watched and was wondering if I missed like huge chunk because whatever I read in interviews didn't pan out. Meaningful glances, huge budgets, reflections, foreshadowing. Uh where was that exactly?
This was a bad episode to start of the year. It was funny yes, but on relationship aspect, it was so so mundane. Definitely didn't live up to all the hype for this episode.
Well the only good thing is Ryan's married. One stable relationship.
I really didn't like this one. The mystery seemed to jump around, rather than flow, and there was only luck, no detective work. I felt the bit with Jenny sleeping with the victim was distracting along with the limejuice thing, either one or the other would've been fine. I was really disappointed in the wedding. I mean, jeez, I felt rushed to end the show! Plus, I think Stana Katic is one of the most gorgeous women on the planet, but her hair was flat and she had on wayyyy too much makeup, plus the girl looked like she needed to eat a hamburger.
Oh, and if Esposito called Ryan "bro" one more time in this episode, I was gonna leap up and smack him through the tv.
What kind of ending was that! Beckett doesnt even look at him and share a menaigful look or glance. I feel like pullig my hair out.
You know all they had to do was have beckett and castle sharing meanigful glnaces or shy looks and that would have made a world of difference. They dont even need lines. Stana and Nathan have great eye sex, why not use it when it counts.
Ryan was hilarious, love how he jumped on espo.
I agree with anon 9.11, this season is off as compared to the last. Lots of missed opportunites with castle and beckett. At the rate they are going, they are going to end up losing some fans. Too much hype for this one epiosde and ntohign comes out of it.
9:07, I do not think you're being petty and I completely agree.
I love Castle, I love these fun episodes, but these were the things I expected back in the second season. What I want now is more focus on the characters and the relationships! I'm so over these cases and its the other things that draw me in about this show. Sure if there was no hype over the wedding and the relationship talk and all these meaningful glances, I would have been slightly happier, but its the fact that they continue to promote these episodes that give me such high expectations for an episode, and we don't even get the ceremony/any of the reception!
The problem I have with the writers is that they put such a high emphasis on the cases, and absolutely none at all on their personal lives. Case of the week, smhase of the week! Even though I'm sick of the Johanna Beckett episodes, at least it provides enough emotional development. Get your act together writers!
I'm not going to lie I was a bit disappointed, I thought the wedding part would be longer and I was hoping to see Beckett and Castle slow dance. I did however, unlike some of you, really enjoy this episode. This episode was about Jenny and Ryan, not Castle and Beckett. Also, it was nice to see them shine the light a little more on Esposito and Lanie's relationship, I loved Esposito in this episode.
All in all "Till Death Do Us Part" kept me interested, made me laugh, gave some not many cute Castle and Beckett moments, and aside from needing a better ending I liked this episode.
Ok im going to be harsh, for an episode i thought would be right up there with cuffed, it is one of the worst this season. I dont know what went wrong. I wasnt feeling it. sorry.
I must be dreaming, but I did not see menaigful glances as per what seamus said would happen.
For the first time this season, I fell cheated. and it isnt nice after making us wait 5 weeks.
I'm a tad late I know, but yet this episode was a slight underacheiver for this season, now lets not lose our heads, thats only compairing it againt the brilliance of this season, cause I swear they where on a role. The Esplaine thing the whole way through was cute, and Jenny and Ryan are just made for being a couple.
The only thing I really wanna say is foreshadowing or no foreshadowing, wedding dress or no wedding dress. Beckett and Castle linked arm in arm complete with matching smiles, is a moment that highlights why I lve this show and it's TPTB and why I can watch them continue to play games week after week. Cause I'm patient enough to say; it's not if, it's when.
At Castle fan, actually if the episode was suppose to be about ryan and jenny, it failed too, since jenny apperaed like for 2 minutes in the entire episode.
The problem with the promotions and interviews done is that they give fans false expectations. Though it is Ryans wedding, the writers know that fans are going to focus in on the leads to see what they feel or how thye may react to certain things.
If you notice all the interviews seamus and andrew did, all without fail asked how this wedding would effect castle and beckett, becasue though we love ryan, we still are more interested in the two leads and where they are headed. So they play up that card to get people to tune in and then we are dissapointed. I would appreacite them telling us the truth. Now they give us more reasons to doubt them and loose interest in the show. They are basically crying wolf here. They keep this up and people are going to loose faith in these promos and expect the opposite of what they are saying and not tune in.
I had high hopes for this episode, but it just didnt work for me.
I liked the episode right until that last couple of minutes. I really thought we would get a glimpse of the ceremony. The ending was weird and dumb and just off to me. I actually said out loud whne it ended..."thats it?"
Well at least we got a "moment" at the end. Castle and Beckett walking arm in arm down the isle. Plus her comment maybe 3rd times a charm. We know she wants a relationship with him so it was a kind of leading statement. Overall the most disappointing thing for me was not getting to see at least the ceremony. I was hoping for that at least even if there was no dancing or seeing the reception etc...
I think the problem is we all tend to forget this show isn't just about watching the progression, (slow it may be) of Castle and Beckett. Its also one of the best crime/cop dramas on TV. The story lines for the cases are always pretty good. If every episode was focused on Beckett and Castle moving forward then Marlowe would have to get them together pretty quick of which we know he does not want to do.
As long as they dont throw in other love interests for either of our leads, or a cranky Beckett storming out on Castle saying "I'm Done" yet again, I am happy to keep watching their cat and mouse game. I know we all say that we will keep watching when they get together and I am sure we all will, however will there be as many posts? Will the show generate as much conversation? If so for how long? How long will we be talking about how cute it was to see them kiss if we get a kiss every other episode? How long will the little things like Beckett saying "next time lets do it without the tiger" have the impact it currently has?
I know AM can keep it interesting once he finally gets them together, he may even break them up for a bit and get them back together, however I fear that will be the main story arch once they are together. We will all be focused on "oh no please don't break them up". This will become as frustrating as waiting for them to get together. As like I said, watching them all in love week after week as much as we want it will get boring after a while. Sorry please dont hate me guys as I really love this show and I truly am a shipper but just think about what I have said before blasting me :)
Ok I didn't expect much from this episode, but I thought we would at least get a genuine compliment about how they looked at the wedding. So surprised we didn't even get that. Wow. Seems forced. Like it was a deliberate plan to not have the, notice each other looking all handsome and beautiful. Isn't it natural when you see people at a function or wedding, your friends, partners especially someone you secrets love, to say hey you look really nice. The fact that neither of them did it, shows that the keeping them apart thing is starting to look very forced in my opinion. It would be been a sweet compliment to both of them if they had said it. Just like espo telling Lanie.
Overall I have to say, was surprisingly disappointed and a little frustrated with this episode. When one goes in with no expectations and still gets disappointed, that says a lot. I hope the writers have a plan of how things are going to play out, because right now it just seems too fragmented.
The season is already in its econd half and so far nothing has happened. And we know the next couple of episodes doesn't really focus on their relationship as well, so what another season finale. I haven't been consistently watching this season because the episodes haven't been able to pull me in. I wonder if the second half of the season will be the same.
At anon 10.25, hehe no blasting don't worry...you have a point. But I don't think that after they get together, it will be them kissing in every episode, we may get holding hands, watching movies at the loft, other little couple things, Beckett going shopping with Alexis, things like that. So no I don't think people will stop commenting here. And their relationship isn't going to be all rainbows and lollipops all the time, they will have friction. But I'm not worried that AM will break them up. I think regardless these two at that point would be strong enough to deal with issues maturely.
Come to the dark side, my friends. Accept that the heat is gone. It was snuffed out on the swing set in Rise, and has been replaced by fear of rejection, tip-toeing around perceived boundaries, and the one thing we all watch TV to get away from: routine. Their relationship is nothing if not routine.
The "sword play between a man and a woman" that Stana used to like to reference in Season 1 and 2 interviews is g-o-n-e. No more sword play for us.
Sad.
But look what we have to look forward to! In a future episode we get to see how Castle interacts with a suddenly homeless dog, and how his actions inform Kate of the type of family man Rick would be... as if we haven't had Alexis and Martha to illustrate that from day 1.
Really, it IS more fun to count the ways they put off getting them together and creating a slow (some might say sleepy) build until the show has no more gas and no one really cares if they get together.
Don't think I'm a hater. I'm not. Never missed an ep to date. Still, I just don't like to be disappointed, so I've adjusted my expectations accordingly. The wedding scene was rushed, yes. Boo on that. But the chemistry was exactly what I was expecting.
I know AM has a demi-god status on this page, but IT'S OKAY to be frustrated. Don't feel bad. Just adjust.
She-ra I want some of those cookies, I don't know what to think about this episode, are they afraid we are gonna stop watching if they get together? there is no need to worry, we are stopping to watch right now!
I guess I'm the only one who liked this episode. I thought it was good. I loved the donut attack moment I was laughing so hard I couldn't breathe. And I loved the number convo between caskett, and esplanie. Me my sis totally called the gay and cousin plus one, lol. Loved espo like being protective. All in all I thought it was good. The only thing I was dissapointed with was a short wedding scene and no dance from caskett but I liked it. I think people should just shut up and watch castle. I mean no disrespect but this is the first ep of the second half of the season, and u all think season 4 just sucks. I mean if u don't like the episodes that's ur opinion. The reason there hasn't been any big moments like the talk on the swingset, is anything like that would change their relationship, and they r not ready for that. Most likely becketts secret will come out ep 16 and that's when we will get some major movement. I know u all are going to say we just want good caskett moments like AM promised, and we will get them, but we need to wait. And we can do that because we already waited 3yrs. Caskett will be a couple by the finale. There is no reason for them not to, since both secrets will come out before. So yes this ep wasn't the number 1 ep of season 4, but if u r going to let it define the whole rest if the season which u don't want to watch, leave. AM said we would be frustrated, which we damn well are, but he said the second half would be amazing and better, so I'm having castle Monday's. If u need something to reassure u well stay and see what AM does. He is going to surprise us, and if he does something big, he's not going to freaking tell us. So stay or go
Hahaha she-ra, but you are right, that sword play and sexy banter is gone. And the writers are stringin it along now. It's not consistent, I feel the heat in one episode then the next five nothing, then one again, then the next five nothing. You're right it's coming to a point where I am starting to feel like its not worth it anymore. But what will I watch on Monday nights then? What else is on?
Yeah the dog thing is kind of lame, everyone knows, including Kate and she has commented on his fatherly skills one more than one occasion, that he is in fact a good father and has mgiven Alexis everything she needed. This dog doesn't open eyes here, hers are already open.
Routine. That's the perfect word to describe them actually. Didn't realize that.
What cookies? Maybe I want some.
The dialogue on that last scene could have meant so much more with the right eye contact and expressions. It was underplayed. And in my opinion fell flat for the viewer.
At Brit, no disrespect to you, but do you ally think AM will get them together by season end? I highly doubt it. You say the secrets will be out so nothings in the way, I say the secrets out and everything will crash around them again. I don't think AM is going to make it that simple. I would love that but when has AM ever done such a simple plot. When has anything been easy with castle and Beckett. I really hope the isn't another shooting or another we're over line and then the hiatus. Because all that's been done , more than once. Let's see.
As for this episode, the reason why lots of fans including myself is disappointed is because certain things were mentioned specifically in interviews which didn't happen. It seems very obvious that the writers wanted us to believe something else in order to tune in. Where we're the reflections, or the meaningful glances? I will admit I'm wrong if you can help me see these scenes. In fact I would love to be wrong so I can go and enjoy watching the epsiode again. We didn't even see Jenny properly in her wedding dress.
The episode in ititself was not too bad, Ryan was just hilarious and I loved the doughnut attack and the Chinese food attack. Really cute. Esposito was fun too. But I felt that this episode should have had a deeper or more profound effect on our leads.
That last scene, Beckett tells him third times the charm, like she is just having a random small talk with another guest she just met. Where was the emotion. It was all played down. Like someone else said, that scene could have been one heck of an amazing scene, had the actors actually put more into it. I don't know if Nathan and Stana failed here or the director in directing them, but I don't think it was the writers for that scene, because that line was sweet but the looks didn't go with it.
She-ra, you definitely said it. Hand me the cookies ;)
And Brit, I really like the fact that you still believe in the show, that's good, because it lives from its loyal fans.
BUT, if half of the season has already been lame, (except for 1 or 2 good eps), then YES I think I can consider this a lame season already :D And this sounds really harsh, i know that. But to be serious, I used to remember almost all episodes that aired during a season, just by their storytelling or how they affected Caskett. Seriously, from this season I only remember Rise and Cops&Robbers, the others were nice fill, but the red line is gone.
At Brit, sorry but who are you kidding. They are not going to get together this season. The fact that the build up this season has been slow should be enough of proof that they aren't going to be together...don't you think if that was the plan, it would start showing a little. I like that you're positive but don't set yourself. Up for disappointment.
Oh, the cookies we have--all chocolate based so that we may be slightly sated as we watch. And the rule is that every time you WISH one of them would make a move or send a signal, you have to take a bite :)
I just made that rule up, but I like it.
Some cookies to choose from include:
Rocky Road (for the rough eps) Ginger Chocolate Chip (for when you're missing the fire) Peanut-Butter Chocolate Bliss (for when you need to sin vicariously FOR Caskett) Make Some Whoopie Pies (think homemade, poofy Oreos, and these are for moments of rare decadence--when one of them actually does move an inch) White-Chocolate Gems (for when you're waiting for a TRULY chocolate moment)
I could go on, but I think you've got the point :)
Brit, you are not the only one who liked it, I did too but I must say I was annoyed with the last part. Could have been so much better. I liked the funny moments, the story, the episode is general until that last part. That sucked...really sucked.
Ahhh thanks she-ra, I'd like to place an order for a tub of ginger chocolate chips, because I'm so missing the fire now days...makes me sad. Btw, I'm in Malaysia, do you do international deliveries!!! Hehe...
@anon11:44 and anon11:57 haha I'm not that positive. I can see where ur disappointment is coming from. We didn't get any meaningful glances. What I don't understand is why you think it's not possible for them to get together by season's end or beginning of season 5? I mean what besides trust issues would hold them back? I don't know what AM will do but I think he will shock us. I want them to be together, but don't worry I don't think that everything will be happily ever after when the secrets come out, I'm not that kinda girl. I just wanna know why you two don't think so? Do u not think the second half will be good? And I appreciate u both for watching out for me
@Anon 11:59 Hmm. Maybe I don't deliver, but you if you're feeling adventurous, you can try the recipe :)
Ginger Chocolate Chip
Oven Temp:350F
Ingredients: 2 CUPS SUGAR 1 1/2 CUPS BUTTER, SOFTENED 1/2 CUP MOLASSES 2 EGGS 4 1/2 CUPS FLOUR 3 TSP. BAKING SODA 1/2 TSP. SALT 2 TSP. CINNAMON 1 TSP. CLOVES 1 TSP. GINGER 1/2 TSP. NUTMEG 1/2 CUP BROWN SUGAR DICED CANDIED GINGER (to taste) DARK CHOCOLATE CHIPS (to taste)
Instructions: In large bowl, beat sugar, butter, molasses and eggs until light and fluffy. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup and level off. Stir in flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves, ginger and nutmeg; mix well, adding in ginger and choclate chips to final batter. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate 1 hour.
Heat oven to 350F. Shape dough into 1-inch balls; roll in sugar. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 8 to 12 minutes or until set. Cookies will puff up and flatten during baking. Cool 1 minute; remove from cookie sheets.
My suggestion to everyones is read the books, as maybe that is the only place we will get what we want. If only the Castle/Beckett relationship was like the Heat/Rook relationship in Heat Rises. It's not just physical anymore between them in never was just physical. However you can see the love definitely creeping in a lot more by the third book. Plus Nikki Heat is not as emotionally shut off as Beckett. She is more open with Rook, she isn't afraid to let him know she is into him either. For those of you that have read it take your mind to the scene at his loft on the kitchen counter after rook nearly gets shot. Now that was passion! Yep read the books guys :)
It was a great episode. Seamus and Jon shine, Espo's jealousy was cute and Ryan is really starting to shine as he's starting to be the one who solves the cases lately. I'm likely the Ryan/Espo dynamic as they are really coming into their own as a duo, rivaling Castle and Beckett.
Stana seemed too muted in her expression. Maybe I've been spoiled a lot when it came to this show but her reactions didn't seem as animated, although the virgin banter was good and what she would do if scorned was cute.
Nathan, I'm worried about. he's a great actor and can deliver castle's lines like nobody else but the man has started to look tired. I'm hating myself for saying it, but the character of castle has really started to lose the youthful man child vibe that made him great. We need him to go back to being a big kid soon, maturity is fine but if this keeps up I doubt I'd want to see him and Beckett together, and I've been a Caskett shipper from day one. The reason they would be great together is because castle is a huge kid who can drive her crazy, with his honest and childish love. Without that they are just a boring couple.
This episode was standard good episode that gave us a little bit of everything; no major complaints.
Shera, thanks for the recipe...yeah will try it...haha how did this site turn out to be a recipe exchange site. That's funny. But with how things are with castle and Beckett sometimes we need comfort food.
I've always defended AM but I'm starting to think that their little dance is getting just a tad bit slow and boring.
I liked the show, especially the part where Ryan had more and more difficulties to stick to his lime juice diet and the jealous Esposito. I liked also the part where they were talking during the break when Beckett learned that Castle was bringing a date or when Castle asked Beckett with how many men she had slept with. But after these scenes, I was rather disappointed Beckett and Castle were looking more and more like good friends, no sexy eyes, no comment from Castle on how Beckett was dressed at the wedding, etc.
About 30 or 40 years ago there was an ad on tv for a fast food restaurant, the lady said where's the beef? In the case of Castle, we could ask where is the heat? I certainly didn't feel it during this episode.
I think a lot of people are forgetting that the show is more then just the castle Beckett relationship. Don't get me wrong I'm a total shipper and want them to get together but there is more to the episodes then the build up of there relationship. We can't expect every episode to be a huge leap in their relationship some episodes will have very little reference to it but that's just the way it is. We all know that they are gonna get together at some point hopefully this season but were only on episode 11 at the moment so still got loads of episodes left. If every episode was focused heavily on the movement in their relationship it wouldn't really be much of a cop show but more of a love show. I think the little hints and the little bits related to their relationship that comes up in episodes is good. Every topic that comes up always ends up about their relationship and I just think that people need to remember that there is more to the show then just there relationship.
I haven't seen the episode yet only clips of it but from wat I've seen it looks really good all of the characters had there fun moments especially wen espo jumped on ryan and I don't get wat was so bad about the ending yer the wedding could have been longer but the Convo between espo and laine was good and the little bit with castle and Beckett was good. I think it was a good way to start the second part of the season with a light fun episode and look forward to the rest of the season.
I get everyone's got there own opinion but this is just mine.
@anon 12:13am, the mention of Heat Rises made me giggle because as soon as I finished the book I realized how much of a love letter Castle had written to Beckett through Rook/Heat interactions. Obviously it has all the intimate scenes, but what underly the physical relationship are support and trust (and protective) Rook clearly has for Heat, mirroring Castle's own feelings for Beckett. Castle also made Heat a wonder woman with all the action scenes in his book which should tell Beckett how extraordinary ( and badass) she is to him. With this in mind while seeing "real life" Castle in season 4 putting the ball in Beckett's court, and seeing things through her eyes thanks to her scenes with the shrink, I still see two people in love who long for each other. So while the episode was lacking some serious eye sex, I'm kinda glad they didn't have to hit us over the head with something we know (hope?) it's there all along. Or at least what I know already existed between them...
The episode was funny, I liked Ryan's attack on the food. I think the storyline was good. But I do question where the meaningful glances were? I don't think I saw any. Disappointed with that. Didn't see any reflections either so i wonder why it was mentioned in interviews. I hate thinking that they deliberately lied to the fans.
I also didn't see foreshadowing. Unless them walking down the aisle was foreshadowing. But that is kind of silly to use as foreshadowing since I'm quite sure this show isn't going to get to a point where they get married. With the current rate of their very very very slow romance, I don't see it happening. So I don't think marriage is foreshadowing, so what was it?
I understand why people are disappointed, I am too, but the episode was still fun. Definitely Ryan and Esposito were the best here.
Yeah agree that end would have been heaps better if they had the right look and glances between them. Beckett looked like she didn't really care about the third charm thing. I'm thinking she is thinking of herself, I mean why would she say it of it meant he marries someone else. I don't know I guess I'm petty, this episode was definitely not one of the better ones.
well i liked this episode , i agree alot whit britt. And I also like the way Castle is growing up showing Kate that he is a guy she can trust, and he is given her that space that she asked for in the first episode in this season. So i hadn´t set my self up to a kiss or a hug in this episode because i like the slow dance they are doing.... I am looking forward to next monday :-))
At Lawrence, I totally agree. He didn't even compliment her. To me that was really dumb. I takes 3 seconds to say, you look stunning. For a guy who is suppose to be in love, the least he could have done was compliment the woman he is in love with. Im not feeling the heat or the love. Yes they care a lot about each other but love? Man I really don't know. I'm not really seeing it anymore.
Like I said a simple you look stunning and a gaze at her would have done the trick. This episode could have been great but it was just mediocre.
just 2 minutes for the wedding ceremony???? COME ON!There should have been a dance or at least something...gah..i don't know! it just ended way too fast!!! on the other hand, totally loved this episode(especially Ryan's food obsession along with Esposito's +1 one) way to go Castle :D. P.S.: i really loved the fact that Beckett made the first step this time and the "3rd time's a charm" thing(it's becoming clearer by the episode that she's starting to open up to him more and more... i just hope for a real caskett anytime soon...:D)
Shera I think we are all a little older than we like to admit especially since we are fan girling all the time. My husband always laughs at me, tells me to stop acting like I'm 16... , and yes if the lime juice drinking scene was the highlight then we're in trouble.
I can only wish upon a star, that next weeks is a whole lot better.
What was with the end? Oh boy no wonder there are so many post here. Castle, you couldn't spare a compliment? The whole scene was so rushed. It honestly felt so fake.
I can't just cross my fingers, hold my breath and wish upon a star that something big is going to happen with castle and Beckett. I've been doing that for 3 damn years, and I'm done doing it. They don't need to jump in now but there isn't even much movement. How slow is this going to be? I mean really, the heat is dying. The sizzle is fading. Don't hate me, but I think I'm done with the show. Time to move on. Just my opinion. I guess I'm not as patient as I thought.
I liked the show. Any chance to see something new from this cast is fine with me. Ok maybe I'm too easy to please but I truly enjoy watching the characters and the players who play them.
Castle teasing Beckett about his plus one, Beckett being big sister Kate when Esposito and Ryan fight. Becketts 'all women have secrets and for the sake of a relationship some of them shouldn't be told' which was aimed squarely at Castle even though they started the convo about Ryan and Jenny. Becketts offering to be each others plus one..which NEVER would've happened in either of the first couple of seasons. And again Becketts 'third time's a charm' at the end...they both knew they were talking about each other. That's a subject that neither Beckett or Castle would've even broached before this season and I think it shows how far they've come in their relationship.
Sure I would've liked to have seen more of the wedding or the reception but they're limited by time. I think they squeezed in everything they could and none of us know how much of the show ended up on the editing room floor.
To finish, I trust AM and I love this show and I'll still be tuning in every Monday night to see what they come up with next.
The episode was about ryan and jenny so i think if beckett and castle had loads of cute moments and eye sex etc going on i think it would have taken the focus off the point that it was suppose to focus on ryan and jenny and there wedding. there will be an episode where there are lodz of caskett moments but considering its the first episode after the hiatus i think people need to give it a chance and enjoy the fact that its back on every week and enjoy what AM has in store for us
i must say this episode has been a huge disappintment. i expected a big wedding ceremony and not just 2 stupid minutes!! come on AM! that is messed up and totally wrong! but i did enjoy the part about castle and beckett talking about their "numbers"... :D
AM said in an interview (in the last couple of weeks), that they had already shown a wedding scene (in season 2), that they didn't want to repeat that.
That this episode was about things leading up to the wedding, than the wedding itself.
Complaining about something that AM pretty much told us wasn't going to be there seems kind of silly to me...
I'm not done with the show, but I have officially decided to lower my expectations. Expect nothing - then you won't be disappointed. I expected something to begin to develop by season 4, I shouldn't have. The bank scene in Cops & Robbers - fabulous. Thought there'd be some slow traction starting. Whoops, my bad. No vicious liplocks, no hopping into bed, just a perceived intimacy between to people who care about each other, growing a relationship. You know the likelihood is that they will be walking away from each other at the end of the season, brutally hurt by the secrets they kept from each other. That's your season 4 cliff hanger.
Ahh Tim, voice of reason. I mean no offence, i love all castle fans darkside cookie seduced or not. but was the number banter in the middle there not good enough? OUR CHARACTERS ARE GROWING! You cannot expect anyone to continue to act 12 years old forever. This is what the whole Rise swing set scene was about. Be thankful we've got 3 and half seasons through which we've so far weathered crazy ex's, old flame partners, XXL sized though loveless boyfriends, an attempted murder on one of the leads life, the ever present shadow of a family unsovled murder and a continuing case of PTSD. Not to mention THEY ACTUALLY SOLVE CASES! Forgive me but is it not a show based around in crimes, don't get me wrong this is the best ship on tv in my personal opinion. But when did we get so focused on the relationship, who watches a whole episode and actually focuses on scene's other than those of "Caskett"? People may be upset, with their own good reasons but this is why AM has his "demi god" status, many of them will return next week and the week after to watch because he knows what he's doing with his crew and cast and his TPTB that write this little slice of weekly entertainment for us up there on Mt. Olympus LA.
Obssessed maybe you're right. But this season funny episodes are really weak. Heavier are good - Killshot, Cops and Robbers, etc. In funny department they something missed. So far from this season for me only Demons was really good where almost every scene was hilarious. They missed opportunities in Eye of the beholder, Cuffed and now in Till Death Do Us Part, they just wasting potential here.
Brit, Im anon 11.44...you wanted to know why I think what I think...
As i said i just feel that them gettign together will be something AM will see as easy, and we know how he likes to make things complicated. Dont get we wrong, I will be thrilled if they get together, sooner rather than later, and I am someone who firmly believes that the show will only get stronger once they get together, but I just feel like its not going to happen soon. We know they have these huge secrets, which is going to come out by season end, there will be no time left in the season for them to get over things and deal rationally. They will be pissed and probably argue or fight. Trust me I dont want them to be separated again this summer...its been a routine finale for castle ever since it started, i want somethig different, but I think by the looks of how slowly things are moving, AM will separate them again after the secrets are out and then they will have to rebuild their trust, which is just downright stupid to me. They are just dragging out this dance and Im losing my patience.
Episode was very average to me. It was funny and i loved ryan going nuts with food. So cute. And Espo going nuts with plus 1 issues. funny.
What I didnt love? THAT ENDING. I mean that whole scene was dull, boring, tasteless, mundane, you get my drift...what happened to meaningful glances and longing looks. Or just looking into each others eyes.
That once scene could have been awesome if done right. No script even needed as someone else said. Just their eyes should have done the deed. To those of you who say the episode was about ryan and jenny, well then that was a disspaointment too. We saw 1 minute of jenny in the whole episode. We didnt even get to see the bride and groom side by side.
And the episode doesnt need to have lots of caskett, but in this particular episode, given that the wedding was suppose to have brought up underlying emotions and reflections on thier relationships, a more meanignful end scene was necessary.
What really bothers me is that it was mentioned in various interviews that we will see how its effecting caskett. Im sorry but which scene did we see it affecting caskett. Where were the meaningful glances and reflections. Why say all that in interviews and hype it up. Why not just leave it as it is and let the viewers watch.
I usually have nothign but good stuff to say about an episode, this is the first time, Im ranting and its mostly negative. I was disspaointed with the caskett aspect for sure. Like i said, i doesnt take much, he could have sent her a compliment about how she looked, to add some sizzle but nothing. And for those of you who are going to defend him saying castle is scared of being rejected thats why he is giving her space, yeah I get that, but paying someone a compliment, just saying they look lovely isnt going to get him shot down for goodness sake. What did he think she would do, run away and hide and build a wall becasue he said she look beautiful. And then the eye expressions at the end didnt look romantic or loving. Beckett says third times a charm like she is talking to a buddy.
I dont really care how long it takes for them to get together, I can wait as long as there are 2 things.
1) NO MORE OTHER LOVE INTERETS 2) CHEMISTRY, SIZZLE, EYE SEX ETC...
and right now no. 2 is seriously lacking! If AM isnt careful, they are going to start looking like brother and sister soon.
I have to say that this season is losing me. Last night was pretty dull. The chemistry between Beckett and Castle seems to be losing its heat. I sure hope that they can get back to some of the greatness of last season. I don't look forward to Monday nights like I used to.
This episode goes on my favorites list. And yes, for the Caskett too. First, no meaningful glances? You're kidding me, right? The break room scene about the date alone. The look on Beckett's face, and then his "it's Alexis" just at Kate? That was meaningful. As in full of meaning, about them. Not all "oh, I wanna jump you" no, but it was meaningful.
And his look at third time is a charm? Oh my, that was so warm and just -- perfect.
Foreshadowing? Yes, walking down the aisle. But, "All girls have secrets, and sometimes for the good of the relationship, it's better not to share." Yeah, not just about Jenny. Oh, and this: all the people stressing about the secret coming out and ruining the wedding, and then Ryan just being an adult about it? Are you paying attention Caskett?
And watching Kate watch Castle last night? First as he weaves the crazy spy theory. All soft amusement and then "Yeah, I got nothing better." Then he's coming up with all the alliteration and gets stuck, and the little nod she gave him like "okay, while you work on that..."
The banter over numbers? And then Esplainie? And the boys with the food? And the crazy women? So much FUN.
No they didn't discuss how they looked. Why, because EVERYONE ELSE DID and it was getting silly. You look, you look, you look, BAH. The man has seen her in a damn dress before, and they did the awkward wow then, too.
AM did say we wouldn't see the wedding. Jenny did wear a designer dress. Seamus did says it would be more about who took who. I don't know what people were expecting, but isn't that what we got?
Tonight I'm not going to make the argument I made after cuffed. One comment on here shocked me more than the episode itself. "Brit who are you kidding, they won't be together by the end of the season" Whoa, hold up. Brit I agree with you! I made the same argument after cuffed and stirred up massive debate, and for a while felt very bashed. Yay Tim, there you are, I knew we wouldn't get a wedding scene as its been done before, but I have a feeling a lot of tonights fluffy material was cut. Along with the high-fiving the hand......they probably decided that bordered on bad taste. Yeah, tonight was a little bit lacking at the end, it was all very "cute" and whats wrong with cute? Nothing. Cute is not steamy, lets all get out the pitchforks. Would everyone here like the magical solution to enjoying Castle each week? don't go into each episode going "is tonight the night?" then when it happens, bam! The reason the first caskett kiss was so explosive was because nobody saw it coming. I'll keep it short this week folks, Season 4 is about the secrets that are being kept. AM has stated both secrets will be out by seasons end. Caskett cannot happen until the secrets are out. And we get a kiss for 4x14. Yay. If they aren't together before the finale they'll be pretty damn close.
Honestly I dont know what to think about this epi. Even Killshot which wasnt shippery episode was a lot better and deeper than last two which should be kinda shippery(?) Maybe Alexi Hawley should write more Castle epis?
I liked the episode and found myself laughing numerous times. As for Caskett, just like always its all about reading between the lines or the subtext.
1) The numbers talk: Beckett says, "for the sake of the relationship"; she's using this as an explanation to not share Jenny's past with Ryan or her past with Castle.
2) I did notice numerous glances - small ones and not b/c of caskett moments but I'm starting to see this as caskett b/c everything they do is via parallel stories not head on although I do think they may get their eventually. My suspicion is they'll still do parallel subtext even after they're together.
3) Wedding scene 1 - Castle and Beckett come across as two in a young crush where its a little awkward and not quite sure how to handle yourself.
4) Wedding scene 2 - Beckett taking pictures: shows us how much a 'girl' she really is
5) Wedding scene 3 - "Envy him" & "Third times a charm": Castle's line is really telling Beckett that he wants what Ryan has and is sincere in it. Beckett's line tells Castle that she believes and has faith in him being her 'one and done'.
Sorry for the rambling but I saw a lot of comments regarding disappointment and wanted to share another point of view.
I loved this episode!! One of my faves as many before already indicated. And, funnily it's not because of the Caskett-stuff, but because of the Ryan/Esposito scenes. They were hysterical! I adored Esposito in this with the whole finding-out who's-Lanie's date/finding-a-date. Not even to mention the adorable Ryan! Honestly, I didn't expect too much from this episode on the Caskett-front and it delivered just enough for me in that regard. Those last few seconds - flailing!! I really enjoyed this one, even though many people would be disappointed by the very subtle Casketty-stuff. It was fun, light and most importantly good old-fashioned Castle-funny. Mr. Marlowe & Co. have the perfect balance right now and I really like that. I think we need to prepare ourselves that things are gonna get a little rocky in the latter half of the season. All in all, 'Till death do us part' was great.
@anon6:00am I understand where ur coming from. And I don't know if u heard but they r coming out before the finalie. I'm just assuming castle's will be out by ep 20, but I don't know. I could be totally wrong and I don't assume they will just simply get together. Nothing about caskett is simple. If it was they would have got together by the end of season 2. I just think the secrets will be out soon and when they come out there has to be some movement. I just think there has to be some reason he put the secrets in this season, it has to be more than just preparing to break caskett apart from the summer again.Again just my opinion, I understand if you disagree, and we will soon see what happens leading up and in the finale. @kelly,tim, obssesed, Sarah, will, and others thak u all for having my back. Your theories r great, and look forward to watching with u.
I absolutely loved last night's episode! There are so many posts here that I can't get through them all, so forgive me if I just repeat what's already been said. My favorite part of the episode was how HAPPY Beckett seemed. I can't remember an episode where she was just smiling and full of really good energy.
It was a delight watching Beckett watch Castle. I felt like the sly smile on her face and the twinkle in her eye as she watched him illustrated such a significant difference in her outlook on life. Up until Kill Shot she seemed to be avoiding him in a lot of ways...not looking at him, not letting him really look at her. I think she was so burdened by her secret. She knew Castle loves her but didn't know what to do with it, didn't know how to be happy about it. Beckett was still trapped by her mom's murder, as well as her own shooting, and was pushing him away. Now, though, she has made a decision to let go of her mom's murder and move toward Castle. Knowing he loves her no longer burdens her. Instead, it makes her happy and light. Something fundamental within her has changed and she finally feels WORTHY of his life.
We know she feels worthy of his love because she is seeking him out now. We first saw her seek him out at the end of 'Cuffed,' when she promised him there would be a next time involving them and handcuffs...sans tiger, of course. That look she gave him over her shoulder was full of flirtatiousness and confidence. Again, last night, we see Beckett is the one to initiate a charged exchange with Castle. She's the one who suggests they act as each other's plus one. She did it with some shyness but not too much. She didn't hesitate, she didn't look away from him. Beckett has opened herself up to the possibility of being happy in life, specifically with Castle. These seemingly little comments, looks, exchanges, etc. are signs of major character development.
So, what I'm saying is the episode may not have featured Castle & Beckett dancing close or going at it in the coat closet. What it did feature, however, was so much more significant. I was really looking forward to this episode and, though not everything happened that I thought we might see, I was extremely pleased with all that happened.
I think we have so much to look forward to as the season continues. I really do think it's possible they could be together by season's end...and, if not, they will be a hell of a lot closer than they've ever been before. Remember, romance isn't just wine and sex, guys. :)
PS Brit, I agree with you. Those secrets are going to be pivotal and they will absolutely lend themselves to significant movement in the Caskett relationship...and, I think, the movement will be forward, not backward as many fear.
Thank u Elena I'm glad u see my point. And that u also look forward to the season. I enjoy ur coments, and did u almost die laughing at the donut attack moment? Lol classic:)
2x11: Beckett: On one knee? What’s up Castle? Are you proposing? Castle: No, just waiting for you. 3x11: Castle: Will you marry me? (pulls out Ryan’s ring) 4x11: Castle: Shall we? Beckett: Yeah (Both walk down the aisle)
MS from Portugal.... Thats so cool how you noticed that good job !! I would love , love ,love it if Caskett actually got married in 5x11 ! Unfortunatley i doubt it will bet hey who knows lol ? Maybe they could be dating and Castle propose ? Or maybe they are dating and have to go undercover as a married couple...... I cannot wait till the day Caskett gets married !
I have loved the show since the beginning. I guess everyone says something like that before they slam something. But now,I have lowered my expectations for the show, and that fact really hurts. I feel strung along, more than usual with this episode which did not deliver all of the expectations in the hype. We fans waited weeks for this, and the competition is growing and gaining on Castle for many reasons. However, I enjoyed the last scene with our would be lovers walking down the aisle together, a picture of togetherness and love. Hopefully soon they will be walking together the other way, married. Their banter about numbers was amusing and showed their care and regard for each other...yes, love. Ryan and Esposito were great. Kate stunning. Where was the bride in all of this? Indeed, there were moments of laughter and happiness, but I felt the story line was convoluted and basically boring. It wasted precious time which could have been spent with Ryan and Jenny's wedding vows and ceremony and the effect it had on Espo and Lanie and Rick and Kate. I wanted to see the happiness at the reception instead of the dumb characters in the story line. The build up was weeks in coming and the episode fell very flat. And now for the elephant in the room which only one person here has alluded to. Nathan looks very tired in many of the scenes. Am I wrong to suggest this about our beloved hero? In some scenes he looks terrible and not the handsome lead he had been before. I think the director is protecting him with mostly dark lighting this year and side shots which show his still handsome profile. But the dark scenes (Cuffed)only highlight his tiredness. Nathan is a marvelous actor and I think person, and I hope every week (sometimes in vain)that he look to his health. How shallow am I to say this: In some episodes this year he appears very bulky and usually dressed in black to hide his serious weight gain. I can't figure it out but some times it's the weight and other times not. His handsome face even seems a bit distorted, especially those beautiful eyes, because of his weight gain. Is it just me... Am I being shallow? I hope Andrew and Nathan work on this issue. Or is it a non issue and I am stuck on seasons 1 and 2, most of three and even Rise...where Nathan was his usual handsome self. But I cannot help saying the above. I want my star back; I want Kate happy, and Rick and Kate to deepen their relationship, and Andrew to play fair with us. I am prepared to be blasted for such heresy.
I read most of the comments this morning (European here) and just watched the episode (is evening now) and I have to say that I'm on the wagon of those who immensely enjoyed the episode. I thought it was witty, smart and joyful. I have to say that I have seen many significant glances between B&C. They were not longing looks, even better, they were happy, relaxed and enjoying looks. My impression throughout the episode is that Beckett REALLY enjoys and has fun working with Castle and now she is plainly letting him see it. Gave me the idea that she is showing how happy she is to have him in her life, around her all the time. It was so refreshing. In the "count" convo she is bold and flirty. She knows her man and is surprising him with a witty yet wise answer. It was incredible how she is now behaving with Espo and Ryan. Watch a couple of season 1 episodes and it's so evident. She is happy, friendly and sisterly. She's a new woman. I'm impressed and what is nice is how impressed Castle is. I really believe he's seeing these changes and even if he's smart enough to understand that it's premature to make a new move, he's really happy to see her like that. It shows in some many scenes in this episode.
Ryan and Espo DO deserve their own show: they are hilarious. I would see them more in a comedy than a drama, though. But they have been both brilliant. I love how Beckett and Castle do really act as mommy and daddy with them sometimes. It's a nice friendly dynamic. I like how "team" they are now.
The tone of the episode was joyful, light and full of .. harmony. It's the only word that matches my thought. I really love this about Castle (the show), how different episodes can be and we get the fun (cuffed), the joy and harmony (yesterday's), drama and angst (kill shot), romanticism (cops and robbers), intensity (rise).
Looking forward to what's more to come. Loved the season so far. For what is concerning the ship, I still believe that this season they will not become a couple, but they are building a great relationship that is gonna sustain their romance later on, so it's a fun and entertaining to watch. Part of the journey might even last well into season 5, so still some time to go, but I am really enjoying the development and progression of the characters.
A couple of things that I am not very fond of: the marketing on this episode has been exaggerated and somewhat misleading. I know they really wanted to call people back to watch after the hiatus, but fooling the fans is not a good way. I'm too old and watched too much TV to believe all these hypes, so I was not particularly disappointed that some of the things promised in the interviews did not materialize. Yet I think producers should play fair and show more respect to the fans. Just IMHO. Second thing: I love, LOVE, Nathan. I'm a great fan of his. I will enjoy his work no matter what. However, I am still a bit worried about the way he looks. He's really too overweight for the merciless shot of a videocamera. It's his job, he doesn't even need to lose that much, just a bit. And he looks so much older than just a couple of years ago. So I really hope he's fine and healthy because he does not look fine and healthy. It's not good for the show, and most important, I worry about his health. Again, just IMHO.
@Anonymous 1138...I agree about Castle looking tired and unhealthy. I haven't felt the spark between Castle and Becket during the last few episodes. Actually, after watching Esposito with Beckett in the sniper episode, I started to think that there could be some really hot chemistry between those two. (Beckosito????) Just a thought.
So shall i have the word??? But read it first ALLL PLEASE!!!
So the ending was disappointing UNTILLLLL Tim in Rome (Thank you bro - Espo would say :D) illuminated me that AWM sad that the wedding was done before ant that this ep would be more about the preparation. And after that i saw that actually what he has said was TRUE - he kept the given word guys!!! What do you want more from him to make a castle out of nowhere :P
The ending scene: I was also hoping for a big ceremony, saying the vows ecc. - but think for a moment wouldnt it be too cliche??? Almost every TV show has a wedding and all its done in the same manner. AWM did it in his own way and that it didnt seemed too cliche and it was done in a way that it wasnt before (for me - still i woul have liked a whole thing with dancing - but i except also that ending - although he kept his word) ;D
Everyone was hoping for Castle to ask Beckett, but he still doesnt know how to act around her now so she encouraged up and asked him - its not that sweet cute and its not the 1st time that she asks him out or to be her date --> it shows her love towards him and that she doesnt want to lose him or to be with another man (he is hers one and done) :D
Another thing: I really loved at the last scene when Beckett is talking to someone and than she sees Castle and it feels like there it IS JUST him for her - she entirely focuses on him and she cuts the other ones with who is she talking to to go to him. And the tone of her voice - she is sooooooo happy to see him there and to be near him.
Glances glances glances - come on go and re watch the ep - just look at her. You really cant notice how she looks at him - with her eyes - just so full of love guys (it reminds me of the beginning of the 3rd season when he came back from the Hamptons and she was so happy to have him around with all the silly stuff he does and she was just smiling at him the whole ep ---> the same for season 4 and this ep and plenty of the others)!!!!!
And the last thing!! Again the ending - the awkward moments between them are almost gone - cant you see that they are acting like a REAL couple, shamelessly, they are each other +1, talking like they were already married, going down the isle holding hands like it is normal for them - they are actually a COUPLE - just not official (YET!!!!). They come to a place where its normal for them to do things like that (but still not ready to make it official) :DDD
So this ep was good for me, funny, with glances (more from Beckett side so re watch it and pay attention on Beckett), a lighter one, food funny stuff and I confess that I have expected more from the ending and I also have a feeling that it was made in a rush but maybe because the wedding was already starting (and you know the tension on the weddings) and maybe we must see the last 3 minutes in a slow motion to capture every glance and meaningful word that has escaped from us the 1st time we watched - because the ending was fast.
Lanie and Espo were amazing specially the last scene with them was soooo - I just melted I was thinking: Theyre gonna kiss, theyre gonna kiss :P
My bros, fellows, loyal fans: JUST HAVE A LITTLE PATIENCE!!!!
It wasnt that bad at all the opposite it was a light and hilarious one :D
Im glad you liked it (Hope that also the other fans from the dark side will see this and realize that the love is still there and the ep it wasnt disappointing just because there wastn the dance and the whole ceremony) :D
I try as much as possible to watch on things from different aspects (and to be objective - subjective :p) and i hope i did it properly.
I know a lot of fans miss the bit at the ending but actually we are the ones who wrote a perfect story in our minds and we were disappointed by it and why - simply because we dont write Castle and our version didnt appear on the screen. Imagine millions of different endings of Castle on screen - not possible.
I for one wont quit to watch Castle because this ep (as some of you would think) wasnt as good as Rise and in fact it wasnt bad at all it was very interesting to watch just it wasnt complete, full (because of ours expectations).
But lets put it in that wayyy all you crazy fans (in a good way of course :D) AWM cut the end scene so that we could imagine our own scenario - he let us to be writers in our small words so be happy you all can imagine a different ending of the wedding. Isnt it good????? More mystery and we can let our imagination run wild with imagining the end, he didnt cut the line he left it open just for us :D
Sooo you guys from the dark side dont be so crushed, save a few of those cookies and share them with the others and lets watch Castle together - we on the lighter side & in the middle will do some popcorns (ah btw who wants some nachos :P)
I loved this episode. It was one of the typically good Castle episodes that I think we were missing so far this year. It was witty, very funny and great plot. I'm not a shipper or anything and I just plain enjoyed it from beginning to end.
Don't know what the rest of you were watching. The episode was perfect. One of the best of the season. A good and INTERESTING murder mystery, some funny scenes, [Ryan jumping on Esposito made me laugh out loud], witty dialogue [Castle was on fire] and some cute Caskett moments - what more could you ask for? Even the stuff with Esplanie was nice. Seeing the wedding and a dance would have been cheesy [and it's been done before] I think A.M had just the right mix of everything in the episode. Sweet, funny and interesting. All in all, "Till Death Do Us Part" put a smile on my face - particularly in the last scene - Castle and Beckett walking down the aisle. Made me think Andrew Marlowe was hinting our favorite duo will get their happy ending in the end.
P.S And we are getting another Caskett kiss!!!!! Cue lots of running around the room and screaming like a little girl!!!!!!
Wow, I've lost so much interest that I haven't even watched it yet. Just sitting in my DVR, whereas I used to record it AND watch it live earlier. And judging by the comments above, it looks like I missed nothing. Yep, figured as much. In Marlowe I No Longer Trust!
As much as the Castle apologists want to pretend to be in the character's heads (She said such and such because she was opening up to him emotionally and he said blah blah because he wanted to show his maturity...) unless you have a mind-reading device, you are not the official voice of the characters. Until and unless the officials at Castle come out and say "We had Stana/Nathan do THIS SPECIFIC SCENE to show this reasoning", the above explanation is as likely as: "Tiny evil aliens crawled inside Beckett and Castle's heads and are remotely controlling their bodies to say and do things." And vague interviews about the generic season arc still doesn't mean make those mind-reading device valid.
@anon 1:17pm You can't be swayed by others opinions. How can you make assumptions based on something you haven't even seen? Not to mention us "apologists" don't pretend to be in the characters mind, what we do is analyse the situation from both interviews with Marlowe, cause many of them do offer explanations AND we actually watch the episode. When Kate says "I can't have the kind of relationship I want till that wall comes down". You don't have to be a mind reader to get it. I'm not, but I don't know about you I'd love to be psychic.
No one here is claiming to be a mind-reader or the official voice of the show. We are discussing and exchanging ideas, trying to break down episodes and share theories. You might want AWM & Co to come out and tell us, scene for scene, what everything means and explain the motivation for each and every conversation, look, etc., but that's not going to happen. Where's the fun in that, anyway?
Just like with any book worth reading, things that happen on Castle (and any quality tv show) have to be left open to a bit of interpretation. The writers want their viewers to discuss character/plot developments like people are here and to debate/speculate about what has happened and what might happen in the future. It's what keeps people coming back for more and ignites interest in viewers.
I mean, come on, if Beckett and Castle share one of those intense, lingering looks they've become famous for, are they supposed to then break, look at the camera and say, "We looked at each other like that just now because we are in love with one another but don't know what to do about it just yet"? Is there supposed to be an interview with AWM or whoever wrote the episode to break it all down for us? How ridiculous would that be? I know that's not what you're literally suggesting should be the case, but I'm just saying a big part of the story is told in the subtext and words unspoken. As Castle himself once said, you often have to pay attention to what isn't there rather than what is (ok, yeah, he said that about how to carve a good pumpkin but it applies). :) A lot can be said with a subtle look or facial expression...and sometimes what's being said is left to the astute viewer to interpret.
Everyone here claims to be a true fan of Castle and its awesome cast & writers. No one here claims to be a mind-reader or the "official voice of the characters." We're doing here what people in book clubs do...taken what a writer has given us, reading between the lines, debating character motivations, noticing character change, and making meaning, connections, and predictions about what could reasonably happen next. When people discuss books they don't claim to be in the authors' heads or to have absolute knowledge about why characters act a certain way or make certain decisions. There's no difference between this discussion group and a book club.
Anyway, I'm sorry you feel so negatively about the show and have given up on AWM. I really feel like we're just about to get into the good stuff this season, so I hope you hang in there and give the show a chance. The people at ABC, as well as AWM & Co, expect Castle to be around for a while, so they have to kind of stagger the love story just a bit. Of course, no one wants it to drag but remember that AWM isn't the sole person in charge of deciding when Caskett will get together. I'm sure he'd love to just pull the trigger (bc he is a self-proclaimed 'shipper) but, in reality, he needs the go ahead from the network before he does.
Also, I hope you will take part in the great discussions that are going on here between fans. All opinions and ideas are welcome and appreciated, whether or not they're popular ideas. Just know that no one here is speaking with absolute authority about the show. We're all just positing theories and sharing our thoughts about what, for many of us, is the best show on tv.
Give "Til Death" a shot. It really was a nice episode and, even if it didn't force Caskett into one another's arms, it set up some really nice possibilities for the future. You might end up liking it, after all. :)
Ranting is the first step. Then come the cookies, and suddenly the show is fun again! Except there is that little issues that our beloved Nathan doesn't look as enamored with his role as we are. Anyone who claims he does not look older and less enthusiastic to show up every week are entitled to their opinions, but he honestly looks like he'd rather be somewhere else.
Boo!
But I eat cookies and pretend not to notice. I'm already suspending enough disbelief that I can add that to the pile pretty easily.
And for those who haven't seen the ep yet and are not excited based on these comments, may I remind you that nothing raises the enjoyment factor more than lowering your expectations. If you read all this first, give it a try and you'll probably find you totally enjoy the episode.
Such is the power of lowered expectations and cookies :)
I just re watched the episode and i think i found my new favorite seen with the team. The Chinese food... Ryan was so funny and cute in it and did you notice the look between Beckett and Espo.
LOL @2:26 "Such is the power of lowered expectations and cookies" I love that!
speaking of lowered expectations, I think mine are definitely there after the last FEW episodes, not just 4x11. That being said, I want to tip my hat to Elena for the very gracious reply to those who are frustrated with the show (I am among them, btw). With that said, I'm going to tell you guys my plans for the remainder of the season. I'm going to Tivo every single episode until we near the finale and not watch it until the week before. That way, even at this glacial pace the storyline is moving (or not moving, depending on who you ask), I won't be frustrated because I can watch it all happen in a day. That is, if I can stay away from watching it live on Monday. But after yesterday's ep, I don't think that will be a problem :( Lowered expectations and all...
But, also this: there actually are (Season 2 not withstanding) a number of VERY good commentaries on the DVDs where AWM does *exactly* that. And several live tweetings of Episodes (as with he and Terri for Cuffed) where similar insights are shared. Knowing those things, those choices, can help viewers make reasonable hypotheses about what similar things might mean.
Unless you subscribe to the theory that the people running the show have made a dramatic left turn from previous, basically consistent statements, of course. But that sounds more like the pod people scenario than anything else has.
A favorite example? In the commentary for 3.1 at the scene where they find Castle at a murder scene for the second time, the statement is made, "She knows that the only reason he's there is because he loves her so much..."
Is it just me or Castle's smile seems fake? It's the first time ever I've noticed that it wasn't completly honest smile. (actully, not true, last time It was in 3x14... last scene,it got awkward then Kate said thank you and then he smiled... but idk it didn't feel it there too) :/
Anyway, I've read both side of you guys stories and I think... it's time for a big change. If Castle and Beckett continues like they way they do. I know for sure they are going to lose me, but I want to believe and have faith that things will change and they are gonna go back to the flirt and long silent staring look.
I want something BIG to happen...like Break-up or make up....just like 3x24.
All in all, a fun hour with the Castle crew! I thought the clever banter was back - between everyone! I got a real kick out of the "are you asking for my number" scene, and how it was resolved. I liked that KB, while speaking of Jenny's indiscretion, was clearly letting RC know that secrets are sometimes a good thing. I think KB is pretty confident that her "number" is higher than Castle's, and she isn't willing to hurt his feelings or sully his image of her (not that he remotely thinks that a woman that looks like KB could still be a virgin in any sense of the word). I think Rick is pretty sure that he's tangling with a real tiger here, (foreshadowing) and he surely doesn't want to get scared off before he even opens the cage. I see a more relaxed Kate, flipping around scenarios like "if we were getting married", without her usual hit of sarcasm or cutting Rick to pieces then shooting him one of her famous "looks". She also shot Rick several approving looks and smiles throughout the episode. She's looking at him - a lot. I liked her patient attention while he wove a complex theory involving spies, crazy motives, etc., and she makes that cute wrinkled nose face and says "nope, I don't have anything better". Our girl is definitely warming up to that man. I almost peed the sofa laughing at poor Ryan swallowing that vile cleansing juice while watching Javi chow down on doughnuts! I really loved the scene where he says "do you have to be such a cliche, stuffing your face with that, that...thing?" So hungry that he can't even say the word doughnut. I howled when he jumped on Javi and tried to snag the doughnut - LOL! The case itself was a little convoluted and a bit hard to follow with all of the funny relationship stuff woven into it, as it sometimes is with this show. I think we all knew we were going to have only a few minutes of actual wedding stuff at the very end - after all, Castle is primarily about the case. It had already been revealed in a preview that Alexis was going to bow out of being her dad's plus one, so we knew it would provide an opportunity for Kate and Rick to be together at the wedding as some version of a couple. I think Marlowe is a big tease, and I get him. He can torment us with this slow play and then - BAM said the lady - they're in a passionate lip lock or they have a huge fight and look like they might just call it quits. He has the power to do it and it is his story to tell. After all, relationships are not awesomesauce and double rainbows eveyday. I liked how Kate and Rick were obviously looking for each other inside the church, and she practically fell off those heels rushing over to him. She seemed pretty pleased that his daughter dumped him for Lady Gaga, and was quick to offer to up that they should be each other's plus one. Progress, I say. Then, the "third time's a charm" comment, and the sweet look in Rick's eyes. I think the relationship is moving along, maybe a little slowly for some, but it's only a television show! Marlowe loves to use the foreshadowing technique, so I really believe he is letting us know that Rick and Kate are one another's one and done. Overall, a fun episode. Nice posts at 9:34 and 2:11, Elena. Sorry I am so late posting - was out of internet range for a day - visiting relatives who have no internet service!
Yes, AWM does explain some stuff when he does commentary for DVDs, but that also doesn't happen on a weekly basis. It's cool when he or another writer (like Terri) Tweets live as episodes air, but that also doesn't happen on a regular basis nor does every scene/exchange get explained or analyzed. So, I'm not saying it's not interesting/helpful to get the scoop from the horse's mouth. What I mean is that we can't have that for every scene in every episode, you know, so much is left up to us to interpret and debate.
Good call about the DVD commentaries and live Tweeting, though. I always love when I can hear what the insiders have to say bc it most definitely sheds light on things. Plus, it's just fun to feel like you're getting to pick the writers' brains. :)
Maria, glad you enjoyed the episode so much! I did, too. :)
I knew some people would be disappointed but hey you can't please everyone. However I am glad to see there are some people here who enjoyed it as much as I did!!
To be honest the reason I walked away from the ABC boards was because when an episode did not work out the way people had made themselves believe it would be they would go on a rant and abuse AWM who DOES NOT DESERVE THAT! If you built yourself up under your own assumptions that something you did to yourself!
Sorry. I guess I get a little defensive. But honestly sometimes comments get a little personal and a little too agressive. I'm not saying that I've read anything of that nature here but I would hate to come across it because I love coming here
I just recently joined the fandom at the start of season four after catching up with all three seasons within a few weeks. Maybe watching the episodes consecutively helps, but from my perspective, the pace at which Caskett is moving this season is relatively the same as previous seasons. As much as I hate to admit this but this is a procedural show, and it's standard to have the show's main interest to be sidelined once in a while. In the first and second seasons, not much progress happened between them besides the banters and flirtings. If you look back, first season was mostly dead body, investigate, twists, banters exchange. Johanna Beckett case didn't even come into focus until the very end of season one. The season season was pretty much the same with a few exceptions (sucker punch, tick tick tick, and boom, and the appearance of Demming). In the third season format was pretty much the same until the season half of the season, an this was when I became a shipper. Season four actually has more character development as both realize their feeling for the other and Beckett is actually doing something to move their relationship forward-- putting her mother case in rest. As characters develope, The dynamics will change, including how they act when they are together. No more longing looks but they (moreso for Beckett) are more happy now knowing there is potential in their relationship. I suppose having to watch the episode week per week does make things seem to go longer, but to me season four pace is quite relative to the others. Just my two cents.
@Anon 4:23 - thanks for posting the tweet. That's just hilarious!
@Elena Don't misunderstand me, I agree completely! I was just saying that when we look episodes without that kind of writer feedback, we can draw upon the things the writers have told us as evidence in forming our own theories (to use the show parlance). So it's not all pulled out of the air at random. You know what I mean?
@1:17 And in all fun: This is a show about a detective and a writer. It's kinda natural that it might attract people who like to play detective with the writing. Plus it's fun like that. :)
"@1:17 And in all fun: This is a show about a detective and a writer. It's kinda natural that it might attract people who like to play detective with the writing. Plus it's fun like that. :)"
GB, I totally get what you meant! No worries! :) It's definitely important for writers and fans to interact to unravel some of those mysteries and head-scratchers. That's why I love watching those commentary episodes on the DVDs. I also love that Twitter has given us the ability to interact so instantaneously with people like AWM and Terri Edda Miller! It really enhances the viewing experience. I feel so much more personally involved with and connected to this show than any other show I've ever watched. Plus, it brings together people from all over the country/world to talk and exchange ideas. It really is amazing what social networking can do.
Anyway, I can't wait until the coming episodes. People are already freaking out about The Blue Butterfly and the kiss we're getting. Oy. Nothing like just enjoying an episode and having fun with it...
@1:17 And in all fun: This is a show about a detective and a writer. It's kinda natural that it might attract people who like to play detective with the writing. Plus it's fun like that. :)
I agree 100%! And, I am fed up with the boards @ ABC. There are a few who seem to rule over there and are the most negative posters - they really seem to set the pace for - WTF? - people who are supposed to be fans of Castle, but are the biggest haters. Love posting here, and hopefully will continue to do so! I'm being a little geeky now, but you guys seem to send out so much warm and fuzzy welcomes as opposed to the hater boards over at ABC. Thanks for allowing individual opinions here. I will continue to apply a fresh coat of varnish every day to that Caskett ship!
@anon 5:18 I totally agree! Over the summer, I was watching Bones on Netflix, just for a week or two. I was very frustrated with the show, and just found it boring. So, I started searching the internet for similar shows, and someone had mentioned Castle. At first, I was uniterested, but I did want to see that scene that seemed to be the only thing the Castle fanbase could talk about: Kate Beckett's shooting. I was instantly hooked. I had watched EVERY SINGLE EPISODE in about a month! I am completely happy with the pace of season 4. I keep remembering how I thought Caskett was ready for a relationship at the end of season 2, but then, after watching 3x13, I realise that they were nowhere near ready! And now, after Cops and Robbers, I look back to 3x24 thinking "How could I have though they could be in a successful relationship back then?". For those who have watched these episode over the course of three years, I think it has seemed longer than it really has been. Is the dynamic of the relationship changing? Yes. Season 1 brought us constant fighting and conflict, and we loved it! Season 2 blended together conflict and friendship, thus beginning the trust between RC and KB that we now see. Season 3 increased the sexual tension between the two, and still featured that banter that we all love so much, while introducing some real challenges for RC and KB, such as Johanna's case and strongly conflicting opinions (3x15,3x24). Season 3 also gave us a love confession, which is a BIG step! And now, in season 4, RC and KB have been forced RC and KB to face their problems. Rick has had to grow up and give Beckett some space, while Beckett has had to accept her inablility to be in a healthy relationship, and is in therepy to deal with that.
If that isn't progress, please enlighten me as to what is, as I have no clue.
Not sure if anyone's already mentioned this, BUT..... maybe AM wants the Beckett-Castle relationship to seem a bit friendly. I agree with all those who think the end scene was WAY too unsexy, but maybe AM and the team are using Beckett and Castle's lack of chemistry to expose the whole 'I love you' secret. Perhaps Castle's going to confront Beckett and ask her why she's avoiding the flirty banter that used to happen, or something. Not sure, but it's just a thought....
Can I just point out, discussion post... Best... idea... ever. Props to the contributors. I love our debating fandom, we're always on point. When I read these these posts I come away feeling like I've watch the episode multiple times and through completely opposite perspectives. I always learn something new and end up rushIng back to rewatch and check it out.
I must say that to start with I was disappointed with this show though I was more disappointed with the initial posts. Then I got to thinking about the episode, watched that ending multiple times and came back to make a post only to discover that the points I wanted to make about that ending were already made. The episode was much better than I first thought even before reading the later commentary here.
I will make one other point though, I think that who ever is deciding on the sneak peeks is undermining the show. I would have been much happier with this episode had I not seen the sneak peeks. With the exception of the final scene, I had already seen the major Beckett-Castle moments, Castle's talk about the fabulous plus 1 he was bringing (Alexis) and the Beckett-Castle "You are asking for my number" moment. Had I not seen those ahead of time I would have been much more stoked about this episode in my initial watch through. I have learned I am not a person who can see the major Beckett-Castle moments in sneak peeks and remain unsullied in my opinion of the show. For those of you who can, more power to you but I have sworn off sneak peeks!
I loved this episode. I thought that it had the perfect consistency of funny moments, serious moments, and most importantly, romance moments. The Jenny situation... serious yet funny yet intriguing. The way that Ryan is going on that cleanse with Jenny and how he finally gives into temptation... hilarious. The writing... as always. GENIUS! And of course, Beckett and Castle being each other's plus one... We were all hoping for this to happen. I would have liked to see how Castle would treat Alexis at the wedding, but I liked how Beckett finally asked him to be her plus one. She should have asked him earlier. Oh. And when Ryan lets it slip that Castle and Lanie are bringing a plus one, Beckett's and Esposito's face expressions are priceless. You can just see the jealousy rising in each of them. And once Castle finishes explaining Alexis with Beckett's worried facial expression, how he says "... It's Alexis." and Beckett's face just lights up the room; so cute. The episode was great, and there is nothing that I would change. Let me just send a shout out to the creators of Castle, the cast of Castle, and of course the crew of Castle. "THANK YOU FOR CREATING THIS EPICALLY GOOD TELEVISION SHOW THAT WE ALL LOOK FORWARD TO EVERY WEEK! Without you, Television would be suffering the loss of the talents of Andrew Marlowe and his team."
I was a little disappointed though at the end, because I really wanted to see more of the wedding, but I liked how Esposito and Lanie get back together. Or at least seem to. And when Beckett said "Maybe third time's the charm.", I'm just imagining what is going on in her head. In her head she is saying "Maybe if you and I get married it will actually work out." The show was too good, but too short. They had no choice but the cut out some good scenes.
Ah, first person to comment, cant wait till this ep starts!
ReplyDeleteTash
Oh man, I can't wait for this episode! Yay!! May there never be a hiatus again.
ReplyDeleteOnly hours now till we can see this episode well only a day for us unlucky people in the Uk then we can get it online I think that the month hiatus has actually gone really quick. But hopefully there won't be another hiatus until the end of the season when we get a ridiculously long hiatus lol
ReplyDeleteIn Italy we have to wait a day..a long long long long long long long day :(
ReplyDeleteHere in Switzerland, I have to wait another day too :-( Like everybody else I hope we won't have another hiatus until the end of season 4...
ReplyDeletesame here in Hungary. but hey, we survived the whole summer, 4 months (!), what's another day? :)
ReplyDeleteYeah... I hope I survive school tomorrow... I'm so excited! :)
ReplyDeleteGreetz from Germany
@pattycica.. You're right..we'll survive another day..and meanwhile i'll consumo this blog ahah
ReplyDelete@anonymous 3.54 am..i hope too! If this season was timeless it would be awesome!
Ps sorry for my english..i'm Italian :)
for everyone who is saying they have to wait another day...i watch Castle every week from this website: http://www.tv-links.eu/tv-shows/Castle_9161/ it will be up in about 8-9 hours!!!! cant wait!!! :)
ReplyDeletegoing to be a REALLY GOOD episode i can tell :) Ryan and Jenny are getting married everyone!!!! ;) haha so excited!!
Thanks for the link anon 7:17 the only reason I have to wait until tomorrow is coz it on in the US at like 9 or 10 so in the UK that's like some stupid time in the Morning when everyone's asleep lol
ReplyDeleteStill not aired and already 10 comments? You're too much...
ReplyDeleteI'm to wait one more day here in Spain.
My alarm will go off at five in the morning so I can watch this because I live in Germany... Don´t disappoint be dear writers ;)))
ReplyDeleteSOOOO EXCITEEED! :)))
Question for our foreign fandom friends: do you watch in your native language, or in English? Just curious! :))
ReplyDeleteI love this fandom.
MTAM
English of course :)First: I'm not a fan of dubbing, too much gets lost; second: you'd have to wait five month or something to get the episode in a different language.
ReplyDeleteI watch Castle at midnight in Argentina... only 10 hours until the wedding!!!
ReplyDelete(I'm anon January 9, 2012 8:57 AM)I always watch in English. The Spanish one is OK though. It's just that I got used to watch everything in original version, English mainly. It's OK, I'm used to switch four languages for work every day.
ReplyDeleteEnglish of course..here in Italy, usually we have to wait March but this year Castle's season premiere was aired in October..and this is very good!only the most successfull american tv series are aired simultaneously with USA (grey's anatomy,pp,desperate housewives) :D
ReplyDeleteBtw i prefer original dialogue( sometimes they are modified) and original voices..but i love nathan's italian voice..it's weird ahahah
Ps sorry for my bad english..but thanks to this blog i improved it a lot :)
English of course!!! So much better than the German version :)
ReplyDeleteWow so cool~!!! Had no idea Castle was shown in so many different countries. we Castle fans rock. Hello to all of u in other countries. Im in Canada so no wait time but I feel for all of u who have to wait.
ReplyDeletei watch in English too. i tried once in Hungarian, but the dubbing was terrible
ReplyDelete@Lorie - thanks for the feeling-with-us ;) I started watching in German, the latest ones in English and now I'm in France for a year and watch Castle in French sometimes, it's hilarious!
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZ0a9RDpMaw
If the link works for you, then you can watch a bit "Castle-French" :)
Here in Portugal we see Castle and all the TV show and movies (except animation) with the original voices and subtitles of course, we (portuguese people) prefer that way :)
ReplyDeleteNew Castle tonight oh yeah!!!!
Anon 11:04: I'm portuguese too :)
ReplyDeleteE é óptimo podermos ver as versões originais de praticamente tudo :D
I'll watch this episode the first time on livestream 4pm in the morning here in germany, I regret nothing^^
ReplyDeleteIn Belgium they subtitle everything, except for the children's programs. And that's how I like it best! When I buy dvds, I even put on English subtitles, just to make sure I hear every word they say correctly. The original dialog often has so much subtext, I don't want to miss that in a translation!
ReplyDelete(I'm anon8:57and 9:46 again)
Hello, Portuguese neighbors. In Spain, for historical and political reasons, we have a long tradition of translation and dubbing. The dubbing of films and series are outstanding and that's great for most, as not everybody has had the opportunity to learn foreign languages. My poor father wouldn't be able to see his favorite series. However, since we have the opportunity to receive the original version (on TV or online), this is always my choice.
@ Mandy: Where do u watch it in livestream???
ReplyDeleteVic
Hi. I'm from Barcelona, Catalonia. Here we watch the show tomorrow morning, Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your contributions. The blog is fantastic.
See you soon
@Vic: I'll watch it here: http://www.stream2watch.me/live-tv/abc-live-stream
ReplyDeletebut I don't know if it'll work, cause it's my first time there^^
WOW!I am from Serbia, and I AM IN SHOCK!HOW MANY FANS FROM HOW MANY COUNTRIES?!?!?!?!?!?!
ReplyDeletewait...Castle's fans are from:America,Canada,Mexico,Argentina,Brazil,UK, Italy,France,Spain,Portugal,Belgium,Germany ,

So,cheers my fellow Castle fans!
Hello, in France season 3 episode 22 is on tv right now, in french. In my opinion english voices are way better! Can't wait until tomorrow for episode 4.11! love you all castle fans!
ReplyDeleteclaire from france
ps: sorry for my english :)
@Mandy: thank u so much!!! I'm from Germany too ;)
ReplyDeleteVic
@anon 12.01 pm here in Italy we have a long tradition of translation and dubbing too. Our dubbers are great (translation mmm), i mean beautiful voices but always those voices. Stana, cote the pablo and teri hatcher have the same voices...and Nathan and brian austin green too ahahah
ReplyDeleteBtw i always choose original version..and after i re-watch dubbed :) i could almost dubb a third time ahahah
hey claire, i am watching right now on French TV as well :D (and try to understand...i'm still learning French)
ReplyDeleteano 12:21PM : good luck learning french! me i try to improove my english watching castle and i love this method!
ReplyDeleteano 12:01PM: in france too sometimes they use the same voice for different people. that's strange.
claire
I'm from the UK but I've listened to it in a different language before just to see what it was like. Have to say English is defintly the best to listen to it in coz sometimes with different languages u can't tell the difference with some of the voices and coz it's in a different language the voice doesn't match the way that the actors Are speaking so it's kinda weird to watch.
ReplyDeleteAnyone else is nervous about the ratings for tonight's episode? Seeing the somewhat disappointing numbers for repeats in the past weeks with the lack of promotion by ABC and a rating soft Bachelor as a lead-in, I'm kinda biting my nails for it. Hawaii 5-0 is on repeat, so more pressure is built on beating that show for the #1 spot tonight. I hope people remembers to watch tonight!!
ReplyDelete@anon 12.40 pm..you're right!in Italian there isn't the "th" sound like in English or American English and sometimes when you see actor's mouth moves it's really weird..for example our dubber pronounce Martha in Italian...Marta and it's weird if you always watch Castle in original version :)
ReplyDeleteJust to fix the comment geographically, I want to remember everybody that Catalonia is in Spain.
ReplyDeleteWOOOO!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe show is pre-empted in the Boston area for New Hampshire primary coverage - it won't be aired until 1 AM Tuesday morning! Argh! LOL
ReplyDeleteI love how there are already over 40 comments about where people are and what time they can watch it and stuff love how there are so many castle fans all over the world that watch it a lot of the comments aren't even related to the actual episode lol can't wait for it to air gonna be awesome
ReplyDeleteI can watch it only on 5Am at the morning before I go to school..... ... the wait is killing me!
ReplyDeleteAll the way from israel ~~~~
You can't forget all of us down here in Australia, waking up to Castle Day!!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy all!
I absolutely can't wait for tonight! It's gonna be amazing!:)
ReplyDelete-Sam
Checking.in from.Jakarta, where I download it on I tunes every Tuesday afternoon :)
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately for me, I won't get to see it for at least a week more. But that's okay, because I'm catching up on the previous season 4 episodes :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous fandom this is! I think I'm in love.
ReplyDeletehappy castle day!
ReplyDeletehi lorie, in france we can see it online but it is not uploaded until 4AM (it cooresponds to 10PM for US and Canada). The US and canadian websites are locked in france that's why we have to wait.
ReplyDeleteclaire
I could watch it online, but I prefer to wait. Adds to the suspense, I guess.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if SA gets the episodes at the same time as the US (within the same day, anyway), but where I live we don't.
Why wait until until it airs online, when you can download it 1-2 hours before the show? I'm just sayin'!
ReplyDeleteAnyway I'm still gonna watch it LIVE for the ratings! :D
How's hoping for a slow dance? Do you think it will happen?
Yer in the UK u got to wait till like 4am or something so that it is the same time as it airs in the US so for me anyway it's easier to wait till the afternoon to download it even though it wild be so much better if it aired all over the world at the same time so we could all watch it at the same time lol
ReplyDeleteOoh, that would be fun! Ginormous Castle party :D
ReplyDeleteIt's anon 3:06 again lol Clair that wuld be pretty awesome lol but then at least everyone wuld know what happened in the ep at the same time lol
ReplyDeleteHello,Castle Day is finally here!!! Saludos, desde Mexico!
ReplyDeleteYou can download the episode now !!!! i just found it on eztv !
ReplyDeleteI'm sad that they didn't dance, but it's ok... them walking down the aisle together was cute. "Who knows Castle, maybe 3rd time is a charm?" :D
ReplyDeleteDid you guys enjoyed the episode? I did!
40 minutes. I. AM. DYING.
ReplyDeleteDid you just completely spoiled us? Thanks..
ReplyDeleteYeah, wow. Could've kept it to yourself since most of us haven't seen the episode yet.
ReplyDelete35 minutes. Just finished my essay so looking forward to some Castle relaxation :)
FINALLY!!!! Castle is back!!!!
ReplyDeleteHow about you keep your mouth shut? Specially when you know it hasn't even aired. I guess it was just for the sake of being an "ice hole", well you got it.
ReplyDeleteI know the episode airs soon, but here's the link I just used below. Very high quality, and comercial free!
ReplyDeletehttp://www.sockshare.com/file/699D68385F03450A
Unfortunetly, some moments have already been spoiled, and though I don't wish to spoil any other events, I would like to reccomend to everyone that they watch the episode anyways, as it was a very funny episode! I think almost everyone will be pleased!
You can't really blame anon at 6:17, it IS a discussion post. Talking about the episode is sort of the point. Great ep :)
ReplyDeleteI wasnt lovin it. Some funny moments but lacking in an interesting story line and comedy. I was bored! I miss the banter. I almost liked it better when Castle annoyed her or she pretended he annoyed her. Im sure its just me. I LOVED this show but i find more episodes r boring me.
ReplyDeleteOk just watched it...great episode...some really fun moments, some not so interesting moments...
ReplyDeleteIm on the fence with this episode...
Lets go with the stuff I liked first...
1)Funny storyline...
2)Loved loved loved Ryan going crazy...
3)Esposito losing it was cute too...im sure esplanie will be together again soon...
4)
Stuff I was a little dissapointed about
1)I didnt really see the foreshadowing of castle and becketts future...unless all AM meant was seeing them walking down the aisle...hhmmm
2)Seamus mentioned in a few interviews, that Castle, beckett and Esposito will be thinking about their plus ones and what to do.
ReplyDeleteThe storyline was cute, Ryan and Esposito were hilarious, but honestly thats all I remeber from this episode. Dont remember anything about Castle and Beckett, which is sooooo weird!
The wedding scene at the end did nothign for me. And I love weddings, but I didnt see the "love" so to speak. Ah hope next weeks is better.
Fun episode. Thats all I can say, wish I could say more about it, but it was just going on average for me...the Nikki Heat episode was way better.
ReplyDeleteI knew they wouldnt dance!!! Damn it. Really wanted that but I know the writers wont let us have it.
ReplyDeletePlease AM, move this along. I love your show but goodness this snail pace movement is killing me!
Esposito and Ryan were fantastic. And yes, i agree with Beckett, Ryan is the only real man there...hehe
I don't watch the episode yet, but don't tell me that do not like guys. :/ ¿is boring? ¿really?
ReplyDeleteIs it just me, or is the chemistry between RC and KB like seriously lacking? That last scene should have given me butterflies, but NO it didnt. Ad yeah I agree with anothe comment, where the meanigful glances? Can someone please point it out to me, becasue I sure didnt see it.
ReplyDeleteI loved Ryan and Esposito in this episode, and I must say Espo looked so good in his suit, cant believe this but he looked better than our ruggedly handsome writer.
ReplyDeleteNot quite as good as Kill Shot, Rise, and Cops and Robbers, but I loved it just as much as Demons and Cuffed (which I think are just as good as Nikki Heat and To Love and Die in LA)!
ReplyDeleteThird time's the charm.. hahaha... with beckett hahahaha
ReplyDeleteCute episode that has some lol moments for me. But it did not live up to "Nikki Heat" episode I adore so much. But I gotta love how they handled Ryan reaction to the book :). Okay one couple down, two more to go. Make it happen they this season's end, Marlowe. I have faith in you.
ReplyDeleteReally guys? The whole third times the charm? Walking down the aisle? The numbers conversation? Beckett crumbling on hearing that Castle had a "date?" and you don't see the "love" in this one? Wow...
ReplyDeleteYeah that's all, just wow...
I enjoyed it, anyway.
I hate to say it but the episode was kind of dry...
ReplyDelete1.) There were NO meaningful glances
ReplyDeleteKH
ReplyDeleteJust thought I would throw my two cents in here.
ReplyDeleteI really did enjoy the episode, cute, a few LOL moments, # conversations couldn't dissapoint anyone I don't think, the most meaningful glance I saw was when Castle noticed that the ID was gov't issued (however, non wedding related).
ReplyDeleteThe story was just average to me, nothing great, but my biggest disappoint, ent was the last part.
@GB
ReplyDeleteI totally agree!
ReplyDeleteFor the first time I am feeling like the fans are being strung along.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, what meaningful glance?
God all that promotion was for this? Seriously? The episode didn't live up to the interviews and hype that was built up.
ReplyDeleteI have nothing nice to say except that Ryan was so funny in this one. Loved the way he jumped on espo.
I would've liked to see a longer wedding scene but I did enjoy the episode and all the Caskett cuteness. :)
ReplyDeleteAnon 9:45 AM: OMG So do I! It's so nice to find another Argentine fan! ^^ My twitter account: @rmflorencia
anon 8:26.. Actually there was the high five scene tonight.
ReplyDeleteIt was a good episode, but I was disappointed because I thought the wedding would have been so much more...
ReplyDeleteThe last scene was just too dull for me. What meaningful glance, what huge budget, what designer dress...didn't really get to see anything did we. Ok I will stop complaining now.
ending was so dumb
ReplyDeleteThe episode was Ryan's episode, for sure...I loved him in this and esposito too. Loved Ryan's facial expressions throughout, when looking at that doughnut, I was laughing. That was funny.
ReplyDeleteOk now for my criticism, first of all the promotion and advertising for this episode was crazy, so many interviews about the wedding, the dress, the reflections for castle and Beckett and their future, that this is something they could have.
ReplyDeleteMeaningful glances, several meaningful glances was what was to be expected.
ReplyDeletethere've been some okay moments this season but overall, i'd say something is definitely off this year. could it be the absence of reuben santiago has messed with staff chemistry and the writing? i don't know what it is, but i'm beginning to worry. i don't think this production team could afford the miss they had tonight, especially after such a substantial break in first-run eps. jmho.
I wonder if the cast filmed a lot more - as always, to allow room for editors to make it run within the alloted time - but the vows and glances were cut, without Seamus knowing?
ReplyDeleteI'm going to investigate Twitter to see what @seamusdever may have said during the last scene...
Spoilers PLUS hype, eh? Not always a good combo!
Kh
I have a love hate relationship with this episode. I loved Ryan, and hated everything else. There I said it. My first ever bad review of this show.
ReplyDeleteMy fault I expected so much more, now we know not to take these interviews seriously.
At anon 8.44, I totally agree. Something isn't right Witt the writing this season. Are most of the writers new. Seems like andrew Marlowe and Terri miller need to take over the writing and out castle and Beckett back on that sexual tension romantic track.
ReplyDeleteJust watched and was wondering if I missed like huge chunk because whatever I read in interviews didn't pan out. Meaningful glances, huge budgets, reflections, foreshadowing. Uh where was that exactly?
This was a bad episode to start of the year. It was funny yes, but on relationship aspect, it was so so mundane. Definitely didn't live up to all the hype for this episode.
ReplyDeleteWell the only good thing is Ryan's married.
ReplyDeleteOh, and if Esposito called Ryan "bro" one more time in this episode, I was gonna leap up and smack him through the tv.
What kind of ending was that! Beckett doesnt even look at him and share a menaigful look or glance. I feel like pullig my hair out.
ReplyDeleteYou know all they had to do was have beckett and castle sharing meanigful glnaces or shy looks and that would have made a world of difference.
ReplyDeleteI love Castle, I love these fun episodes, but these were the things I expected back in the second season.
ReplyDeleteAll in all "Till Death Do Us Part" kept me interested, made me laugh, gave some not many cute Castle and Beckett moments, and aside from needing a better ending I liked this episode.
Ok im going to be harsh, for an episode i thought would be right up there with cuffed, it is one of the worst this season. I dont know what went wrong. I wasnt feeling it. sorry.
ReplyDeleteI must be dreaming, but I did not see menaigful glances as per what seamus said would happen.
ReplyDeleteThe Esplaine thing the whole way through was cute, and Jenny and Ryan are just made for being a couple.
ReplyDeleteThe problem with the promotions and interviews done is that they give fans false expectations.
ReplyDeleteWell at least we got a "moment" at the end.
ReplyDeleteI think the problem is we all tend to forget this show isn't just about watching the progression, (slow it may be) of Castle and Beckett.
ReplyDeleteOverall I have to say, was surprisingly disappointed and a little frustrated with this episode.
ReplyDeleteCome to the dark side, my friends. Accept that the heat is gone. It was snuffed out on the swing set in Rise, and has been replaced by fear of rejection, tip-toeing around perceived boundaries, and the one thing we all watch TV to get away from: routine. Their relationship is nothing if not routine.
ReplyDeleteThe "sword play between a man and a woman" that Stana used to like to reference in Season 1 and 2 interviews is g-o-n-e.
Join the Dark Side. We have cookies. >:-D
She-ra I want some of those cookies, I don't know what to think about this episode, are they afraid we are gonna stop watching if they get together? there is no need to worry, we are stopping to watch right now!
ReplyDeleteSorry for the bad English, My Spanish is better
So stay or go
ReplyDeleteHahaha she-ra, but you are right, that sword play and sexy banter is gone. And the writers are stringin it along now. It's not consistent, I feel the heat in one episode then the next five nothing, then one again, then the next five nothing. You're right it's coming to a point where I am starting to feel like its not worth it anymore. But what will I watch on Monday nights then? What else is on?
ReplyDeleteYeah the dog thing is kind of lame, everyone knows, including Kate and she has commented on his fatherly skills one more than one occasion, that he is in fact a good father and has mgiven Alexis everything she needed.
Let's see.
ReplyDeleteAs for this episode, the reason why lots of fans including myself is disappointed is because certain things were mentioned specifically in interviews which didn't happen.
Wow cute episode but that ending...splat! Nothing! Lame!
ReplyDeleteShe-ra, you definitely said it. Hand me the cookies ;)
ReplyDeleteAnd Brit, I really like the fact that you still believe in the show, that's good, because it lives from its loyal fans.
ReplyDelete@Anon 11:18 and 11:31
ReplyDeleteOh, the cookies we have--all chocolate based so that we may be slightly sated as we watch. And the rule is that every time you WISH one of them would make a move or send a signal, you have to take a bite :)
I just made that rule up, but I like it.
Some cookies to choose from include:
Rocky Road (for the rough eps)
Ginger Chocolate Chip (for when you're missing the fire)
Peanut-Butter Chocolate Bliss (for when you need to sin vicariously FOR Caskett)
Make Some Whoopie Pies (think homemade, poofy Oreos, and these are for moments of rare decadence--when one of them actually does move an inch)
White-Chocolate Gems (for when you're waiting for a TRULY chocolate moment)
I could go on, but I think you've got the point :)
Brit, you are not the only one who liked it, I did too but I must say I was annoyed with the last part. Could have been so much better. I liked the funny moments, the story, the episode is general until that last part. That sucked...really sucked.
ReplyDeleteOh, and @Anon 11:48, too!
ReplyDeleteCookies for all!!
Ahhh thanks she-ra, I'd like to place an order for a tub of ginger chocolate chips, because I'm so missing the fire now days...makes me sad. Btw, I'm in Malaysia, do you do international deliveries!!! Hehe...
ReplyDelete@anon11:44 and anon11:57 haha I'm not that positive. And I appreciate u both for watching out for me
ReplyDeleteI liked the episode, but come on, that end scene totally put a damper on everything. Yes agree the eye sex should have been played up a
ReplyDeleteLittle.
@Anon 11:59 Hmm. Maybe I don't deliver, but you if you're feeling adventurous, you can try the recipe :)

ReplyDeleteIt was a great episode. Seamus and Jon shine, Espo's jealousy was cute and Ryan is really starting to shine as he's starting to be the one who solves the cases lately. I'm likely the Ryan/Espo dynamic as they are really coming into their own as a duo, rivaling Castle and Beckett.
ReplyDeleteStana seemed too muted in her expression.
ReplyDeleteI've always defended AM but I'm starting to think that their little dance is getting just a tad bit slow and boring.
ReplyDeleteAbout 30 or 40 years ago there was an ad on tv for a fast food restaurant, the lady said where's the beef? In the case of Castle, we could ask where is the heat? I certainly didn't feel it during this episode.
@12:22
ReplyDeleteDesperate times... desperate measures. That's all I have to say.
May the day come when the lure of cookies holds no sway.
Until then? Enjoy the Dark Side >:-D
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen the episode yet only clips of it but from wat I've seen it looks really good all of the characters had there fun moments especially wen espo jumped on ryan and I don't get wat was so bad about the ending yer the wedding could have been longer but the Convo between espo and laine was good and the little bit with castle and Beckett was good. I think it was a good way to start the second part of the season with a light fun episode and look forward to the rest of the season.
I get everyone's got there own opinion but this is just mine.
Yes, Lawrence, one of your favorite parts of the show centered around a character drinking lime juice.
ReplyDeleteIf that's not a sign, I don't know what is. I'll join your chant:
"Where's the HEAT?"
*holds out plate* Cookie?
(And P.S., Those Wendy's commercials are not that old, because I'm not that old! I swear. I'm putting them at 25 years ago and sticking to it! :)
Where's the HEAT?
ReplyDeleteKudos to Lawrence for giving us a rallying cry.
Where's the Beef? is from 1984. So 28 years; sorry She-ra you're that old. at least it's not 30 years old ? Right?
ReplyDeleteThe episode was funny, I liked Ryan's attack on the food. I think the storyline was good. But I do question where the meaningful glances were? I don't think I saw any. Disappointed with that. Didn't see any reflections either so i wonder why it was mentioned in interviews. I hate thinking that they deliberately lied to the fans.
ReplyDeleteI also didn't see foreshadowing.
ReplyDeleteAnd I also like the way Castle is growing up showing Kate that he is a guy she can trust, and he is given her that space that she asked for in the first episode in this season. So i hadn´t set my self up to a kiss or a hug in this episode because i like the slow dance they are doing....
I am looking forward to next monday :-))
Jane from Denmark
At Lawrence, I totally agree. He didn't even compliment her. To me that was really dumb. I takes 3 seconds to say, you look stunning. For a guy who is suppose to be in love, the least he could have done was compliment the woman he is in love with. Im not feeling the heat or the love. Yes they care a lot about each other but love? Man I really don't know. I'm not really seeing it anymore.
ReplyDeleteLike I said a simple you look stunning and a gaze at her would have done the trick. This episode could have been great but it was just mediocre.
Thanks Jane :)next weeks ep should be interesting
ReplyDeletejust 2 minutes for the wedding ceremony???? COME ON!There should have been a dance or at least something...gah..i don't know! it just ended way too fast!!! on the other hand, totally loved this episode(especially Ryan's food obsession along with Esposito's +1 one) way to go Castle :D.
ReplyDeleteP.S.: i really loved the fact that Beckett made the first step this time and the "3rd time's a charm" thing(it's becoming clearer by the episode that she's starting to open up to him more and more... i just hope for a real caskett anytime soon...:D)
Shera I think we are all a little older than we like to admit especially since we are fan girling all the time. My husband always laughs at me, tells me to stop acting like I'm 16... , and yes if the lime juice drinking scene was the highlight then we're in trouble.
ReplyDeleteI can only wish upon a star, that next weeks is a whole lot better.
What was with the end? Oh boy no wonder there are so many post here.
ReplyDeleteCastle, you couldn't spare a compliment? The whole scene was so rushed. It honestly felt so fake.
As in the words of Alexis in cops and robbers...
ReplyDeleteI can't just cross my fingers, hold my breath and wish upon a star that something big is going to happen with castle and Beckett.
ReplyDeleteCastle teasing Beckett about his plus one, Beckett being big sister Kate when Esposito and Ryan fight.
To finish, I trust AM and I love this show and I'll still be tuning in every Monday night to see what they come up with next.
anon 1:51 i agree with everything u said lol
ReplyDeleteThe episode was about ryan and jenny so i think if beckett and castle had loads of cute moments and eye sex etc going on i think it would have taken the focus off the point that it was suppose to focus on ryan and jenny and there wedding. there will be an episode where there are lodz of caskett moments but considering its the first episode after the hiatus i think people need to give it a chance and enjoy the fact that its back on every week and enjoy what AM has in store for us
I was expecting a Castle and Beckett dance! :( But seeing them go together is fine :D
ReplyDeleteOh i totaly agree white you Sarah and anon 1:51 :-)))
ReplyDeleteJane from Denmark
@Sarah and Jane
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
(AKA anon 1:51)
i must say this episode has been a huge disappintment. i expected a big wedding ceremony and not just 2 stupid minutes!! come on AM! that is messed up and totally wrong! but i did enjoy the part about castle and beckett talking about their "numbers"... :D
ReplyDeleteAM said in an interview (in the last couple of weeks), that they had already shown a wedding scene (in season 2), that they didn't want to repeat that.
ReplyDeleteThat this episode was about things leading up to the wedding, than the wedding itself.
ReplyDeleteIs it me or Castle is against marriage institution? I noticed this with his comments.
ReplyDeleteAhh Tim, voice of reason. I mean no offence, i love all castle fans darkside cookie seduced or not. but was the number banter in the middle there not good enough?
ReplyDeleteOUR CHARACTERS ARE GROWING!
ReplyDeleteIn funny department they something missed. So far from this season for me only Demons was really good where almost every scene was hilarious. They missed opportunities in Eye of the beholder, Cuffed and now in Till Death Do Us Part, they just wasting potential here.
Brit, Im anon 11.44...you wanted to know why I think what I think...
ReplyDeleteAs i said i just feel that them gettign together will be something AM will see as easy, and we know how he likes to make things complicated.
So cute. And Espo going nuts with plus 1 issues. funny.
ReplyDeleteWhat I didnt love?
1) NO MORE OTHER LOVE INTERETS
2) CHEMISTRY, SIZZLE, EYE SEX ETC...
and right now no. 2 is seriously lacking! If AM isnt careful, they are going to start looking like brother and sister soon.
sorry just my thoughts.
I have to say that this season is losing me. Last night was pretty dull. The chemistry between Beckett and Castle seems to be losing its heat. I sure hope that they can get back to some of the greatness of last season. I don't look forward to Monday nights like I used to.
ReplyDeleteBrit, Sarah, Jane, Tim, Will, Obsessed -- Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThis episode goes on my favorites list.
ReplyDeleteYeah, tonight was a little bit lacking at the end, it was all very "cute" and whats wrong with cute?
ReplyDeleteEven Killshot which wasnt shippery episode was a lot better and deeper than last two which should be kinda shippery(?)
Maybe Alexi Hawley should write more Castle epis?
I liked the episode and found myself laughing numerous times. As for Caskett, just like always its all about reading between the lines or the subtext.
ReplyDelete1) The numbers talk: Beckett says, "for the sake of the relationship"; she's using this as an explanation to not share Jenny's past with Ryan or her past with Castle.
Have you noticed Castle talk about black widow spider? I know he threatened Ryan but maybe that was parallel to his marriages?
ReplyDeleteI loved this episode!!
ReplyDelete@anon6:00am I understand where ur coming from.
ReplyDelete@kelly,tim, obssesed, Sarah, will, and others thak u all for having my back.
ReplyDeleteIt was a delight watching Beckett watch Castle.
~Elena
Thank u Elena I'm glad u see my point. And that u also look forward to the season. I enjoy ur coments, and did u almost die laughing at the donut attack moment? Lol classic:)
ReplyDelete2x11: Beckett: On one knee? What’s up Castle? Are you proposing?
ReplyDeleteCastle: No, just waiting for you.
3x11: Castle: Will you marry me? (pulls out Ryan’s ring)
4x11: Castle: Shall we?
Beckett: Yeah (Both walk down the aisle)
DOES THIS MEAN THAT 5x11 is the real thing?
MS from Portugal.... Thats so cool how you noticed that good job !!
ReplyDeleteI would love , love ,love it if Caskett actually got married in 5x11 !
ReplyDeleteI feel strung along, more than usual with this episode which did not deliver all of the expectations in the hype.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was witty, smart and joyful.
@MS from Portugal...nice catch!
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking 5X11 Rick proposes to Kate
On 6X11 they get married :)
BTW Castle was tops in the overnight ratings last night :)
ReplyDeleteSo shall i have the word??? But read it first ALLL PLEASE!!!
ReplyDeleteSo the ending was disappointing UNTILLLLL Tim in Rome (Thank you bro - Espo would say :D) illuminated me that AWM sad that the wedding was done before ant that this ep would be more about the preparation.
P.S. Sorry for making it soo long winded :D
Just my 2 euros
Thank you anon 11:56 and 11:48 you said it all. /and all the other positive writers :)
ReplyDeleteThis was a really good episode...
Im glad you liked it (Hope that also the other fans from the dark side will see this and realize that the love is still there and the ep it wasnt disappointing just because there wastn the dance and the whole ceremony) :D
ReplyDeleteI try as much as possible to watch on things from different aspects (and to be objective - subjective :p) and i hope i did it properly.
Now i have made 4 euros in total ;P
I loved this episode. It was one of the typically good Castle episodes that I think we were missing so far this year. It was witty, very funny and great plot. I'm not a shipper or anything and I just plain enjoyed it from beginning to end.
ReplyDeleteDon't know what the rest of you were watching.
ReplyDeleteSeeing the wedding and a dance would have been cheesy [and it's been done before] I think A.M had just the right mix of everything in the episode.
ReplyDeleteAs much as the Castle apologists want to pretend to be in the character's heads (She said such and such because she was opening up to him emotionally and he said blah blah because he wanted to show his maturity...) unless you have a mind-reading device, you are not the official voice of the characters.
/rant
@anon 1:17pm You can't be swayed by others opinions. How can you make assumptions based on something you haven't even seen?
ReplyDeleteNot to mention us "apologists" don't pretend to be in the characters mind, what we do is analyse the situation from both interviews with Marlowe, cause many of them do offer explanations AND we actually watch the episode.
When Kate says "I can't have the kind of relationship I want till that wall comes down". You don't have to be a mind reader to get it.
I'm not, but I don't know about you I'd love to be psychic.
Anonymous 1:17:
ReplyDeleteNo one here is claiming to be a mind-reader or the official voice of the show.

ReplyDeleteBest rant of the day. Totally :)
ReplyDeleteLOL @2:26 "Such is the power of lowered expectations and cookies" I love that!
ReplyDeletespeaking of lowered expectations, I think mine are definitely there after the last FEW episodes, not just 4x11.
Elena, very good points.
ReplyDeleteBut, also this: there actually are (Season 2 not withstanding) a number of VERY good commentaries on the DVDs where AWM does *exactly* that.
(actully, not true, last time It was in 3x14... last scene,it got awkward then Kate said thank you and then he smiled... but idk it didn't feel it there too) :/
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I've read both side of you guys stories and I think... it's time for a big change.
If Castle and Beckett continues like they way they do. I know for sure they are going to lose me, but I want to believe and have faith that things will change and they are gonna go back to the flirt and long silent staring look.
I want something BIG to happen...like
Break-up or make up....just like 3x24.

All in all, a fun hour with the Castle crew!
ReplyDeleteI thought the clever banter was back - between everyone!

GB,
ReplyDeleteYes, AWM does explain some stuff when he does commentary for DVDs, but that also doesn't happen on a weekly basis.
I did, too. :)
~Elena
I LOVED IT!!!
ReplyDeleteI knew some people would be disappointed but hey you can't please everyone.
I'm not saying that I've read anything of that nature here but I would hate to come across it because I love coming here
Looking forward to next week
...should prob get back to work lol
@Maria you're right "...inside the church, and she practically fell off those heels rushing over to him" LOL

"Ryan's wedding was outstanding. And who knew Beckett could slam Amaretto and freestyle rap?"
ReplyDelete@Anon 4:23 - thanks for posting the tweet. That's just hilarious!
ReplyDelete@Elena Don't misunderstand me, I agree completely!

ReplyDeleteAmen :)
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I can't wait until the coming episodes. People are already freaking out about The Blue Butterfly and the kiss we're getting. Oy. Nothing like just enjoying an episode and having fun with it...
~Elena :)
Oh yeah, also:

Good call, GB. Well said!

ReplyDeleteI agree 100%!
Keep on rockin' the boat, friends!

@anon 5:18
ReplyDeleteI totally agree!
ReplyDeleteCan I just point out, discussion post...
ReplyDeleteBest... idea... ever. Props to the contributors.
I love our debating fandom, we're always on point. When I read these these posts I come away feeling like I've watch the episode multiple times and through completely opposite perspectives. I always learn something new and end up rushIng back to rewatch and check it out.
"Like"
DeleteI must say that to start with I was disappointed with this show though I was more disappointed with the initial posts. Then I got to thinking about the episode, watched that ending multiple times and came back to make a post only to discover that the points I wanted to make about that ending were already made. The episode was much better than I first thought even before reading the later commentary here.
ReplyDeleteI will make one other point though, I think that who ever is deciding on the sneak peeks is undermining the show.
ReplyDeleteI was a little disappointed though at the end, because I really wanted to see more of the wedding, but I liked how Esposito and Lanie get back together. Or at least seem to. And when Beckett said "Maybe third time's the charm.", I'm just imagining what is going on in her head. In her head she is saying "Maybe if you and I get married it will actually work out." The show was too good, but too short. They had no choice but the cut out some good scenes.
