If I didn’t know that a very fun Halloween episode and a superhero-themed episode were coming up, I’d probably be thinking we were in for the darkest season yet based on the premiere. But since I do know those are on the way, I feel a little better saying perhaps the deep issues that will be dealt with will be scattered throughout the season as they have been in the past. That said, prepare for some not-necessarily-love-related issues to make your heart ache. Particularly one scene that shows a side of someone we’ve never seen before.
I don’t really have a question, just anything your “willing” to share that doesn’t “spoil” anything. — @BecaGreenfield
You’re going to get a lot for a non-question: The park scene everyone has been all excited about? It’s as deep and as good as we all imagined…but not for the reason you might be thinking.
When will we find out what Montgomery put in that envelope during the s3 finale and who he mailed it to? — @lkanoczzz
First episode. But it definitely opens up some more questions in the process.

Ok I was thinking the park scene is about them apologizing to each other and Beckett talking about her past 3 months in recovery. They look awkward with each other so I didn't expect anything big to be discussed there. Could I be wrong or are others thinking something completely different.
ReplyDeleteI think what some folks think is that Beckett will confess her feelings, and that is what the writer of this blog meant when she said it's not what you think it is...
ReplyDeleteIt's possible they talk about how to get him back into the precint because we know he was kicked out. I think it could also be aboue her mothers murder and how she wants to keep investigating.
I hate to say this but I think the park scene is going to be a sad one which will annoy the he'll out of us. Maybe she tells him she can't think about a relationship or anything of the sort until she solves her mothers murder. It could also very well be about the files sent. That's why they look sombre and upset.
ReplyDeleteHhhhmmmm I'm a little nervous about the premier. Everything I've read about it shows disappointment and being upset and scared and worried and anger and sadness. I know AM will wait a while befor getting them together but I was hoping for some sign that they will grow at least. But it's hard to grow a relationship when they are surrounded with sadness and anger, guilt etc...
ReplyDeleteMaybe the park scene isn't even real. Could it be something out of Beckett's subconscious (like a dream)?
ReplyDelete@Anon 10:28- They should totally do that.. It would be awesome to at least see them together in a dream (preferably Beckett's, so she can realize her feelings for Castle) even if they don't get together in the show soon.
ReplyDeleteI don't think it's a dream!
ReplyDeleteI think the park scene is the first time they meet after the 3 months..
Maybe beckett apologizing fot not calling him!
Yeah its not a dream. They are seeing each other after their 3 month break, which I think is dumb. I love the show but some things are just soo annoying. How could he leave her to recuperate for 3 months without even seeing her. And even if it was her idea, castle has always bulldozed his way into her life anyway, so why stop now.
ReplyDeleteI was looking forward to the park scene but after reading the blog above, I dont know what to imagine. It said its not what we might be thinking, well I was thinking that maybe just maybe they tell each other how much they need one another in their lives and they are not ready to jump into a relationship so they wait. But now I could be wrong. From their facial expressions in the scene, it is something sad for sure, I already feel dissapointed and I havent watched it yet.
Well it is said we will see a side of a character we have never seen before. Maybe Beckett will tell castle why she is so closed off emotionally how deep the scars go. Maybe castle will delve into why he is the way he is, discuss how deeply guilty he feels. It could be a combo of both. We all see those moments castle doesnt see and vice versa. Maybe they will share some real feelings. Not the I love you and I love you too moment we all want. Maybe what they do share builds more trust to lead that way.
ReplyDeleteBeckett will need to know why both of castles marriages didn't last, if he can commit before she can. I also think she is going to have to resolve her mothers murder either purely emotionally or solve the case and catch the guy behind it before she could open herself up to the kind of relationship shed have with castle. She won't be one foot in and one foot out the door with him like she is with Josh, which she admitted in bomb episode. Shed be all in with castle and she needs to be ready or it won't last.
I read two encouraging pieces of information on other blogs: one was that Beckett does not want to jump into this relationship and ruin it. She wants to give this one a chance, so what may look like backing off to us (viewers) may be her way of protecting the relationship and moving into it slowly. This information was based on what Stana Katic said about her character, Beckett. The other was that while we initially may feel disappointed, she says something at the end of the first show that allows us to have hope. So I will wait to see the episode in its entirety. My hope, along with what seems to be all the fans' hope, is that they make progress in solidifying their relationship. Too, I hope the writers, producers and executive producer/creator reads these comments to know that they will LOSE fans if they don't bring the relationship together by season's end. All this discussion of that ruining it is unfounded. You can't compare to Moonlight.....this is a different time and a different audience......we all want to believe in a little magic -- especially now.
ReplyDeleteAt anon 5.40, nicely put.
ReplyDeleteYeah cant wait to see what that hope is. Agreed they will loose fans if they keep finding reasons to keep them apart. They can slowly explore some real romance here, they dont need to rush into anything but they need to move towards that.
Completely agree, the moonlighting crap is ridiculous. I cant believe people still believe that. There were so many other factors involved with why the show dwindled. Poeple who think the moonlighting curse exist have obviously not read much or done research.
In my opinion there is alot of storytelling with Castle and Beckett once they get together. Their characters are so saucy, the banter will be doubled with being awesome and they would also have problems and issues to deal with like any other real couple, which will be interesting to watch.
And yes we watch TV for some magic, so I hope we get that.
