Ok, nice to see that you're had the same mixed feelings as me: watch the sneak peeks or not watch the sneak peek ? That was the question. Today's test proved my mental weakness... The second video is so... well, you know. I'm dying to see the whole episode.
WOW. Just, wow. After watching them all more times than I'd like to admit, I have a few reactions: 1)The acting just had me breathless. I swear, if Castle's snubbed on an Emmy nomination this season, I'm going to. lose. my. mind. They've already shown more Emmy-worthy acting in 3 minutes of clips than most shows do all season. 2)*LOVE* how Josh thinks he has all the answers as to why Montgomery was killed and Beckett was shot. Poor Castle can't even defend himself to the accusations since Kate said that "no one outside this immediate family will ever know" (not that she needed to say that - they loved Montgomery and would never tarnish his reputation). But still - Josh acts like the leading authority on things he knows NOTHING about. 3) Castle's exchange with Martha broke my heart. Ahh, this show!!
Anon 1:36- Totally agree with you about the Josh thing. Remember when he didn't even know about Johanna Beckett's murder? He couldn't have known about it for long and he thinks he has all the answers... I can't wait until Kate dumps his ignorant bootay.
The funny part is that Castle DIDN'T push Beckett to look into her mother's murder.
He tried to, and got reamed, and when he told about his checking into anyways, she kicked him out of her life (at least for the summer - heheh).
It was the Sucker Punch of the way the guy was murdered in Sucker Punch that brought the hitman who actually committed the murder to her attention and she went after him - of her own volition - Castle had even offered to stay completely out of it.
Then when Ragland was murdered, that drew her into the case even more (although, I will admit that Castle did push a little bit in that episode, by offering to help work on her mom's case, and then discovering that she had a murder board for her mom's case setup in her house (and that Josh didn't know about it).
And it was catching Lockwood that kept her involved, as she was visiting him on a weekly basis up to the time he escaped and eventually killed Montgomery.
As for Josh, give him a bit of a break. He is scared of losing Kate and it is human nature to find somebody to lash out at and Castle is the obvious choice. It is soooo much better that he has so many facts wrong because that shows that Kate didn't confide anything in him, that she did keep him out of things that only her, Castle, Esposito and Ryan knew about.
It also shows that despite the few time they have showed him, and how self-confident he always appears, that he does have some insecurities, especially where Castle is concerned, which makes his lashing out at Castle even more likely (and expected).
Now having said that, I, too, hope that Kate drops him like a hot potato...

Castle looks good for a change in his sweater in the 3rd video. I hope this season castle and Beckett have more casuals outings and so they dress more casually. I remember castle used to wear more sweaters in season 1.

Yes I agree with anon 4.32, really glad that castle tells his mother about confessing his feelings to Beckett. Oh please Beckett needs to get rid of Josh. He is cute and all but he's no castle!!!
But I do agree with another comment, we need to give Josh a break, to him castle is this annoying writer spending lots of time with Kate. And he couldn't protect her when it counted the most. It's natural to get mad like that, just like Alexis getting mad. Technically Kate is not the one to blame, but from reading interviews with Molly quinn, seems like Alexis will blame Kate a lot, which is not fair but it's because she is mad.
Anon. 436 I agree I believe she will lie about hearing the I Love Yous and will push him away. the episode with the Insurance chick will likely make her realize how deeply she feels.
I was expecting more of a fight!!! Hhmmm, ok but my heart goes out to Jim Beckett.
I dont hate Josh, but I think for the show to progress its time for him to go. Beckett has been stringing him along for a whole year. Its time to stop. Beckett doesnt need to admit she loves Castle to anyone but she needs to admit it to herself at least. She has to realize that she is just cheating Josh and herself by staying with him. And if you ignore the fact that he comes in the way of castle and Beckett, as a person I assume he is nice.
I jst hope that we are not dissapointed with Castle and Becketts progress as such, becasue it really is time for them to move in the right direction. Even if it is a snails pace, they need to commit to making that move.
Ok now Im really curious about what Beckett says at the end. Seems like all the blogger sites are saying that they cant reveal anything about it as its crucial in their direction. I wish she would say she loves him too but Im certain thats not it. So what could it be?Really hope it isnt something negative, because then I'll be pissed.
I have a question. Why is it that Castle and Beckett have to spend every summer apart, with one being pissed off at the other. Come on. She almost died. How can he not go and see her! It will be becasue of guilt I guess but still, he says he loves her then doesnt see or speak to her in 3 months. I was actually hoping that he would help with her recovery and he will be very protective of her. But obviously if he is not there, then thats out. I hope its her father who takes care of her and NOT Josh. She does not need a reason to stay with him out a guilt.

I'm so intrigued about becketts words at the end...I think we all assume it's about her relationship with castle but it could also be about her job. The article said that what she says sets the direction of the season. Maybe it has something to do with her job and the new captain. But personally I hope it's about her relationship with castle...
Josh was not at funeral because they broke up? That seems plausible and would explain Josh's frustration with Castle. He's the reason she called it quits with Josh.
And if they are apart during her recuperation, I think that will be a major issue and make their hooking up that much more emotional; both regretting it and promising never to be apart again - ever.

Second, I'm actually kind of glad to see that Rick doesn't go back at Josh. I think it shows just how upset he really is that he couldn't do anything more than stagger back and fall against a wall. Seeing him tell Martha flat out that he told her he loved her was AWESOME. I am so glad that the wait is finally almost over. It's been a very long summer and I think I am really, really going to enjoy this season.
And last, but not least, I must agree with Anon 1:36...just the few minutes shown in these clips shows more talent deserving of an Emmy than most shows have in an entire season.

You know I have a weird feeling, im going to be annoyed with some of the characters.

Castle becasue I think he doesnt see Beckett for the hiatus period where she is recovering. Which means he walks away, probably due to guilt.
Alexis because i think this season she is going to be an annoying teenage drama queen.
