4x01 - Rise (Season Premiere) - Episode Stills
"Rise" (Season Premiere) -- In a riveting opening that picks up just moments after last season's climactic finale, Detective Beckett (Stana Katic) fights for her life as Castle (Nathan Fillion), plagued by guilt over his role in the events, struggles to uncover who's behind her brutal shooting. Meanwhile, back at the precinct, Ryan (Seamus Dever) and Esposito (John Huertas) have to adjust, as Victoria "Iron" Gates (Penny Johnson Jerald, "24") becomes the precinct's new uncompromising Captain. The Season 4 premiere of "Castle" airs MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 19.

One thing that worries me is that I don't see Castle in any of the precinct photos... hope he doesn't pull a disappearing act out of guilt.
ReplyDeleteBut maybe if he does, the episode will end with Kate going to see him and showing some sign that she loves him and wants him around; saying that she can't continue on without him... I know that's wishful thinking but hey, a girl can dream!
Alexis looks like she wants to kill Josh. She's VERY pissed off! OMG, I'm gonna love this!

I think that it's going to be chet, or some other character that we already know!
Well it shows Beckett just getting her badge at, so maybe that's why he's not at the precinct. He was there to follow around Beckett, and she hadn't been there in months. He probably comes back when she goes to talk to him and she tells him she's ready to go do her job.

My theory is this: Castle's not there because the new Cap has kicked him out. Beckett finds this out, and gives an ultimatum: let him back in, or I walk. We know Gates doesn't want Castle around, but she must allow it for some reason, otherwise there'd be no show (or a very changed version of it). So by forcing Gates's hand, Gates has no choice, and Castle's allowed to stick around.

My guess is that we find out she'll pull through, have a few scenes with her waking up, and reuniting with people, find out about her treatment plan and where she'll be recovering, then we skip to September where she's pretty much healed.
Funny I also thought she was turning her badge in. I thought maybe she was under orders to see a therapist and while she was, she had 2 turn in her badge till she was deemed fit to resume duties.Im not sure now tho??? She doesnt seem to happy if she is getting it back???

ReplyDeleteThey would have taken her gun and badge while she was in the hospital. They can't just have them lying around since she lives alone. I think she is getting the badge back, but given desk duty until she clear by the shrink. I also, noticed the lack of Castle in the precinct pictures. No Castle at the precinct, then no show. So he can't be totally booted off. Hopefully the fight causes the end of DMB as predicted. Loved angry Alexis, seems like thats her mood for the season? Hope not. The pictures of ZBZeckett at the precinct really make her look frail, thin withdrawn in my opinion. I do not think she is close to full recovery. In one picture she is holding her mother's ring on the chain in her hands. Wonder why it isn't on?

I can't wait to see that scene in the hospital corridor. I think the fight between Castle & Josh will spur the break-up between Beckett and Josh. I hope she kicks him to the curb when she finds out he went after Castle. I can't wait until the 19th!!! 18 more days!!!

ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the pic of Alexis getting angry at Josh. I think it's after Josh has punched Castle and Alexis is mad at him because of that. But, oh well, let's see what really is the reason, when it finally airs.

Have you noticed that Kate's father is there when Josh pushes Castle? You can see him behind Josh in one of the pics. So he witnesses the whole thing! Can't wait to see what he has to say about it.

ReplyDeleteGod.. Jim Beckett's face breaks my heart!! I can't imagine what he's going through. Makes me scared for Kate's death all over again even though we all know she lives.
ReplyDeleteI'm really hoping that after Beckett gets out of surgery and goes to recovery that castle is there with her and doesn't leave her side. When she wakes up, she sees him and reminds her that he will always be there for her.

Beckett is defnately handing over her badge. Just saw more pics on Buddy Tv.com and it clearly shows her holding her badge to her chest then the next pic. shows her handing it over and the captain leaning in to take it.If she is assigned to desk work she may have to turn it in till she is out in the field again. 21 new pics on this site at hospital and bull pen.Enjoy fellow Castle Crazys lol

That swingset scene photo, might that be the discussion where Beckett tells him that it wasn't his fault? I sure hope it's not one where she tells Castle she is committed to Josh.
Going from the previous spoilers and from the pics and a liberal bit of guessing, I would say the following:

DMB comes out give Beckett's father an update on her condition. I would say that Josh has NOT met him before. Remember, neither had Castle until he went to Castle's apartment to try to get Castle to get her to back down.
Anyways, while Josh is out there giving everybody an update, telling them that she will live, Castle, ridden with guilt over her being shot, will blame himself for pushing her to investigate her mother's murder in the first place. Don't forget, she hasn't told Josh that she was doing that either (or at least about her home murder board).
And of course Josh is going to be upset over Castle's comments and what he "confesses" to and he gets angry and pushes/hits Castle (from the one clip it looks like Josh knocks him into a wall and he falls on the floor.
This would be the point where Esposito gets up in his as Alexis gets mad and goes after him (with Ryan holding her by one arm and it looks like Martha may have the other arm).
Now, while Beckett is recovering, Castle either isn't going to be hanging around the station, or if he tries, I would expect the new Captain to kick him out.
When I saw the image of badge hand-off (and there really isn't any way to tell which way it was going), my immediate thought was that she was turning her badge in - unless Castle was allowed to return.
The scene with Beckett at her desk looks like she may be packing things up (afterall, the previous picture shows her without jacket, and this one with, long with a large heavily filled bag, such as one might use when packing up their desk).
Now, if she did indeed quit, I see 2 possibilities for their return (together).
1) The Mayor calls and talks to the Captain. We already know that she is upwardly mobile - job-wise - so "doing a favor" for the mayor (who is basically doing a favor for Castle), even when she dislikes it, might be something she would do.
2) The same thing, but instead of the mayor, it is a favor for the person behind the death of Beckett's mother. If she is out on her own, she is too much of a loose cannon and quite too likely to find out more than they want her to k now. But if she is on the force, doing her job, then not only will she be kept busy and occupied, but I am sure that this mysterious mister X likely still has contacts on the force that can be used to keep tabs on her.
At least, those are my guesses.....
