3x24 - Knockout (Season Finale) - Synopsis

CASTLE -- "Knockout" - SEASON FINALE - MONDAY, MAY 16 (10:01-11:00 p.m., ET) -- Kate Beckett's investigation into her mother's death is reactivated when Hal Lockwood (guest star Max Martini, "The Unit") - a professional hit man with knowledge of Beckett's mother's murder - stages a spectacular escape during a court hearing. As police launch a manhunt for Lockwood, Castle and the team uncover evidence of a deeper conspiracy involving a mysterious figure with law enforcement connections who is linked to both Lockwood's escape and the killing of Johanna Beckett. The search for Lockwood and the quest to identify his co-conspirator leads to a shocking and deadly conclusion.

  1. to me this looks more and more like the Captain might not be as nice as he seems to be....that's the only one I can imagine as a co-conspirator who leads to a shocking and deadly conclusion....
    OR
he get's killed because someone farther up in the hierarchy tries to kill Beckett and he jumps in the way or something like that

anyway, I think he's the only option left for the deadly part, isn't he?

  2. gosh, I hope that the co-conspirator is not Montgomery

  3. Ruben Santiago-Hudson said at an interview, that Montgomery was one of the officers who worked in Becketts's mother's murder when happened, and every time he sees her he feels ashamed.

  5. So how does this jibe with the quote from Marlowe that the end of the season puts Castle & Beckett's identities fundamentally at odds?

My guess --flip the end of of Sucker Punch --Beckett is again on the verge of discovering the whole truth, but Castle intervenes to protect her- (possibly killing the captain himself). Her interest is her mother's killer (her identity wrapped up in that quest), and his interest (and identity) is her (or possibly Alexis' or Martha's) safety.

How to put who he is against who she is, out of this information? Only thing I can think of is truth vs. safety.

Your a genius, I never thought about it that way, but that sound exactly like the two characters its so obvious. We all know this case drives Beckett nuts, its usually Caslte that is the uncharacteristically cool and rational head in mom murder related episodes. //

  7. On the other hand...

How far would Beckett go to protect Castle and his family?

    That's a storyline I'd like to see.

  8. She has been the justice seeking law abiding cop, he has been the silly horse stealing playboy - so if that gets turned around, so she is now vengeful law-breaker and he is serious fair righter of wrongs - that would see them spin themselves around.

  9. I'd like to see this too...!!

Because we all know that she consider his family as close as her own family... But if someone puts them in danger?? How is going to react Beckett??

  11. I'll just be glad to be getting some new episodes again! (But at least ABC reran the episode regarding Beckett's mom's death, because I'd forgotten much of what happened!)

  12. Can someone explain in a nutshell why and who killed Beckett's mother and how is that connected with the crooked cops? I couldn't put the pieces together.
